Anyone is welcome to join the SMART weight loss goals.
Specific Measurable Actionable Realistic Time limited
You can pick as many or as few goals as you like. They can be daily, weekly or monthly. It's up to each individual. Keep us posted on how you're doing w/ the goals and how/if it's showing up on the scale!
AND if you aren't into goals... now or ever... no big deal. Friendship, accountability and support... they don't HAVE to have goals.
Lastly if you have goals that aren't related to weight loss, that works too. Like "making me time"

SANDY, bkfst on the patio sounds so lovely. I have a nice patio w/ a view of trees and I never sit there. Not even in the screen porch. B/c I just don't think of it. I'm inspired. The next evening that it isn't 90 degrees I'm going to serve dinner out there (since bkfst is usually around 12:30 and is usually solo).
Thanks for starting us up, Mizz Angie.
I slept pretty well which goes to show how well the pellets work. I've had way more GOOD nights' sleep than bad since I got them. Now I need to stop reading until all hours of the AM.
SANDY, I know from when you tell us what you've read, that you and I like the same books often. Has anyone read Dunaway's Crossing? It takes place during the 1918 Influenza epidemic that killed so many people world wide. My ex's paternal grandmother died from influenza in 1918, so I'm particularly fascinated. They were from a very wealthy family so could have all the best health care but she died at age 28 when my ex DFIL was only 3. I started the book when I got into bed and I'm almost halfway through. Hence I'm TIRED b/c I read until way too late. Again.

Sounds like an interesting book, Celeste...especially given the connection with your exโs family member. Enjoying s meal on the patio/ porch is so much fun. We do it often when dgks are here...but even just the two of us from time to time. Seems more relaxing somehow.
Thanks for all the kind thoughts & prayers for Rickโs dad. They did not keep him in the hospital... meds, fluids & on your way! He reportedly feels better today & goes back to the dr this afternoon. The seeds for accepting home health / homemaker services / assisted living have been planted....weโll see where that goes.
Getting some cleaning done today. Resuming low carb. Pushing fluids & steps. Same old same old ๐

ANGIE has your DFIL reached this ripe old age w/o any regular assistance (other than family and friends I mean)? If so how REMARKABLE is that? And as far as home health and in home assistance, he'll realize it's not as if he's giving up his independence.
I finally broke down and ordered a new phone. I really prefer Galaxy but mine is so old and it's all messed up. I almost never use it but I recently bought an LG dryer and you could "text a photo" of the box on the registration card instead of mailing it in. EVER since I did that I've been getting a barrage of CRAP each time I open it up. I almost NEVER use my cell b/c my reception this close to the lake is awful. Half the time I never even know where it is. But all this junk coming in has been the final straw. Unfortunately Virgin Mobile (only $35/month for unlimited everything) now ONLY sells iPhones so I got an iphone 8. Not happy but I'm not computer savvy enough to buy a smartphone online and "unlock" (whatever that means) and synch w/ my Virgin Plan. In the mode of making life easier I just get my phones from Virgin at the going rate I could get it elsewhere. Next up will be activating it which I don't look forward to since I'm a computer simpleton. I'll call and have them walk me through it b/c I DO follow instructions very well. Mostly. Usually.
Trying to walk outside instead of 250 steps more like almost 500 b/c otherwise I'll never get to 9K today, esp. w/ Bunco. When I played bingo this weekend, between games, I'd get up and walk the periphery of the room and someone finally says "Are you trying to get your steps in?" I mean it was at the point where I was just waving madly each time I did a circuit! LOL
Left overs for dinner and bunco tonight. I won last week at bunco and Saturday I won at Bingo. I'm on a roll, I tell ya! haha

Celeste...yes...DFIL has managed on his own all these yrs. DMIL has been gone for almost 15 yrs now. He stayed in their little house for 8 yrs then moved into an apartment complex. He used to go to the local senior center for lunch, but since they deliver to his complex, he has just been staying there for about the past year. He makes the rest of his meals & is s good cook. He still drives ...which makes us all shudder. He mainly goes to appointments, errands, & church. He can use public transportation, but he doesnโt like to wait for it! The brother who lives in the same town takes him out for lunch & to get groceries a couple of times of week....so he is driving very seldom any more...which is good. Wish they would just pick him up for church, too...but so far that hasnโt happened. He had a heart attacking when he was 40...but recovered & has been going strong since Iโve been in the family. He does have a pacemaker & a stent or 2...but for 95 he is pretty amazing.

Have you had an iPhone before? I love mine. Donโt you have an iPad? You will find them very similar. And donโt forget that google & YouTube are your best โhow to โ friends if you get stuck.

CELESTE- Good luck at Bunco. I got my steps in this morning before I went to bed. And it's a good thing because I have a feeling I will be useless this evening. Turn around day is hard on an old woman!
I heard from both of the siding contractors today. That woman whose company installed my windows is going to have to call me back (for a third time!). The other company gave me a price with the faux stone I wanted around the foundation and on the chimney, and a price for just siding without the faux stone. (No drama). I know who I'd rather work with, but DH and I must discuss the price...at least, whether we want to pay for the higher priced option.
I am dropping the financial paperwork off to the financial guy tomorrow. No telling how long it will take him to analyze it all. And I need to have a paper recorded with the county over the bank payoff of my 2nd mortgage. (Or RE-mortgage of my 2nd mortgage to be more accurate.) There's something else I need to do, but can't think of it. Probably need to make a list.
Want to schedule a massage for some time this week. Am going to the movies with DSIL tomorrow evening. We are going to see Book Club. I can't wait. It has Candice Bergen in it and I just LOVE her. Also Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Mary Steenbergen, Don Johnson, Craig T. Nelson, Richard Dreyfus....truly an all star cast!
We may get storms this evening. Has been raining all around us the last several days, but most of it hasn't hit us.

ANGIE that is amazing and admirable! 95 and going strong. Well strong for 95 (or 85 for that matter). I bet he's a cool dude! If SUZE is the Energizer Bunny, then he can be a TIMEX... takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'.
I had an iPhone 4 but they say that one had abysmal audio and I agreed. I got so tired of "Can you repeat that? excuse me?" and that was in an area w/ excellent cell coverage. I used to be strictly an Apple person and had an iphone, ipad, ipod and Macbook. I still have the ipad and ipod (so much lighter than a phone to carry around for music when I walk). Also Windows 10 is so close to the apple IOS that there won't be much of a learning curve (or re-learning curve) I hope. And the 8 is bigger than the 4 (or my galaxy). I hate texting or doing anything on the net b/c the onscreen keyboard is minuscle on my small Galaxy 5. I don't get how people read online books on a cell phone. I'd have to set the print so large that I'd get about 6 words/screen.
I think I mentioned how yesterday I "ACCIDENTALLY" (yes it's true) ordered a new laptop b/c this one is giving me fits. But it's Windows 10. And eventually I want a new desketop and it will be windows. I'm an equal opportunity idiot when it comes to computers.
500 steps at a time I've gotten in 5,000 so far. And it's 90 and muggy and not a whisper of breeze. I go out and come back a sweaty Betty.

CONNIE IMHO all those chores you have to do and have been doing are SO TEDIOUS. Financial guy and estimates and bank statements ... OH MY. And remember you can't exactly put a number on the value of working w/ someone who is on the ball and you'd be confident in. But it's worth SOMETHING. Do they both get equal reviews on Yelp/Google/Nextdoor?

Eating on the patio does sound like fun.We don't have one and it's just easier since our table is in the kitchen and we don't have a dining room.
Celeste I hope you get your new phone activated. After having so much trouble with Sprint we just went to using Verizon no contract phones.Mine is a plain Samsung J1(I think)smartphone and Kenneth has a flip phone. He doesn't use the internet.I only use mine when my satellite internet is down and for tracking on Itrackbites. We get unlimited talk & text and I get 7 GB data with my month to month plan.We just go to Best Buy and buy the cards and they call Verizon.I could probably do that myself but Kenneth likes to have his done and we usually just put it on the BB card & pay it off when the bill comes in.It's nice not to have to depend on satellite internet when there's bad weather & it goes out.I have gotten in 9000 steps & will probably get in my goal of 9500 with one more 20 minutes on the bike.I have taken off the reminders for the hourly 250 steps but still try to get in most of the ones I did have previously set.
Angie That is amazing for a 95 yo man.Kenneth used to work with a man who is just 10 days younger than Kenneth and he had a pacemaker put in last week. Also our friend who was so ill for awhile is going to have 2 holes in her heart repaired tomorrow and she is in her 70's.Your DFIL is doing amazingly well for his age.I had an IPhone 6 once but I didn't particularly care for it but it was while we had Sprint so instead of getting to keep the phone if I didn't upgrade I had to send it back since it was a lease.
Connie Enjoy the movie tomorrow.I like everyone in that cast except Jane Fonda.
It's thundering here but not raining and knowing my internet company it will go down soon.

Both businesses have good reviews, but I think the window place does more windows than siding. The other place is exclusively siding.
I was telling DH about the quote and he starts giving me all of these specifics he wants done on the job. Well, nice time to mention it.....AFTER everyone has priced the job! I am LIVID. I actually yelled at him. (Which I NEVER do.) I feel like he is wasting my time having me get estimates and then changing the scope or materials of the job. I don't have time for this crap!

Heading to the gym for at least 30 min on the elliptical to unwind.

CONNIE in your case, since you both agree that something is going to be done, either HE takes care of it or YOU do. You don't need to be micro-managed and if it's so technical and he has such specific requirements, I'd suggest he step up and TCB(after you've done the lion's share). DANG SUZE I swear I never get tired of that photo of Lulu. I did a "copy image" on it and put it in my photo folder. Such a doll. She has Petey's big brown sad experessive eyes.
