It is so strange to wake up and have everything still all white.
Obviously I have no plans to go out of my house.

Oh, Connie hope you can get some meds to help you feel better.
Louise, it is weird having snow in the south. I grew up in Louisiana and we once in a blue moon would get snow. Not much but us kids really liked it. They are showing Savannah and Charleston on the news right now.
Celeste, hope you can quit coughing. Mine has gotten better since we cam back down to the lower altitude.
My official starting weight is 186.8. The batteries in my regular scale had gone out so I used an old scale. Put new batteries in it and weighed this morning. Will use this weight since this is the scale i normally use. Still weight within a couple of pounds where I was before the holidays.
Trying to decide if I want to go back to Water Aeorbics or walk on the treadmill. Don't really want to do either but I know I NEED to do something. It is just getting back in the routine.
Saw my neighbor yesterday and realized she had dropped A LOT of weight. I asked her how she did it. Said just watched what she was eating and portion control. Goes to the gym everyday. (And she works as a school nurse). She lost 35 pounds in 8 months! I am so jealous, but inspired. Just got to get my you know what in gear!
Waves to all! Will check back in later.

I'm back from Med Express. They diagnosed a "sinus infection gone bad." I had them call in my rx for amoxicillin. Will pick it up after my OB/GYN appointment. I need to go pick out new frames for my glasses today or tomorrow.
Not sure what what else I feel up to today. Got my steps in by the skin of my teeth yesterday. Hope I can manage them today. My sleep was interrupted so many times with coughing last night that I feel like a nap might be in order later. Of course, that tends to ruin my sleep for the evening, so not sure if I should nap or not.

Yay on downward moving scale, Sandy! What you are doing is working!!! Keep it going!
Connie....may the meds kick in soon! Get some rest today.
Louise....bet it does seem strange to see snow stick around where you are. Covers up the drab brown here.
Terri....weβre all in the same boat....know what we need to do, just need to do it. Canβt believe I actually enjoyed the gym yesterday & am looking forward to going again today. Itβs probably because I know iβm down to crunch time to try to gain any stamina / Lise even a little before vacation.
Lunch out with retired teachers today, gym, late afternoon hair appt, laundry going. How did I ever find time to work? #lovingretirement

Thank goodness for my Chromebook as a backup. Last night at 11PM my laptop started a Windows update. I left it on and went to bed and currently it says it's 84% finished.
ANYWAY, CONNIE I'm so sorry you have this crap. I still am not sure it's not the flu. Personally I have trouble "mounting a fever" (my PCP's word), so I can't use that as a symptom. BUt I have FELT feverish. Hot then cold and definitely achy. I don't usually have body ached and that feverish, out of body type feeling when I have a cold. Initially I was coughing up yellow but now it'c clear... IF I can bring anything up. Right now my chest is tight as a drum. Take care of yourself (I think this is your week off??) Things you might WANT to get accomplished don't NEED to be done (like the quilts) at the expense of your health. Maybe you can get Tamiflu if you test positive. I was in STL and there was snow everywhere so I didn't go to an urgent care and by the time I got home it would have been too late for tamiflu anyway.
LOUISE they showed Savannah covered in white on the news this morning. I thought of you!
Oh GEE TERRY!! The thought of my cough and my lungs at high altitude right now hurts just thinking about it. And yes thanks for the inadvertent reminder. I keep forgetting that we have Water Aerobics here. Once I get over this crud that would be a great place to start. As it is now, I don't get out of bed until like 10 AM b/c I cough all night. BUt even when my foot acts up, W.A. is something I CAN do (but like you said.. do I WANT to do it? Nuh uh.)
SANDY yeah mostly my issue now is just this dang cough. My throat is fine. I'm still a bit stuffy. But this cough is tiring me out. However I think using my nebulizer BEFORE I move into bronchitis is doing the trick. I hope. So far I've avoided a doctor, or antibiotics or prednisone.
UGH CONNIE ON YOUR SINUSES!! IIRC they ALMOST kept you from your scuba trip this past summer. That's the one thing I know I DO NOT have. I've only had sinusitis x2 in my life (knock on wood). My weak points are my bronchi and lungs.
Say WHAAAAAAAT ANGIE? You are looking forward to the gym? What's the matter w you. You best go to an urgent care b/c YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL. haha
I slept better last night. When I woke up at 5AM this time I just chugged another little cup of Nyquil and that put me back to sleep.... until 10 this morning. I still feel like of fuzzy but I don't have to go anywhere so I really NEEDED that sleep. Maybe a 2nd cuppa cawfee will wake me the heck up.
I've been at like 3K steps/day since I got sick so today, my goal will be 5K. I can do that w/o leaving the house but I also MUST go grocery shopping at some point today. Bob is having his 2nd Keytruda IV today. Wish him luck that he has no side effects. Last time he did amazingly well and HE swears some of his squamous cell lesions are shrinking after just 1 treatment. Since this has been ongoing since at least 2004, I'll reserve judgement but am hopeful as is his oncologist.

Went to the dentist this morning β took off the temporary crown and put on the real one. Talk about sensitive right now. But, thatβs normal.
CELESTE I am turning! I am turning! I felt it right after Christmas β like something was really changing for the better on this foot thing. And after my trip north and all that walking around, it seems like things are moving right along. I walk around the house without my boot (well, shuffle) and go back to the Dr. on Monday. Iβm expecting a good report. Glad you had a better [much needed] nightβs sleep. My very best wishes for BOB.
CONNIE Iβm sorry this crud has taken hold. Rest and feel better.
TERRY β your post reminded me that my food scale went dead and cannot be revived. I could not remember what I needed to order today.
SANDY woohoo on the scale.
My goals for Jan: β’ Lose 6# in January β’ No eating/snacking in the car β’ 40 oz water per day β’ Min 2 wt training sessions a week (until Iβm able to really get busy) β’ 5,000 steps per day (until da boot comes off) I need to get busy on a couple of those. Accountability and all that! LOL
Waving to everyoneβ¦enjoy the day.

Forgot to mention that both DH and I have a Sleep Test tonight. We both have use CPAPs for several years. DH longer than me. Our insurance with the City of El Paso is Atena. They were horrible about approving sleep tests. The last one I had done the PA had to jump thru hoops to get it approved. When she mentioned scheduling this one I reminded her that our retirement insurance was still Atena. She said oh that is ok you haven't had one under Medicare. They will pay for it and for a new machine. We both use one with the humidifier. Hoping we can get ones that aren't as bulky as the ones we have now. Of course for some reason I am so tired I feel like I could take a nap but don't want to cause then I wouldn't sleep tonight. Water Aeorbics was good. Felt good to be back. My friend that teaches it normally wouldn't teach again Monday but is subing for one of gals on Saturday morning so I will go. I can already feel the soreness from today. The second half of Thursday's class is play day. Normally we hit beach balls back and forth to each other. Today she had paddles and we hit balloons. You don't realize how much of a work out you get till later. Have a good day!

Ok so yesterday I bought canned great northern beans and I have turkey breast thawed. If I'm figuring this Freestyle thing correctly, I can make a small batch of turkey/beans stew sort of dish, use celery and green pepper, a little onion and it's 0 points! That would be really filling too. I also bought some high fiber bread that scanned as 1 pt per slice, I could have a slice of that and be totally within points AND have enough for a snack. Hmmm interesting... I'm hungry now, but my tooth is not up to eating, so I think I'll wait and enjoy a hearty dinner.

CELESTE- I have chronic sinusitis. So far my cough is productive. Not the flu, no body aches. Fever taken care of with ibuprofen. Was happy that my BP was 118/78. Got a clean bill of health from my OB/GYN. Picked up my antibiotic rx, and my OB called in Diflucan just in case it causes a yeast infection. I swear, I love her!
Went and picked out new frames. Will owe another $40 when I pick the glasses up as they were more expensive. (Naturally!)
Had a big Greek salad for lunch. Have chicken marinating in Carribean Jerk sauce that I will bake for supper. Have a frozen turkey breast thawing in the fridge to make in a couple of days.
SUZE- your zero point chicken/bean stew sounds yummy.

Good afternoon all! Hope the sickies are feeling better and the meds kick in. Left work early as we have @10-11" of snow on the ground already and it's supposed to snow until 9-10 tonight. We went from 1-4" forecast to BLIZZARD now! How can they have so many Doppler and radars and expensive equipment and still not be able to get the weather correctly??? Never ceases to amaze me! It's really windy with whiteout conditions. I went in to work mostly because I felt obligated as I am new there. Stayed about 3 1/2 hours. Brought work home that I will work on.
Hope those of you down south have warmed up today. We are expecting the temperatures to drop about 20 to 25 degrees after the storm, which will make the temperatures tonight be -10 to -15. Will be outside later after the snow stops so will definitely get some exercise.
Okay, everyone take care.
