Anyone is welcome to join the SMART weight loss goals.
Specific Measurable Actionable Realistic Time limited
You can pick as many or as few goals as you like. They can be daily, weekly or monthly. It's up to each individual. Keep us posted on how you're doing w/ the goals and how/if it's showing up on the scale!
AND if you aren't into goals... now or ever... no big deal. Friendship, accountability and support... they don't HAVE to have goals.
Lastly if you have goals that aren't related to weight loss, that works too. Like "making me time"

Good Morning…slept pretty well but still did not crawl out of bed at 5 for a workout. I’ll go home at lunch and let Lu out, so I can go to the gym directly after work.
SANDY is that a pic of you? Cute!
JT sounds like a nice quiet Mother’s Day – love grilled shrimp. Enjoy dinner out tonight.
CONNIE I can take or leave steak until every once in a while – but grilled ribeyes – omg yum.
CELESTE the first year or two in TX we drove up to Austin for something and went to a bridge where thousands and thousands of bats fly out at dusk. I have no idea what it’s called, but it was interesting and creepy at the same time. I’ll have to look up a couple places you have on your list. Broken Bow/Beavers Bend is nice; it’s been a few years since I’ve been up there. I’d love to go to Caddo Lake and explore the bayous in a canoe. Wow, now that’s an interesting Mother’s Day. The same happened to my cousin – he discovered when he got a foreclosure notice that his dw was not paying the mortgage, but going to the casino wither her bf instead. I didn't go off the rails or anything, but need to concentrate so I am back to NoS with diligence today.
Grades roll tomorrow so today is my last day of catch up before the craziness starts for me. Enjoy the day - BBL
Goals: No Sweets, Snacks or Seconds 10K steps x 7 days Min 48 oz H20 per day 12 flights x 5 days 180 min exercise per week

CONNIE G/L w/ the financial guy. I agree that w/o the financial plan we're just muddling through. But i really want a crystal ball to see how long does this have to last me? I actually think I'm being too fiscally conservative currently. And since IMHO life is short I want to enjoy life as much as possible w/o eating cat food the last years of my life. OTOH I don't want to go and leave a pile of cash I could have been enjoying. And I've had 4 financial advisers from 3 different investment companies. And I've NEVER felt 100% convinced that I've gotten an answer to HOW MUCH DO I NEED? For me the value in my current guy is that his company has access to investment products that you or I as an individual wouldn't have the funds to access. Like there are some funds that you need a minimum of $50,000,000 to bring to the table or you can't participate. So they pool investors' funds to reach the $50Mill mark. I just always seem to meet, and leave w/ more questions. As for my g/f, when she asked Richard WHY he hadn't paid, he just looked sheepish and shrugged and did one of those "I dunno" things. She went OFF!! What do you mean "IDUNNO? " We know it's not drugs or other women. He's never been into gambling before but he's ALWAYS ALWAYS on the computer playing this or that. He's always been a D&D type nerd but this 8 hours in a row or MORE stuff is new. He's addicted but does that cost money? It's probably not porn either b/c his computer is in an office w/ glass french doors so he's open to full view. They're both obviously COMPLETELY unhappy and she's beyond wanting to fix it. She just wants out. There's no sex, and now no companionship AND no money... which is still a mystery. What's the point? When they married, sex was "meh" (he's the 45 year old virgin), money was adequate for their needs, but they seemed to do stuff together. Now? NEVER. She kind of knew what she was getting into when they married but now he's MORE SO. (or less so I guess, b/c it's less of the things that are important). The only good thing about it, is that it makes me appreciate my situation in life. Kind of like SANDY's old signature about throwing all our problems in a pile, and if we had to take some back, we'd probably take our own back at the end of the day. THANKS for starting us up SUZE. NOTHING except bunco tonight. Left overs for Meal 2. I need to get an electrician to come in and switch out my bedroom ceiling fan. Mine TICKS and CLICKS but irregularly so I'll fall asleep to quiet and wake to CLICK CLICK....Tickticktick.... CLICK. I'll have him move it to the office b/c the noise is fairly quiet and so it won't bother me in there. It's just laying in bed that it's UGH. Other than that I'm HOPEFULLY in for a quiet week.

SANDY MARFA is really high on my list. And I guess it's also become quite a mecca for off beat artists.

SANDY look at you sashaying with those hands on hips. I never had saddle shoes, but always wanted a pair.
Oh man! Just looked up Marfa – that is way up there for sure! And soaring over Marfa is top of the list.

haha @ Marfa under the bridge! I've never been thru the Austin Capitol building but since my DSIL essentially WORKS there and my DD is just not in to that kind of thing and since BOB is not a history buff, I'm thinking that's not happening. Of course Meridith being 8 month pregnant more or less when we visit, I don't see us doing a TON of stuff. She said the best thing about being pregnant is she sleeps like a stone. AND naps. She is like me normally... a crappy sleeper. I guess her system is reacting to her hormones too w/ the pregnancy.
NOPE SUZE. No donuts, please. B/c then it's that slipper slope thing. A donut here. A cookie there. Then the No S just becomes a joke. Go and get yourself a big-ass donut this Saturday (you probably won't want it but don't deprive yourself if you DO want it). I have found for me the KEY to staying on this is to indulge myself on the S days. That way I can honestly tell myself "if you still want it on Saturday you CAN have it!" Seriously that helps me a lot.
People.it's HOT. It's pollen-y. It's humid. Just in case no one realized that.
I did a wee bit of re-organizing some of my bookshelves. They were so crammed w/ books (and misc. other crap) that I didn't know what I had, and to take out one thing, I would wind up with a cascade of books on the floor. It's better. Not good. Just not so bad.

The Congress Avenue bridge is where the bats congregate in Austin.
Celeste I'm sorry about your g/f's troubles with her soon to be ex I presume. That is just rotten with no explanation to go with it.It is hot & humid. It's 90 here right now. They are predicting 96 for Wednesday & 98 for Thursday. They said those temps don't normally make it until the first week in July.
Suze You never had saddle shoes??? You must be young.
We went grocery shopping this morning.Chili beans are gone so it's pork chops tonight.
Goals: 9000 steps x 5 days minimum of 30 minutes activity x 5 days 80 oz water or more a day Limit of 1 DDP a day

BECKY well, I AM young LOL.
CELESTE right-E-O. That's exactly why I slammed the lid on that box and am NOT having a donut. And I seriously doubt I'll want one on Sat. If I'm not being mindless, something like a donut is easy to talk myself out of. Now a slice of carrot cake sitting in front of me on an S day may be a different story...

I SPIT ON THAT CARROT CAKE YA KNOW!!
BECKY I think that's what REALLY has my G/f upset. I mean if your significant other sits down w/ you and says "Well we had to repair this. We had to buy that. This source of income was less than anticipated....." then you go forward and figure out a plan and there aren't surprises. It doesn't make it EASY but it makes it understandable and it puts the 2 people on the same path toward handling it. If HE is supposed to pay the mortgage (she pays utilities etc etc so she's not just twiddling her thumbs), and he is APPARENTLY clueless about how it happened, how do you fix it? But IMHO He KNOWS exactly what's happened but either he doesn't want to face it or just flat out isn't going to share w/ her. So how can she try to help fix it? "meh!" "I don't care" and "I dunno" are 3 of the hardest responses to deal with. What do you say to that?
I have no idea how I'll get in my steps. B/c it's going to have to be done inside or LATE. I Didn't even make it around my cul de sac. I wilt easily b/c I'm a little GARDENIA 💮 (yeah that's what everyone says haha).

A little break in the action here. Hanging out today with 3 of my favorite guys...DH, DS, and Connor. The big guys put the finishing touches on a yard project they started yesterday (removal of a big stump), we went to McD’s for lunch. While Connor napped DS went to an appt and we sat on their screened in porch. It was sunny earlier but has since gotten cloudy, cooler, & even a few sprinkles. But.....there is NO SNOW....only green grass, a few dandelions, & trees with new leaves. Finally!!!
So nice to see both kids & families yesterday....who could ask for anything more?
Need to catch up on posts for the past couple of days...
Time to help get dinner started for the crew....bbl

Celeste I can understand why your g/f is upset. It sounds to me like he's done something shady and was unable to make the payments.Kenneth & I have a deal where if either one of us wants to spend over $100 on something we discuss it first. If we were each paying for different utilities or bills there wouldn't be a problem but Kenneth gets regular SS and I'm getting SSD plus a retirement check and it all goes in the same account.I schedule the bills but he writes them out and gets them ready to mail and then I file the receipts.I keep up with how much we should pay on each bill so there's no surprises.
I got some of my steps in HEB.I have done 2 rounds of 20 min on the bike so far with 1 more round to go plus 2 more hours of getting my 250 steps in.If we are going to buy groceries in the morning I don't walk.On the days we don' go I may try a short walk in the mornings depending on the temperature. My right knee is feeling some better today so I may try a walk tomorrow depending on how the knee feels in the morning unless something else comes up.I don't walk once it hits 80 anymore.
Suze I know you are young but I thought you would have had those kind of shoes.I think they were called oxford shoes when I was younger.Yes I was younger at one time. LOL.
