irisinnia, hello! I hope this Friday morning finds you all well. We're expecting some rainy, stormy weather later today here on the Texas coast. I found a recipe for bread in a crock pot, I may give that a try this weekend. Sounds a bit iffy to me lol.

Good morning
irisinnia, good to see you. You are at the right place! We are all kind of struggling right now. Hang in there and check in more often.
DotRen, I have heard of bread in the crock pot. Let us know if you try it.
cj59, put the brakes on now if you can. I wish I had listened to my mother when she said that to me. I know how hard it is to turn it around. But you can do it (and so can I). I think I will concentrate on water today.
I got in 18,471 steps yesterday. That was good for me. I need to keep moving.

Hello Everyone
irisinnia - It's good to see you. You and I can give each other a kick and maybe that will get us going in the right direction
DotRen - let us know how that bread works. I wish I'd never gotten the itch to make homemade bread. I'm always wanting to try new recipes!
sunrose - Congrats on the steps!
I hear you on stopping before it gets too late. I think I'm getting close to that point. There isn't really much food left that I can't wait to eat because I haven't eaten it in so long, etc. This is what I have a problem with - feeling denied of foods and then going crazy eating them. I would love to come up with a workable plan that lets me have those days of eating that type of food but still staying on track.
I'll try to eat better between now and Christmas when I will make a few treats. I'm just trying to hang on to my good habits each day.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

It was really good (I used Mezzetta Castelvetrano Green Olives instead of Kalamata) but it did need that 10 minutes in a hot oven to crisp it up. Kind of not worth the extra time it took in the crock because you have to heat the oven anyway lol. The recipe was good though and I'll probably make it again but in the oven cj59, I don't think it's "willpower" but it's definitely mind-set. If you're head isn't in it, it's very hard to get your body to do anything. Hang in there - it will all fall into place

DotRen - Thanks for that reminder. I do forget how motivated I was to stay on track for over 2 years. It's just this last year that has been a struggle, but I know I'll get my mind-set back again. I made some homemade chicken noodle soup yesterday, so I've been enjoying that on this cold and cloudy day. Hope everyone is doing well today

Good morning! Son has jury duty this morning, so I'll start my meal prep while he's out. He really needs a job lol. He's so bored! He's looking, but he's picky- I told him just get something to keep him busy while he's looking for that "perfect" job.
I'm going to bake salmon with olive oil, parsley, garlic and lemon along with some simple sauteed yellow squash (I'll make rice for his); then I'll cook some turkey burger patties and top those with some laughing cow cheese and serve it over sauteed spinach. DH hates fish unless it's fried, so I do salmon and other fish for son and myself. It's funny, I know a lot of parents with picky eaters, but mine was always willing to try new foods. My nephew ate nothing but white bread and kraft singles for 2 years - and my bother and s-i-l let him!
I was discussing Christmas dinner with DH last night and I think I'm going to do a lasagna, big salad, garlic bread and a peach cobbler. It's not turkey or ham lol - but I'm kind of in the mood for it. Since it's just the 3 of us this year, no need to make enough for an army! (or weeks of leftovers and taking up freezer space).

Good morning and sorry for being MIA
DotRen, love your Christmas dinner idea. Sounds so yummy. I hate when I get jury duty. I have had it several times, when I know people that have never had it! Ugh...
cj59, hang in there. DotRen has some good advice.
Waving to all
My eating has been off. Scale reflects it too. I am having lunch with a friend today. Hope she will eat at Outback. I plan on getting a good salad there. Dinner tomorrow with another friend. I always get a grilled chicken sandwich and steamed broccoli. Fingers crossed I stick to it.

Son was not picked, but he was there all day (well, sent home at 9am and had to go back at 1). I'm glad he wasn't picked, it was an adult/child sexual assault case, and I sat on a jury for one of those a long time ago -those are very disturbing cases, especially when it's family members Have a great day!

Hello Everyone DotRen - Your Christmas dinner menu sounds good and it's nice to have something different. Hope your son can find a job that he likes soon. I get called for jury duty a lot, and it's a pain. I actually ended up on a jury and the trial (medical malpractice) lasted 7 days. Of course it was during the busiest time of the year for my job. At the end of the trial, when the judge was ready to turn the case over to the jury, he told us that 3 members were alternates and they would now be released and didn't get to deliberate. Yep, you guessed it - I was an alternate! After sitting there 7 days, I didn't even get to give my thoughts on the case. sunrose - Hope you enjoy your lunch today and that you can stick to your food choices. There's no point in talking about all the junk food I've been eating At least I'm still exercising.

Good Morning Everyone! DotRen, Hello! All your recipes sound divine. Glad your son wasn't picked for such a disturbing case. sunrose49, Thank you! I do need to check in more often. Even if it's just to lurk and know that I'm not alone! You have solid plans for eating out. Good luck! cj59, I guess we all need a kick time sometimes. It's awesome that you're exercising! You probably have so many good habits from those two years you just need to build them back up! I had a heavy eating day yesterday, but I tracked it and it wasn't too bad. This morning I couldn't sleep so I was messing around on the internet and signed up for a 7-day free trial of Obe (a workout video website). I tried HIIT and couldn't do half of it because of my knees. lol But after I did that one (which was live) I poked around and found a library of low impact videos, so looks like I have to try it again tomorrow! The holidays are getting a little hectic right now, so I am glad I planned all my meals today, because it gets out of hand quickly. Good luck to everyone!

Good morning
DotRen, glad your son did not get picked. That would be a hard one.
cj59, good for you still exercising. That's a plus.
irisinnia, I did stick to my meal plan yesterday. It was a good lunch. WTG finding an exercise you can do.
I joined a local hiking group for women. I'm looking forward to hiking again. They go slow so that is good for me until I get some of this weight off.

Hello Everyone irisinnia - Hope you can find some exercises that you like. I used to walk indoors to some of the Leslie Sansome videos. She has several that aren't too high intensity. sunrose - A hiking group for women sounds like fun, I'm glad you've joined that. DotRen - Hope you are doing well today. Just checking in. I figure December is probably going to be an off track time for me unless something motivates me, but I know I'm going to have to throw the junk food out of the house and not bring it in anymore. Hopefully the new year will be a new start for me.

Good morning
cj59, I need to not bring the junk food in too! There is candy/cookies here. I'm over the candy. Cookies are in the freezer in the basement.
Waving to all. Headed out for a 4 mile walk.

sunrose49 , A hiking group? How fun! And you're going for a 4 mile walk? You're doing great! cj59 , The holidays are tough. I say just do the easy stuff. Whenever I get off track I always start with the water and fruit/veg with every meal. It is fun to start on the new year though! Good luck with the junk! I have a very busy day today ( deep cleaning, my youtube channel, other Christmas prep) so I really need to get on pre-tracking the food to make sure I stay on plan. Last night I had a visitor last minute during the time I would've prepared dinner so... the plan fell apart. Such is life. Back at it this morning! Good luck to everyone on your WLJ! How does the saying go? It's a holi-day, not a holi-week. Or in this case a holi-month right?

Hello Everyone irisinnia - Hope your day went well. I'm not good with last minute changes of plan either. Thanks for the advice. I'm not beating myself up over this overeating I've done the last few months. I just needed a break, my eating was getting very disordered, I was doing some whacky stuff and that needed to stop. Hopefully I can reset myself soon. sunrose - Hope you enjoyed your walk. DotRen - Hope things are going well for you today. I ended up being out of the house most of the day so I'm struggling to get my steps in. I set a daily goal for this month and I'm determined to stick to it, so I guess I'll be doing some walking in the house tonight
