Hello! Sounds like you all have been busy!!
Well, the streak is broken but I'm not too disappointed about it. I joined a new gym club and am so glad I did! I've started going to the 5:45am exercise classes on week days. MWF is spinning and TuTh is bootcamp. I was so wiped out after several days in a row of the exercise classes that last week on Wednesday I just pretty much passed out when I got home. Didn't realize until the next day that I never got a run or even a walk in -although I did do the 5:45am spinning class plus lifted weights that morning. So I had a good streak from Feb 11 up to May 2. Now I get to try again and go longer this time! I'm actually going to officially start another streak after my visit to my son and DIL in Boulder, CO next week. It would have been pretty awkward for me get out and run a mile everyday while I'm there although not impossible. I do expect to really up my stats though -my son and his wife are great walkers/hikers so we'll be putting in a lot of miles while I'm there!
I really needed this new gym! Between the finally decent weather and enjoying the new classes and the people in them, I think I'm getting my exercise mojo back again! I going to be a little sorry to miss classes next week! But only a little :-) My eldest son and my daughter are also flying out to Boulder within, so sort of a immediate family reunion!
Kellie- congrats on the new job! Your supervisor's attitude concerning your imminent leaving is bizarre! Sounds like moving on was the right move! If nothing else the much shorter commute will be nice. Great job getting in your WATP miles!
Carol- WTG with your walking! Your sister trip sounded really nice!
Cait- you sound much happier lately! I'm glad you and you hubby had a nice trip! Thanks for the vegan info, it's something I've been thinking about once I reached my goal weight. Although I don't know if I can give up my cheese!
Amy, I love cottage cheese and oatmeal! But not together! Hope you found the right combo of foods to help you stick to your plan!

Good Afternoon Walkers! Have been doing well the last 2 days - green zone of pts, only 0 pts non-trigger foods for evening snack, and did JGTB. Also we have walked every day and yesterday I did my phys therapy floor exercises first time since the low back fractures in December. I was pleasantly surprised that I could still do them. Iām a little sore today but not bad. This is a big improvement over my old pattern of post-travel return home eating. The JGTB and evening snack limitation are the major factors. Went to our āfacesā group yesterday - didnāt have any interest in the desserts, thank you God. The less I eat my trigger foods the less I crave them. For me itās the exact opposite of what some diet advice says about having small measured portions of your trigger foods. Iāve tried that for years but it just doesnāt work for me. DEBBIE - the Boulder trip sounds terrific! WTG with the exercise! I used to love cheese also. But cheese and other dairy products were trigger foods for me. I could eat whole pounds of it at a sitting š Have you read about the book āThe Cheese Trapā by Neal Barnard MD? After I read about the pro inflammatory effects of animal foods, it was a double reason to let them go. Actually Kaiser, the US largest HMO, now recommends plant based eating for all. share.kaiserpermanente.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/The-Plant-Based-Diet-booklet.pdfwww.kphealthyme.com/Healthy-Eating-Active-Living-Programs/Plant-based-Dietwww.thepermanentejournal.org/files/Spring2013/Nutrition.pdfBut I like many people sort of came to it gradually. Then 4 years ago when I was diagnosed with bad arthritis and osteoporosis I started reading and decided to do WFPB for the anti-inflammatory benefits. AMY - GFY Planning your food for the convention. KELLY - those weekends - aarrgghh! Itās like we have to change the mindset. Waving at everyone! Have a great day! Cait

Good Morning!!
Having a good week with staying OP. They are having lunch for us at work. They are having food from Isaacs delivered I will try to avoid the cookies. They are also going to have fruits and veggies. Bummed as TOM arrived last night I had made it 5 months and thought I was finished.
I added a 5-mile WATP yesterday.
Cait: Glad you are having a good week.
Debbie: Welcome back. sorry about the streak but you had great workouts so don't beat yourself up. Oh, it has been interesting the last few weeks. Constantly being asked if I am getting everyone trained. I have to bite my tongue as no one trained me to do the authorizations I had to teach myself as about a month into being hired my coworker went on an unexpected FMLA. Yesterday they had me run a script to the Hanover office for a patient. The one office secretary says I should say no if you couldn't work with me why should I do you all any favors. I can't be like that even though I would love too.
Waving to all. Have a great day.

Good Afternoon Walkers!
Yesterday we walked 2.1 miles am and half way through the walk I remembered something I needed to do for work ASAP so we really hoofed it back at a good clip!
Green zone of pts, only fruit and unsalted pumpkin seeds for evening snack, and did JGTB.Yay!
KELLY - wow they are not real sensitive to the irony and the thoughtless way they treat people! GFY with a plan for the delivered meal at work.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Good Morning!!
I had a good day yesterday. Kept the eating under control. I did have a cookie but kept everything in the count. I added a 4-mile WATP.
Cait: I have done that with my DH. We have been out and all the sudden I will remember something I was supposed to do for someone and start rushing like I was responding to a fire. Yes, the insensitive and thoughtless ways have verified that I am making the right decision.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Happy Friday everyone! Amy and Cait, I think vegan would be tough for me because I really like having an egg for breakfast! Cait, I want to look at those sites you posted, though. I know there are many benefits to eating less meat. I'm not real "up" on the inflammation issue, but I probably should educate myself. Kelly, the sooner you are out of that office the better! Debbie, your streak was amazing! I'm glad you like your new gym, too. One of my goals this summer is to get back to the gym for circuit (strength) work twice a week. My poor old bones need it! Wednesday I went to the pool, hoping some of my AquaFit buddies would show up, but no one did. I put myself through my paces for 45 minutes and rinsed off (no hot water this week -- shut down for maintenance). I meant to go home and shower, but I went home and sat down. END OF STORY! Anyway, counting 2 miles for my workout. 8 walking miles Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I am heading home pretty soon, so I'll walk or bike later. Good Afternoon Walkers! Yesterday 2.1 mile walk plus 1 mi credit for standing phys therapy exercises, green zone of pts, 0 pts non trigger foods for evening snack and did JGTB. Iāve gotten past a few urges when feeling actually hungry with 0 pts non-trigger foods as snack. And prayer. And observing the physical sensations. And drinking water and green tea. Iāve been reading up on the science about hunger and urges. Putting up with a little hunger wonāt kill me. I used to feel like my head would explode unless I followed those eating urges. In addition to the mental part, Iām thinking that I may have hormonal hyper-sensitivity to hunger sensations and lower satiety hormones. So Iām just practicing observing it all. I know Iāve had enough to eat. And more is rarely enough and just starts a chain reaction. CAROL - GFY with the Aquafit and other exercise. LOL re the sitting. Iāve done a lot of it this week! Itās so great out, I have lots of books to catch up on, and I have such a nice chair on the deck, and the view! At least Iāve done exercise also and 4 days OP eating. But I need to do bills and office work. KELLY - GFY with the WATP - and one cookie and counting it! Wish I could do that! Waving at everyone! Have a great day! Cait

Cait, such a beautiful scene! Is that from your deck or along your walk?
Yesterday (Friday), I came home and wound up planting the rest of my backyard planters. I have four pretty big ones that hang on the side of the garage, and I had to replace cocoa mats in two of them. It wasn't as hard as I expected, and they do look better. Anyway, that's the long way to say I didn't get a nice walk or bike ride in.
I walked for two miles this morning, and when I got back home my lower back was really hurting, so I did a 25-minute stretching session focusing on "back care." I'm happy to say it worked!
Have a good weekend, everyone.

Good Afternoon Walkers!
Yesterday 2.1 mi walk am downriver with DH, ate peanut butter pretzels with evening snack š so red zone of pts but didnāt go above that, and did JGTB. The 4 OP days in a row were apparently just too good to continue. But at least I did my other key Healthy Habits and didnāt go above my red zone. Baby steps.
One of my OA friends said the other day āPractice, not perfection.ā I liked that.
This am I slept in, so breakfast was late but we did walk upriver 2.2 miles round trip. Picked up a lot of trash. Weāve been doing that on our 2 mile stretch of road for the 14 years weāve lived here. I just saw on FB that picking up trash while walking is now a āthingā LOL!
Just enjoying the weather, the deck, birds, butterflies, flowers, new bright green tips on the firs and cedars, so much. Warblers, towhees, grosbeak. Ducks are racing up and down the river. Geese too, in the am. Vultures soaring in pairs and groups. A jay just came and perched on the deck rail and put in his two cents worth!
CAROL - The photo is from our deck so you can see why itās hard to go inside and ādo stuff!ā GFY with the productive plant work, Walk and stretching.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Cait, I would never go inside with that view! Fun! "Plogging" is a Swedish term for picking up litter while jogging, so maybe you are "Plalking."
Amy, good luck on your classes!
I went for a short walk, counting 2 miles, and stretched.

Good Morning!!
What a busy weekend. We did the usual errands on Saturday am. Then walked around a local town for their annual Yard Sale. Disappointing not near as many were set up as usual. Then we started on the room move. Decided to give my DS the larger bedroom that was known as the Cat room and also holds Computer and usually where I do MY WATPs. We have to finish painting the room that my son was in. We painted half of it so at least I could place the computer and the boxes that hide the litterboxes.
Eating was actually not too bad this weekend.
Cait: That view. is beautiful. I did get some books to read at the yard sales. I have a few to finish on my kindle. One is the first book of a trilogy that I found the other 2 books at the yard sale for 50 cents.
Carol: Great job doing the Aquafit class without your friends and getting the walk in.
Amy: Waving hope all is well. Have you started doing your treadmill or WATP's again.

Good morning from Boulder,CO! I'm posting from a borrowed laptop so not sure how consistent I'll be but will try!
CAIT: WHAT a glorious view! My son just walked in the door from dropping his wife off at work so am going to need to get off the laptop for now, rats! Thanks for the links Cait, I will check them out later today as the weather is not being very cooperative for us walkers/hikers, lots of stormy weather off and on today and tomorrow! Clear at the moment so need to head out while weather isn't ugly.
KELLY: how obnoxious!! Good for you taking the high road, which must be tough! Although in the long run you'll be rewarded with no regrets I believe.
CAROL: bummer none of your buddies were there for Aquafit. WTG working yourself by yourself!
AMY: sorry you're having problems with your dietary choices!
Whoops! Gotta go but will try to check back and get more up to date!
Happy belated Mother's Day to all you momma's!

Good Morning!!!
Good day, yesterday. Walked away from cupcakes that were in the breakroom. I added a 3-mile walk. Made another delivery to the Hanover office so I got home early and had a nice evening. The one front office manager was there and the office manager for the Surgical schedulers too. The office manager says hey watcha ya doing here. I said you know " Kelly's delivering service." Her response was" Oh you are good enough to deliver and pick up from the office but they will not let you work from here." My response was " Be good." As I know the surgical scheduler will report the front office manager to the Practice Manager.
Debbie: Hope you enjoyed your day.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!
