sunrose49 , I have and it works great. It's an Oster (I tend to buy that brand exclusively because they're well made) this one can fit 2 shelves and a 9x13 pan will fit (barely -as long as it doesn't have handles). I was a little concerned because it didn't look like the top heating element was turning red, but it doesn't get that bright glowy red that the last one did. It also has a larger upper heating element, not 2 little bars like the old one. This one has that bendy one like a real oven does. Ok here's the site page for it oster countertop ovenI haven't had it long enough to recommend it, but oster has been good to me lol. Also I keep mine on top of my microwave (big microwave too)so it doesn't take additional counter space. I don't usually run them both at the same time just because I worry about the heat but this oser doesn't seem to put off heat on the bottom and it's very well vented on the sides.

Hello Everyone sunrose - those are some good "whys". I'm glad you received some nice gifts from your son DotRen - that's a nice looking oven, I'm glad it's working good for you. I've thought about getting one like this, but I do a lot of "cooking" in the microwave or on the stovetop, rather than the oven, so I don't think I'd get enough use out of it. I can't believe it's almost January, it seems like we just started the December thread! I'm sure hoping for a better month than the last few have been for me. Hope everyone has a great day!

DotRen, I like Oster products too.
cj59, I know hard to believe that January is right around the corner. I hope 2019 is good to all of us.
Got in a nice walk yesterday on the towpath. It is raining here so I guess I will pick up around here.

Good morning! It's kind of dreary here, chilly but not cold, overcast and sprinkling on and off. We'll be taking down the Christmas decorations some time this weekend. Just got back from the grocery and I got a 15 pound brisket that I cut and trimmed and vacuum sealed for later. I'm not buying turkey for a while, all the recalls have me concerned. I got some ground chicken and lean ground beef instead.

Hello Everyone - Hope you're enjoying the weekend
sunrose - Hope you were able to get outside in the good weather.
DotRen - I share your concerns about all the recalls, hopefully the food you have is safe.
I've been working on getting a plan together for January. I bought a bunch of Stouffers frozen dinners - regular and Lean Cuisine - that were on sale. I also bought some Ball Park Smoked Turkey Franks, only 45 calories each. And I like the Perdue Grilled Chicken Cuts.
I know that these prepared foods sometimes have high sodium is high, but I think it will be good for me to have very little food planning and preparation for at least a month or so to get me back on track. I can have one of these with some vegetables and it makes a nice dinner.
For lunches, I really like to have a sandwich so I have those Starkist tuna pouches that I mix with Laughing Cow cheese and pickles or peppers and eat them on a Light Multigrain English Muffin. I also have turkey lunch meat for sandwiches too. I pretty much eat cereal or oatmeal for breakfast. So I just need to add in fruits and dairy and my day is done. I'm hoping this plan will work for me. I need to cut way back on sugar and snacks. This is the plan, we'll see how it goes
Hope anyone else checking is doing well.

CJ starkist has some good flavors! The thai and mango something ones are interesting. They have chicken pouches now, too. I keep 1-2 of the WW smart ones chicken enchilada suiza on hand in the freezer. I thaw them the night before in the fridge and cut up the enchilada and add everything to some simmering chicken broth for an enchilada soup (add black beans, corn and whatever, too if you like)and it makes a much more filling meal than the meal itself alone

Hello Everyone Hope you're all having a good day and enjoying the weekend. I've been getting in my fruit, vegetable and dairy servings as well as water and steps, so hopefully transitioning back to mostly all healthy food won't be too difficult At least I have enough food in the house for almost all my January meals - may need some more fruits and dairy. But at least I can stay away from the grocery store for the most part and not be tempted by all the junk food
