I rarely use the scanner because it's wrong too often. The one thing, for combo foods, the scanner backs out the 0 point foods and if the NI matches or is close I'll go with it. I use the calculator for pointed foods, 0p foods are, well, 0 so good there..I use the recipe builer a lot. I use quick add daily.(because I'm a boring eater lol).
Main thing is I'm super comfortable with the ww app, like all moved in comfortable. I also work hard to keep it free and feel I earned it so paying for a different app even though it's cheap irks me. I did DL it awhile back didn't care for what I saw but truthfully didn't give it a chance either.

My fear is that without the WW database, iTrackBites will be fairly useless for scanning barcodes. Not even really sure what it is. This make absolutely no sense to me. ITrackBites doesn't use the WW database, why on earth would WW permit that? It uses the points formulas to create the database. All of the old points formulas are available. Anyone with a calculator and patience could do it themselves without any apps. Nor is the database necessary to follow these plans. The points calculators can be used - also available online. Absolutely no need for the app for those who are smart phone phobic. WW has always pretended that there is some magical power to the different points calculations that mere mortals cannot handle. I almost fell off my chair in a meeting years ago when the leader told me that there was no possible way I could estimate PP with +/-1 accuracy with only calorie information available to me.

Totally what itsrad said. Plus WW’s scanner, like many or most of the other apps that have scanners, has built their database by allowing users to input data for missing foods. In the case of WW, these entries are not verified by WW staff and made part of the regular database. That’s why you can scan a food and be show a dozen or more entries based on the barcode. And then you have to click each one and compare the NI that the other user(s) entered because many people choose to “modify” the NI mostly by omitting NI that may be important to you or me but which they don’t care about. I know of one app/website that, as part of paid support, allows users to set search results so that crowd-sourced information that hasn’t been verified to be accurate by the company’s staff just doesn’t show up in your search results.

instead of stressing about the future possible changes, cross that bridge when you come to it. As Luanne always said "don't borrow trouble".

2 more pounds this week, meaning I'm at 199 for the first time since, I don't know, when I was in the Army, maybe? Going to splurge tomorrow in celebration and actually use some weekly points!

Decided against a splurge and was rewarded with losing two more pounds this week. I think I might make it into "normal" range and out of "overweight". About 20 more pounds...

Way to go quark12000. You made the right decision not to splurge with food. You will make it into a normal range sooner than you think. When you want to reward yourself and you should but you might buy yourself something you wouldn't normally buy.A non food item then when you have an event to go to you can always splurge then. You have done wonderful.
