STEPH i hope your dh is better today. That must have been scary for you all.

LOUISE I'm not getting ANY better but I'm not getting any worse. But first thing in the AM and last thing at night I'm sucking on my nebulizer w/ 2 meds in the tank. Albuterol and Ipratroprium. It's (mostly) keeping things loose. It's when I can't cough the gunk up that I find myself in the biggest trouble. But from what people are going through, this crap is LONG lasting. Keep us posted, LOUISE.
SUZE go easier on yourself. I know your weight was creeping back over time BUT you also have had foot issues for lord knows how long. And IMHO for YOU....you are only REALLY successful when you let your inner Energizer Bunny do it's thing. Hard to do when every step is pain. ME? IF..... (big fat if) my head is in the game, exercise is just the icing on the cake and I can lose w/o upping my activity. For you and BOB I think exercise is the spark that gets your head in the game. When Bob starts exercising (usually walking 3 miles at work and/or here), he doesn't want to mess up his efforts w/ overeating. ME? The more I exercise the hungrier I get... seriously.
Slept a tiny bit better last night. Some coughing during the night but not like yesterday. I couldn't get an appointment w/ the new dentist until Friday for popping on my crown AND I had to get x-rays and cleaning to establish myself as a patient. UGH. Oh well. This new practice is Twins Dentistry. 2 ladies who are identical twins and Nextdoor.com RAVES about them and they're like 6 minutes from me. If I don't like them, I'll go back to my dentist in Plano whom I love but he's too far.
Currently 22, feels like 14. I don't plan on going anywhere until tonight when I'll go for Pho. So far adding garlic SEEMS to have been OK so now I'll add onions. My life... so exciting.

Good afternoon.
Was able to stay in bed all night last night. Got decent sleep. Much better than I've been getting lately. Got on the treadmill for 30 minutes, then had a black bean omelette topped with salsa and light sour cream. (Skipped the cheese).
Drove to the quilt guild meeting and it was -3 degrees. By the time I drove home, it was a balmy 15.
Only about 7 ladies attended the meeting. I won't be able to go again until June due to my work schedule. Afterwards, mom and I met dad at Bob Evans for lunch. They had chicken and noodles and I had a big bowl of steel cut oatmeal with brown sugar, milk, and candied pecans. Yum! A good warm, filling choice on a cold day.
This afternoon I want to do some meal planning, get on the treadmill again, and figure out how I am going to set myself up for success at this weight loss thing.
SUZE- I was up to 187.4 this morning. I'm disgusted as well. But we both know we can do this!

Letβs all make this our year to join Becky in maintenance. Sheβs told us that if she could do it, so can we.
So....whatβs everyone doing just today to make that happen?
I am drinking water & pushing to make 8000 steps.

Hi Joan and Welcome! I am 61 and a retired teacher. I live in S TX and it is WAY colder than what we are used too. Had SNOW about 3 weeks ago (very unusual) and for awhile thought it would snow again on Christmas. Didn't happen, but it has been COLD starting on New Year's Eve. Current temp is 36 with a wind chill of 29. Supposed to warm up tomorrow, like into the low 40's. I also have 2 cats that let me live with them.
The neighborhood cat, Morris (what I call him - his pet mom calls him Sam and YES, he looks like Morris from 9 Lives cat food) was forceably removed from my garage last night by me and taken to his pet parents house. Figured it was warmer in their house than my garage (mid 50's with door down). He purred all the way there and did not appear to be happy to be inside their house. Probably something to do with the attention I would give him.
I downloaded an app from the iTunes store that I saw on a FB page. I LOVE the app. It is called Happy Scale and does a MUCH better job than the WW app does about showing your weight graphs etc. Problem is, I have had to manually add all of my logged WI's since the "beginning of time" or the start of my 5th or 6th WW life. I think I am currently on my 7th WW life right now. Another problem with the app is that it is ONLY made for Apple products (phone and iPad) and not for any Android products which I personally think is not a good thing.

ANGIE- to make it happen, Today I am focusing on getting my steps (already at 10,000), staying within my points (so far so good, but we will see what the evening has in store), and planning food for the rest of the week.
STEPH- any update on your DH? He has me worried.

Well Iβve pulled together all the tax info for the trust and LLC, and caught up on filing for both and my own tax info as well.
CELESTE β my βinner Energizer Bunnyβ β you know me too well, lol, but so true. Onions & garlic β oh my! Seriously, Iβm glad for you that you can add some things back and not suffer. Iβm up in the air about whether a root canal is needed with this new crown. Itβs not sensitive, but itβs βsomething.β I am supposed to get the permanent crown next Monday.
CONNIE good for you! Sounds like a good start to some down time. And YES we CAN!
Hey ANGIE β let me know the secret to the **poof** action. You are taking a step in the right direction. Iβve been working at home today and go back tomorrow.
Iβm being mindful of portions and tracking. And drinking water. I had a wonderful stew (tomato based) for lunch and need to check what has pts and what does not. I had one serving, and was satisfied, but could have easily eaten another bowl.

Welcome Joan.I am Becky and I live in Central TX.My DH and I have been married 33 years and live on a farm where we raise a few head of cattle. No children but have 2 cats and 1 dog.We are both retired.
Angie I was going to get another years worth to file this afternoon but never got around to it so I don't think I'll make it.Besides it's too cold where you live.
Steph I hope DH feels better. That would be scary.Could he have the flu?I saw on the news where TX ranks real high among states where people are getting the flu even if they already had the flu shot.
Louise and Celeste I hope you both feel better soon.
Angie if I can do it anyone can. It's not easy and maintaining is the harder than losing b/c you don't feel the excitement of losing anymore.Remember it took me 5 years so don't rush it.I think Curves helped a lot but the other gym in town didn't do a thing for me.I'm not following Freestyle anymore b/c I do better if I just track points for everything except f&v but everyone has to do it their own way.
Stay warm Louise.
I heard earlier it is supposed to get down to 20.We already have a water leak and was hoping to get it repaired tomorrow afternoon but it has to get above freezing before they can fix it.We wrapped our pipes and dripped the faucets but it still broke in my bathroom.

Good evening ladies and thank you all for the warm welcome and good wishes for DH. Had his staples out today and did well. Needs to go back in 4 weeks. Doctor was very pleased with his progress. He almost didn't have the surgery because he had pneumonia from just before Thanksgiving until the 15th of December. Was on 3 rounds of antibiotics to clear him up.
I hope all that are under the weather feel better and the weather starts to warm up. We are supposed to have 4" to 6" of snow on Thursday. I pray we don't as I will be the one shoveling it or snow blowing it. I'll definitely get my exercise.
I had a good food day and got my steps too, so happy with today. Put together a big crock pot of beef stew for tomorrow night's dinner. DH was pleased I did this....he was afraid I was going to ask him to do it! Love knowing that it will be cooked when I get in and won't have to supper. I enjoy cooking when I have time, but get bored with making suppers all the time. I prefer breakfast being my big meal and would be happy with a bowl of cereal or ice cream for dinner! Still haven't been able to convince DH that this works!
Okay, 'nite all. Check in tomorrow.

Joan I'm glad your DH is doing better. My DH wouldn't be satisfied with something light for dinner either.
Suze I heard on the news that Austin was colder than most of Alaska and there was ice during rush hour traffic there...lots of accidents.
Steph I hope you were able to get home safely.

DH is feeling a little better. He got up & took Autumn to practice this morning, but then stayed home b/c he wasn't feeling better to go in.
Well, there was no heat in my room or parts of our building today. Not sure how tomorrow is going to be, so I'm taking a blanket, space heater & my red ear muffs. Plus, I'll have many, many layers on under my winter coat.
Night ladies. I'm exhausted.
