CONGRATULATIONS ANGIE!! The check is in the mail...no REALLYπ
Andto those that managed to lose during the holidays...WTG!
Who is making pot pie? Oh gosh that sounds GREAT.
Got home, unpacked and did some laundry, vacuumed and washed floors. I'll pick up Lulu tomorrow all bathed and pedicured; she also got her annual check up during her stay.
Tomorrow I'll go through bills and pull info for taxes. I only have to look up a couple things for the trust taxes in order to send those off. Also going to call tree trimmer for an estimate on some trimming and generally just take care of paperwork and odds and ends at home. Back to work Wed.

Angie I'm glad you had a good time last night. That is too darn cold.Congrats on your loss. When Kenneth went out this morning he found where it had sleeted last night. We never heard it so it was either later or during the fireworks.I have already heard fireworks tonight again. It's been cold today. We had a low of 24 and a high of 32.The sun never did come out so maybe it won't be as cold but we haven't seen the sun in a week.
Welcome home Suze.
I put all our 2017 bill receipts filed and put away today.I haven't even gone out the door today.Scooter has been in most of the day and was good with Marcie until dinner then she had to start chasing her.
Feel better soon everyone.

ANGIE turkey pot pie sounds good. I think I'd just gorge on the crust (esp since I can't have wheat... that's what I crave).
LOL SANDY that's not just a farm or a house. It's the Sheets/------ Compound! How fun on stocking the tank. I have friends w/ a stocked pond. They're goat farmers a bit south of Waco (and plant the rest w/ rye and timothy for hay). Anyway they stock w/ bluegill. I love to fish there b/c I always catch something When you stock the tank, then plant w/ cotton I'll sing... Summertime when the living is easy. Fish are jumpin'.... and the cotton is highhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. HEY EVERYONE... take your fingers out of your ears!!! And I BET the hospital ER was full of flu people. If this is just a cold, it's the worst cold I've ever had. But since the flu shot was only 10% effective this year, who knows?
CONNIE I think SUZE did a roster a couple of weeks ago IIRC so Angie's on there.
SUZE, traveling, vacuuming, laundry etc... your foot must be feeling better.
BECKY we had sun here. BUt the cold was BRUTAL.
SOOOO at my son's house he made the prime rib and a pork tenderloin using a Sous Vide (you put the meat in a baggie, put the baggie in a warm water bath and the sous vide circulates the water at whatever temp you set it at). So one of my Christmas gifts from the kids was a Kansas City Grass Fed Chateaubriand. 2 lbs. I decided to 'sous vide" it. Set it at 136 degrees (med rare) and stuck it in the water for 3 hours. It's so weird. 2 hours, 3, 4, 5.. .makes no difference, it will be the exact same "done-ness". Then I seared it in an iron skillet for a total of 6 minutes. Even Bob said it was by far the best "steak" he'd ever had including fancy steak houses. AMAZING. I was so worried about messing up. Now I'm hooked. Next up will be a coffee rubbed pork tenderloin. YUMMO. Y'all come on over!

Good evening ladies. I just typed a whole message to you and it's gone to cyber space!!
Thank you for the warm welcome. I hope to get to know you all during the next few weeks. Congrats to Angie on winning the challenge you had going and also to all those that lost weight during the holidays.
I live it CT - been married to my DH for 28 years. Have 2 adult children from my first marriage, a DD, 43 and a DS 34. I'm 29, so don't know how they got so old!! I'm 63, will be 64 in February. I changed jobs at the end of November. I am the HR Director for a nursing home corp. The corp. owns 3 homes and there are about 375 employees. My DH just had back surgery on Dec. 19th, so the holidays were a little stressful. Glad they are over. DH has his staples removed tomorrow. Don't think the doctor will allow him to drive yet though.
I have been on and off WW so many times I've lost count. I really need to get serious this time as my arthritis is acting up - cold weather and doing too much around the house while DH isn't able to. The extra weight and eating too much junk over the holidays has me feeling crappy and causing me to have indigestion after I eat junk food, so you would think I would stop it!
Happy Tuesday to all. I'll check in tomorrow night.

Joan, you're having a stressful end of 2017/beginning of 2018, esp w/ DH's back surgery. I hope he's doing well and BEHAVING!! I'm in a similar boat. Been on WW 3,057,424 times at least. But I am liking the look of this one. I'm 66 and have been having some GI issues and am currently on an elimination diet to figure out what foods are bothering me. Low FODMAP. It's HARD. No dairy, legumes, wheat, onions, garlic, very few fruits, very few veggies, very few artificial sweeteners, no honey... anyway I can have meat, eggs and many fats and limited green leafy veggies. I'm dying to have some LEGUMES. The past 2 days I've added garlic back. I get to add something new every 3 days to see what's bothering me. So far garlic seems to be a green light. YAY me. Anyway, it's so cold here in the Dallas area (not going above freezing for at least 72 hours straight) and my knees and ankles are feeling the stress of the extra weight. I've also had a knee surgery about 18 months ago so I need to take better care of myself. Anyway I'm 66 (how did THAT happen) living w/ my "boy toy" Bob, and I have a 38 year old son in ST Louis and a 5 month old grandson there. I also have a 35 year old daughter in Austin and she and her DH are expecting their first in July. Oh and I don't like fruit. Just thought you'd want to know!

CELESTE the meat cooks in a bag in water? Ill google it..not familiar eith that type of cooking at all. Have you always cooked? You are certainly good at it. Yes my foot feels better. In fact...drumroll...9,237 steps @8:30pm. I can't believe it. That's the most steps in a day since October!
JOAN best wishes for your DH and his recovery. fyi..I had foot surgery 10/13 and have had complications with the incision healing. I was 10 weeks on a knee scooter and am now in a boot. So I'm happy to be getting ANY walking in.
I'm 59 and live in Commerce,TX after moving from MI in 2001. I spent two years in Laredo then moved to east tx amd bought a small fishing/hunting lodge (sold in 2010) I am divorced and have one dss with whom I am close. I currently work at Texas A&M Commere in the grad school. I like to work out, walk and do strength training (but have neen slacking lately), have been remodeling a home, and like manual labor. I live with my Jack, Lulu and Baby Kitty. I too have gained especially in the last 5 years.
BECKY don't blame you (and Scooter) for staying in. Cccccold.
Night all. Back with WI and goals tomorrow.

So SANDY what does one do at a cotton gin? All I know about it is that Eli Whitney invented it IIRC. And there's a Cotton Gin Road in Frisco!!
SUZE I've always enjoyed cooking. Even when I go on vacation, by the end of it I always think "I can't wait to get in the kitchen and to eat my own food." And YEAH weird on the meat in a bag in a water bath. Sous Vides have been used for years in fine restaurants in France. I was skeptical but my son (also a fantastic cook) made some of the best meals ever using it. The WEIRD part to me is so you put the prime rib in a bag in the soup pot w/ the sous vide. You can cook it for 4 hours or 9 hours and it will be EXACTLY the same amount of "done-ness". If you set it to 130 degrees it's cooked w/in 3 or 4 hours and at 8 hours it's exactly the same!! And it makes no difference if it's 2 pounds or 5 pounds!! SO FREAKING WEIRD and so PERFECT.
Well I'm going to take another nebulizer treatment. I'm having trouble getting anything 'up' when I cough. It had been nice and loose. When my chest tightens up is when I get in trouble w/ pneumonia or bronchitis. Then I'm getting in bed to read and hopefully I'll have a better night than last night (hard to be worse). Sleep well my little SNICKERDOODLES!!

Welcome, JOAN. I'm Connie. I live in WV with my DH of 22 years in a 107 year old 3 story fixer-upper. I'm a midnight pharmacist at a 210 bed hospital and I work 7 on 7 off , 12 hour shifts. Just finished my week so have the week off and am trying to flip back to day shift. I'm 51 years old and an avid quilter. I run a custom machine quilting business on the side, doing about 1 quilt a month for customers. I'm a lifetime WW member who is 30 pounds from goal. I'm down 45 pounds from my highest weight and have kept that off for about 3 years. This last bit has been really hard to lose (without re-gaining). Walking is my favorite exercise and I love Zumba when I lose enough that it doesn't kill my knees. I am also a scuba diver and have a trip scheduled in July, so I need to drop at LEAST 15 pounds before then so I don't feel like a whale on the trip.
CELESTE- that's' right, I DID get the address list, just need to go back and find it. Thanks for reminding me. Ive only had 3.5 hours of sleep today so am a little brain dead right now. My parents are in WV. It was a 4 hour drive from my hometown to college in Pittsburgh. My sister lives in Morgantown which is only about an hour from the 'burgh.
DH invited the couple we are scuba diving with to our house for supper tonight. I had ham steaks and colcannon (mashed potatoes and sautΓ©ed cabbage with bacon) and corn. We had such a good visit. A fun New Year's Day.
Tomorrow I'm driving to Point Pleasant for a quilt guild meeting. About an hour away. Gotta stop for gas first. It's 9 degrees here and feels like -2....not looking forward to pumping gas in that!

Ok ladies....thank you thank you...kind of amazed myself that I managed to lose anything .... but those dgks are just the best wt loss kids plan for me!
Please DO NOT send me a check....instead, make a donation to your local food bank or some agency that will use it to help others less fortunate than we are. That would warm my heart π
Joan...welcome! Best wishes for a smooth recovery for your dh. I am recently retired ( nurse / middle school teacher) and my dh just retired mid Dec. We live in northwest IA and spend increasing amts of time in MN where our grown kids & 4 dgks are....but canβt wait to head to FL in a few weeks for some warm weather & family fun!
Celeste...have not heard of that cooking technique...but you know what a lazy, boring cook I am....lol. Must say, the pot pie was delish! I do a very thin crust...you wouldnβt OD on it.
Suze....glad you made it home ok! Lulu will be so happy to see you.
Sandy...a bunch of errands for us tomorrow, too. I think weβre going to try to work in the Star Wars movie, too....Tuesday is the cheap day.
Becky....can you come up & do some filing here? We have a few stacks that could use some attention π
Donβt forget to look at the super moon tonight ...it is gorgeous! With snow here, it is really bright π

So much for a relaxing evening. Dinner was great. Baked chicken with cream of chicken and rice with black eye peas, cabbage. I made cornbread muffins but didn't eat them. Had a piece of the banana cake I made earlier in the day.
Well, we're sitting at the table & DH kept asking the same questions over & over. The 1st time we laughed and I said to Autumn is this why you laugh at me b/c I'm always forgetting, but not within minutes. By the 3rd time, I didn't think it was funny & knew something was wrong. Asked him if he was feeling ok and he said yes. Even Autumn started to get worried. I sent he upstairs and stayed with him to watch. Seriously, DH is healthy as a horse. So, asked again. He said he was fine. Went upstairs to start getting things ready for tomorrow. Was at my desktop when I hear something downstairs. Ran down & he was in the 1/2 bath. I opened the door and poor guy was puking his head off. Stayed with him for an hour before I was able to get him upstairs. Had Zachary walk behind him just in case he fell down. He's back in the bathroom right now. It's going to be a long night.
Seriously thought he might be having a stroke. Even Zachary asked me questions along that line. He says nothing hurts, just sick to stomach. If I had to guess he got something bad at lunch. He usually picks something up before heading to the house to clean it. We all ate the same dinner...well, the kids didn't eat the veggies...but DH & I ate the same.
Angie, will most definitely donate to a shelter. Great idea.
Night ladies. Here's hoping I get some sleep.

Connie I love a casual dinner w/ a few friends like that. Nice way to spend an evening. Also with that bitter cold, when you go to pump gas, DO NOT PUT YOUR TONGUE ON THE GAS PUMP!! Just saying.
ANgie I've already written the check, and it's in a stamped envelope so I'll send it and you can cash it and donate to whomever you please. That is a neat idea though if we ever do this again. Winner chooses charity! And though I'm not a boring cook, I cannot make a pie crust to save my life unless it's a frozen crust. I'm an awful baker. Other than Tollhouse Choc Chip cookies, I'm useless. So when I make a 'pot pie" I top it w/ biscuits or rolled out crescent rolls.
STEPH how scary for you and I'm glad it's just a tummy bug. I was worrying that you were going to say that he passed out. But if his tummy was really getting bad, he was probably half concentrating on how awful he felt and not paying attention to what anyone including himself said. Oddly a good friend of mine and I were emailing today. He said he had been vomiting all day and was so weak that he was considering asking his husband to take him to the ER for fluids and a shot. He can't even keep down water or Sprite. Man oh man... the holidays are hazardous to one's health I swear.
Breathing treatment done and the albuterol once again has me wired. I'm showered and am going to try to relax. Maybe a shot of Nyquil will do it. Night all.
