CONNIE glad they at LEAST sent in some reinforcements at the 2 ends of your shift b/c like we said, 1 human being can only do so much. It must have taken some of the stress off you just KNOWING.
SANDY that's not much rain but I guess better than nothing since you guys are so DRY.

I knew it was too good to be true. I had some good to stellar nights' sleep and then last night came. I'm still taking only 1/2 of the unisom and I fell asleep fine. Woke up at 3:45 and I was wide awake. You can tell I was restless b/c my bed looks like a tornado hit it. Sheets and blanket all pulled out. And I RUINED my NO S for yesterday b/c finally I got up and ate an entire 50 lb wheel of cheese. (OK I didn't eat that much but if I had it here I would have). Weirdly I don't even remember swallowing the last bite bc after tossing and turning for an hour, I ate and I was OUT for the next 3 hours (didn't awaken until 10!) Not really sure what was up. Usually I can't turn my mind off and I'm worrying about something. Not so last night. Just plain annoying. OTOH I'm grateful that I didn't have to get up and be at a job. I'd be a zombie.
So I'm waking myself up w/ a cuppa or 2. Then eventually to the grocery store.

I feel your pain, CELESTE. I got home at 7:20 and was in bed by 7:30. I think I fell asleep in less than 5 minutes. But I woke up at 12:30 and have been up ever since. I will definitely be a zombie tonight. No idea why I woke up or why I couldn't go back to sleep. Might try again shortly. I also raided the fridge a bit while awake. Avacado on whole grain toast. Yum! Was hoping a full tummy would make me drowsy.
SUZE- I have a question for you....What do you MEAN I don't have enough credits to graduate? And What are you going to do to fix it?

Putting my feet up for a few minutes. We are packed & car loaded. When DDIL / Cara get home from school we will hit the road & head for home. We will get there around 10 so that frees everyone up tomorrow.
Nice morning....dropped by Caraโs classroom to see some things she wanted to share with us, peeked in DDILs room so Connor could give mom an extra hug....then played ion the playground until a class came out for PE. Stopped at a couple of stores we donโt have at home, drove thru a couple of neighborhoods....then went to a nature center for some walking & exploration. Connor & DH napping...I have our linens washed & will remake the bed as soon as they finish drying. Dishes caught up. Going home to rest up ....ha!
Need to read posts & check back.... to

Being a weather station and a weather.com geek, that storm that went thru the northeast... YIKES do they think they're in TX? With the tornadoes, straight line winds, tennis ball sized hail! Hope JT is OK b/c CT was apparently hit by this "Derecho". CONNIE I had avocado toast too but I put a poached egg on top of mine. It will hold me until dinner w/o being hungry at all. ANGIE now that you're both retired, do you have any intention of moving closer to DS and DDIL? I did my Walmart run. So it's clean and airy and nice and not crowded. But boy do they "encourage" you to check out your own groceries. They had about a dozen self checks but ONE full service check out line. And when you have all this weird stuff like a box of refrigerator wine (I never bought it... it says CHILLABLE RED) but since I don't drink wine, it's for BOB so if it's awful I'm off the hook for drinking it. But of course the checker person has to OK alcohol purchases. It says "is the customer less than 40" and she immediately checked no. WHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTT you don't think I look less than 40? OK maybe if it said "LESS THAN 70? " But while there I thought I was going to faint. I got clammy and dizzy. I sat in their easy chairs (they have like a living room set up that you can sit in and have someone shop for you) until I felt better. But it was so hot out there I had to sit in the car w/ the A/C blasting. I think I got overheated but I DEFINITELY got dehydrated. Got home and threw back a Snapple and a glass of Hibiscus tea. I was going to sit out by the pool but I don't think I'll leave this house and the A/C until tonight when I'll try to get in my 8.5K steps. But it's really hot and awful out there and NO BREEZE. So from CT to TX to WV to IOWA, please be careful out there. Mother Nature's evidently PMSing. Also GA if LOUISE is out there!!

Celeste I'm glad it cooled off up there so you could get your steps in last night. It didn't cool off here until this morning.I was surprised to see it was 68 after I woke up this morning. However it is 97 right now.Yeah I get it about wanting paper bills & I don't mind.On Sunday's I schedule bills to be paid for the upcoming week, put what amount Kenneth should pay,he writes the date he paid, check#,etc on the receipt and I file them all in my book.Poor thing today he was going to write out 2 bills and he shredded one by mistake. So I will get last month's bill and call them b/c it's hard to pay Synchrony bills online. It always tells me my login info doesn't match theirs so it's just easier to call on that one.
Connie I'm glad you are getting some help at work.
I haven't slept well the last few nights either.I finally found some 5 mg Melatonin and it doesn't help.I'm like Celeste.I'm glad I don't work or I would be a zombie.
Angie Have a safe trip home.Glad you enjoyed yourselves.
Celeste Our WM is the same way.All we needed there today was cat litter so Kenneth went in but they never have more than 1-2 regular cashiers. If I go in I will use the self checkout lane. It's just as easy & quick if I don't have much.HEB doesn't have any self checkout lanes and since we buy most of our regular groceries there it works out fine. Were you outside of WM when you got clammy and dizzy?Be careful. It's always so cold inside the grocery stores at least in the grocery aisles so when I go outside it does feel warm but we mainly go in the mornings before it hits 90.Since it's 96 & supposed to get up to 98 or so tomorrow I bought Scooter more Frosty Paws. With her being all black she gets hot outside unless she lays under the porch.Last night she was hot in the house so she wanted to sleep on the porch.Evidently it was cooler on her recliner.
I have been getting my steps in the house and riding the recumbent bike 20 min @ a time and I already have in over 9000 steps so I will just get in 3 more hrs @250 steps/hr and 20 more min on the bike.I did get in about 2000 steps at HEB which helped also.

Hey all. Hope everyone is well. I can't believe the pictures I'm seeing of areas here in CT after the storm yesterday. Just about a 1/4 of a mile south of my house, there are trees down blocking roads. When I went to bed last night, I heard chain saws and couldn't figure out why. We only had a few branches down, so I was shocked to see roads completely blocked. Take a look at some of the pictures if your interested. www.nbcconnecticut.com/It will be months for the cleanup for some of these areas. Fortunately, we only had 2 deaths, but 2 deaths too many. Schools were closed today and again tomorrow. They said a macroburst came through in one area and they are still looking at other areas. They also said there was a meteo tsunami in Long Island Sound. Very unusual weather. So Celeste, what got you so overheated and dehydrated today? Hope you are feeling better. Angie, hope you had a safe trip home today. Connie, don't work too hard tonight. Waving to everyone else. Happy Thursday. JT

Wow on all that damage JT. That's too close for comfort.I'm sorry anyone had to die in that weather.I hope the area can get back to some sense of normal sooner than later.I'm glad you just had a few branches down & weren't in the middle of all that.

BECKY do you do walk away the pounds or something? No way I can walk around my 1700 SF house that much. I get DIZZY LOL I think I'll buy frosty paws for myself, and take a bath in it.
When I was at WM I was inside when I started to feel yuck, but I'd spent a lot of time walking around the garden center there looking for potting soil and vegetable garden food. Found plenty of the 1st and none of the 2nd. And it was HOT out there w/ no A/C and no breeze. I drank like crazy when I got home and felt so much better. I tend to have coffee in the AM (which has a bit of a diuretic effect AND I take my diuretic in the AM) so I have to work harder at avoiding dehydration when it's this hot.
WOW JT we were thinking of you. That Brookfield Farm is like a PANCAKE. Looks like it collapsed in on itself. Sounds like mostly you dodged a bullet. I think on my dehydration I just don't pay enough attention to keeping my fluid levels up in this heat. I sweat like crazy when it's this hot and humid, my diuretic really WORKS too.
SO I submitted my purchase agreement on my little house as per the Rapid Review and got what seemed to me like a very snippy reply this evening (though maybe I'm reading something in to it so I'd welcome feedback). This is what she said (copy and paste the ENTIRE communication from her):
"I would like to know how you were able to get a price lower then multiple other home the same square footage as yours. Kacie Stogdill, RPA"
I said, I believed there was some mistake somewhere, b/c I did NOT pay any less than anyone else per square foot. I paid what Del Webb says I had to pay. And as I said, this same little house right now is $253,999 BRAND NEWLY BUILT, NOT $289,000 like the appraiser seems to think. I am guessing that perhaps the tax records have the wrong square footage for my house??? UGGHHH why can't life be easy? But if I don't get it straightened out this year, each year I'll be paying for more square footage than I actually have. I sent her a link and screen shot for the CURRENT price for the model I bought. I also sent her my closing statement from the escrow company. Snippy bitch. I wonder if she's related to Mr. WhataBOOGER @ the SS administration.

8500 steps: CHECKAROONIES No S: well I blew that one last night but I've been no S'ing well today.
SUZE: Bob's doing very well on No S (of course, damn man!!) Someone at work asked him what he was doing and he explained it and of course they're all "Well WHAT IF?" and "You mean you can EAT THIS?" Anyway, one of the gals said "I'm starting this TOMORROW." Today another gal came up and said "don't tell anyone but I'm starting the No S today too." It's contagious.
I had about 1.25 miles to walk to get to my 8500 so I went out there at about 9. It was still as a tomb; no breeze and no one driving or walking about, but it was tolerable temp wise at 82. My knee hurts so much the past few days, so it was a slow go but I got 'er done.
Now to get ready for bed. I think I'll once again put together my tax appeal in case I need to fight this further. I have until the 18th to efile if I don't hear favorably from Rapid Response. Heck they can come out there and measure it themselves if they don't believe me it's 1411. grrrrrrrrrrr

Welcome home ANGIE. I'm sure it will be nice to sleep in your own bed.
JT- It's always a shock when Mother Nature decides to whallop a neighborhood. Let's hope people had insurance. And so sad that there were fatalities.
The lady from the company that installed my windows called to tell me that she had sent a guy to the rental to measure for the stone I wanted around the foundation. The thing is, I don't want REAL stone. I want the stuff that LOOKS like stone. She is determined to make the price so high that I won't want to do it. I'm really thinking the other company may get this job. She is wearing me out. She keeps saying they can't get the fake stuff. Well, heck, they carry it at both Lowes and Home Depot for heaven's sake!
