I just watched "Emergence" (ABC) Pretty intriguing show and I'll watch the next episode for sure. What did anyone else think who saw it? It was excellent, will definitely be in the weekly line-up! Bluff City Law was great too, still playing catch up on the others. Oh and the NCIS season premiere was so good, I am so glad Zeva popped back in. |

DebDoesWW, I have a few more taped to see, one is Bluff City Law. Unicorn was pretty cute last night. I also watched Stumptown(ABC) which was pretty good. We'll see how many of the new shows make it for another month.

linda72 , I'm sad to say that I thought Emergence was the best show I watched all week. Sad because that means I wasn't too happy with NCIS or Survivor. Emergence has my attention for sure. Has NCIS ... "jumped the shark"? Come on! Ziva? Acting dead for all this time. Not seeing her daughter? Being mad at Gibbs for not coming to find her? I just ... it was really on the unbelievable side. And I used to love Ziva. This episode made me very annoyed with her.
That said, the interaction between all the other characters was fun. They were funny.
Survivor... Not sure how I feel about the Rob and Sandra twist. Are we going to watch Rob challenge everybody who comes to Idol Island to build a fire? Are they going to teach everyone something different.
What happens when they get to a tie and find out that the person who lost the challenge to Rob/Sandra doesn't have a vote?
I'm still confused by the premise. Hopefully it sorts itself out next episode.
Also, I missed the jumping off the boat and scrambling. LOL
Best part - the blindside! Loved it! The Unicorn was cute. I think I will be able to skip it most weeks.
Shoot, and I missed Stumptown. Maybe I can catch it online.

hallian, I forgot to mention that, while I like NCIS, the writers are searching for ideas. Bringing Ziva back now, when she was supposedly dead, isn't a good idea. Maybe it's time for this series to end. One of the things I like about Grey's Anatomy is that they bring on new characters and new story lines. I've watched that series for years and it still seems fresh. NCIS doesn't feel fresh anymore.

linda72, hallian I have watched NCIS from the beginning and watch the marathons but I think they are really reaching bringing Ziva back especially since it's only for 4 episodes. hallian I agree with you not liking what Ziva told Gibbs about not coming to find her. I did like All Rise and will watch it again.I'm not sure if I will like the Bluff City one but I do like the one that plays the father. I am waiting for the new Blue Bloods tonight.I didn't like how they didn't show the wedding last season but like Tom Selleck said with all the royal weddings what could they do to follow them? I liked the premier of NCIS New Orleans and am really looking forward to the premier of NCIS Los Angeles to see the Jag reunion between Harm and Mac.I loved the old JAG series and I have been watching old episodes of it on WGN.They were so good together.

Not sure about Bluff City....felt it was too contrived
Two of my favorites return "The Good Doctor" and also "New Amsterdam" guess I am really into the medical field! Usually with me it is the lawyers but not this go around.
Something for everyone right?
Oh I really enjoyed on Netflex "Criminal: UK" also Criminal:Spain and Italy....really good and different.

MarieL, Hi, Marie, nice to "see" you. I'm glad you enjoyed Criminal. I thought it was very original. I'm also waiting for New Amsterdam and the Good Doctor. borntexan, I remember watching Tom walk the bride down the aisle in the last episode of Blue Bloods. The wedding ceremony wasn't the focus of that show but it did think the bride was so pretty. Tom, of course, always looks great!

Sorry guys I totally spaced it and probably should have put that in a spoiler but I think you’d have to live in a cave to not know she was coming back for some guest appearances. I do think that whole spiel she gave to Gibbs was just plain odd. It kind of wussified her. I was actually thinking “wha’ that isn’t something she would say.” It was just nice seeing her again. hallian, I have to agree with you about Emergence being the best of the new shows (so far at least.) This is going to sound horrible but one of the reasons it was my favorite was because the lead character was so freaking down to earth. Like, grab a cup of coffee with and not worry about makeup. I loved that! It reminded me of Cagney and Lacey (for those of you old enough to remember.) I really enjoyed the premise of the show too obviously but that was definitely a bonus. |

linda72, Thank you for the reminder about Dalton's recaps. I always read them and Jeff's Q&A, but hadn't done it yet. They are always entertaining and enlightening.
I was able to watch Stumptown online. Honestly, it was a good show. Maybe right on up there with Emergence - which I was also able to catch online because we missed the very beginning and that was sort of critical stuff.
Rookie starts Sunday. The premier episode looks pretty intriguing. After watching the trailer I was trying to see who was missing? Can't tell.
I love NCIS, I really do. And I always loved Ziva's character. She just seemed so "out of character." It was odd. Will keep watching because it's NCIS and those characters are fun and loveable. Even when they bring on a new character and I don't know if I will like them, I wind up liking them. Ziva, Ellie, Nick, Kasie, Jimmy, Leon - all replacements & love them all. Not totally enamored with Maria Bello's character, Jack. She's ok, I just don't see the necessity of her.

DebDoesWW, Emergence was really good. Especially when you watch from the very beginning. LOL I too like the main character. She's really likeable and genuine. Very good casting. I actually like all the main characters so far.
I was a Cagney and Lacey fan! Don't remember a lot of it, but I remember enjoying it at the time. |

hallian , thank you for reminding me I need to catch the beginning of it. WHY on Earth do they do that crap with ending shows at the :01 mark so your show gets clipped?!? So annoying! I agree with you about Stumptown, it really held my interest throughout.
