Monday already? Ruth, I think having DGD staying at your house is a great idea- houses are always better off being occupied with a responsible person than empty. Hope you were able to get some crocheting time in! Hard to believe that you might be moving soon, this all happened so quickly. But yes, I think its a good idea. Praying that you find a good house soon!! Off to start a busy day Ginny

good Monday morning, Ruth yes sometimes moves happen fast. I think what your song is doing is trying to protect both of you in case something should happen to one of you. medical issues or death.
for several years we had it so if anything happened to us Jim and Theresa would get the kids.
years later we redid our will and with the kids being older they will take over. our lawyer said "IT IS ALWAYS BETTER TO HAVE SOMEONE LOCAL FOR WHAT WILL NEED TO BE DONE.
our neighbor had a beautiful begonia plant inside. would set it outside int he summer and bring it in the house when needed . kept it in a bay window.
that plant was almost a bush. her ddil has it now.she keeps it by a patio door that plant is several years old..
trying to make up my mind clean or get stuff ready for sew day tomorrow. been weeks since I have been there.well the 3 of us anyway.
Nita's appointment is the tenth. sure hope this doctor can help her. hope he bawls her out for not getting her ### in there sooner. this is the same doctor who had sent me to the back clinic. he will also do Dick's knees surgery if he oks Dick's health is ok.(Nita's dh)
I called mcd in Abbortsford yes I did lose my test monitor there. to bad I did not notice it was gone before we left The BIG BDAY BASH. person I talked to yesterday did not know if she could send it . so waiting for her manger to call. hope she calls soon.
we may have to go get it. 2.18 minute drive and 121 miles to go. for us that is a drop in the bucket.
there is quilt shop up there.do I need anything. heck no. just like to check it
enjoy your monday. phyl

Hello everyone. I hope you all have a great week Phyl when it comes to making decisions on cleaning vs doing anything else I usually choose the something else Well now they've updated the prediction on snow from 3-5 inches to 4-7 inches for Wed. Bah!! Going out tomorrow to get needed supplies. I worked on the scarf that I ripped on today and just have half a row left to do then I'll start another. I was able to leave the first two rows so didn't have to do a chain of 282 and try to get all the stitches in that should be there so it wasn't hard. Still have at least 3 more to do. Dh was looking at yet another house. He says I can have the outbuilding for all my yarn...if it doesn't leak or anything. Guess I'll keep him.

Hello Crafters - Hope you are all doing well today Ginny - Hope you make it through your busy day. Phyl - I hope they will mail your kit back to you, or if you have to make the drive that you enjoy it and get to go in the quilt shop. Ruth - Hope things work out for any house you decide to put an offer on. I'm glad you have a relative that can live in your current house. An outbuilding for yarn - it will be your own "she shed" Sue - Hope you are getting some crafting in. For you "westerners", I was looking at some webcams in Wyoming today - it is really a beautiful state. Just to be curious I checked for houses for sale in Jackson, WY, and I could not believe the prices of real estate there. Where on earth do the people live who work in the town? It's in the 80s here today and hopefully this is the last day this year. I'm hoping to wake up tomorrow motivated to do some work in the house so I can put away the ACs and fans and do some other things. I went in my sewing room this morning and realized that I need to clean off my cutting table area. It's filled up again and I never feel like doing anything when it gets like that. So I hope to be able to get that done this week. Then maybe I'll feel like making something. I had a dream the other night that I baked a Tart Tatin using pear halves. It was a vivid dream because I remember making the pastry and baking it. It turned out really well, the funny thing is I don't really care for pears Take care everyone!

Phyl, I hope they will mail that kit to you but if you have to go pick it up then enjoy yourself and I'm glad to hear that Nita has an appointment with another doctor.
CJ, the property near and in Jackson is the most expensive in the state and has always been even when the real estate in the rest of the state was cheap. However now here it's very expensive also just not as bad as Jackson. You used to be able to buy really great homes here for very little money. It's always been a huge problem for those that live there that actually work trying to pay for housing. Some travel a long distance to work in Jackson because it's financially impossible for them to live near. Those of us who live in the rest of the state want to wall Jackson off for many reason's. It just doesn't fit in with the rest of us in many ways. That area of the state really is the most beautiful though too. I don't like pears much either and a tart tatin with pears never appealed to me. Oh and that's just what I told dh....I need a "she shed". Heard about those on an insurance commercial.
Ginny, you're having yet another of your very busy days. Well we're pretty much stocked up on most things but for the first time in my memory we're out of bread and rolls. Usually there's always some in the freezer

Think the “she shed” commercial is hysterical. I absolutely LOVE the look on the husbands face chatting about her new “ she shier she shed”.

I think all craftsy women should have a she shed! I have one, although I never called it that. The TV ad is very funny.
One of the reasons my late husband and I bought this house was the 1000 square foot shop in the back yard. Fast forward a few years . . . hb added a room to the side of the shop for me. I used it a lot for several years, but it's now more of a storage/junk room, and I just can't keep up with it at all. It's wonderful in the summer as a garden room. Once there's snow, getting there is problematic. When the snow gets icy, it's dangerous.
We're supposed to have nine inches of snow tomorrow and a high of 27. After that, there is a good possibility of Indian summer. Yesterday was beautiful. One of the quilters came over to pick crabapple, and I had J and J helping with some that required a ladder to reach. I hope there's enough snow that the bears go into hibernation. I don't want them in my backyard climbing the crabapple trees!

Now that's a scary thought...having bears in your yard. I've never seen a bear here and didn't see the mountain lion that killed a neighbor's dog but it did look like she had been on our deck. We're not supposed to get quite that much snow tomorrow but close but we'll see what happens. It's a beautiful day today and supposed to get up to at least 70. Yesterday was great also. I'm looking forward to Indian summer and may have to take dh on a short trip somewhere...not sure where yet.
We're probably not going shopping today after all but I'm not sure yet as dh is still sleeping. He came to bed at about 7am. If we don't go I'll make some bread and/or rolls. We're not real big bread eaters but dh likes toast with pb sometimes and burgers on rolls and sometimes sandwiches. I love kneading dough. I never use the dough hook because I love how the dough feels when it changes to that nice elastic ball. Plus the kneading is good exercise for the arm muscles
I set aside my scarf and started another of the swirl hats using some of the large collection of team spirit yarn I have. I did call the senior center yesterday to see if they still host Caps for Kids meeting and if I can bring in the two large, tall kitchen bags that are stuffed full of hats I've made. They said that they do have a storage area for donations and the leaders of that group will pick them up there so soon I'll take them. They'll be needed since its getting cold.

Sue, I wonder what actually drives the bears (I assume you have black bears?) into hybernation, temperature - daylight hours or both? Nine inches of snow is a lot for early October. Sounds like a quick melt however..so that is good.
Ruth, glad you have a place to donate all those hats! How much snow are you supposed to get?
We have bear here....and usually see them just before they go in. We have had bears in our back and front yard. Oh what fun.
Don’t need a she shed....I would love a screened in porch and a room that I could set up for my sewing stuff. Neither is going to happen so I will be happy with what I have.

Now the local tv station just posted on FB that we will most probably get 10 inches of snow. Before they said 4-7. 10 inches will be on south part of town and that's us. Blah...I'm glad we did get out today although we didn't really need anything but the bread and rolls and we got bread so I'll make rolls sometime. Probably tomorrow to warm up the upstairs by having the oven on.
Ginny, bears in the front and back yard? Yikes!
Now I'm making lists of all the things we need to take with us. We're only going to be there for about 5 months at first ..for the first couple years about 5 months each year so have to have things in both places. I't's amazing the items you need just for a kitchen alone. I'm stopping and adding things that are popping into my head as I write this.

Hello Crafters Hope the weather isn't too bad for those getting it and that the wildlife leaves you alone It's finally cooler here and feels so nice. I'm hoping that will motivate me to be more crafty. I got the 2 AC units put away and the fans too. I'm so happy to have all those things out of the way. I've been lucky with my TV shows the last few days. All the shows have been coming on at different times, so I didn't need to worry about recording. Tonight I like to watch This is Us and New Amsterdam. I'm about at the point where I could take or leave This is Us, but since I've watched from the beginning I want to see how it ends. Take care everyone!

CJ I do not blame you for wanting to see how a series ends! You have invested time into it so far and want to see how it ends. Cannot say that I’ve ever watched that show however. I’m glad you were able to put the air conditioners away. Indeed it’s time to MoveOn and think of getting through fall and winter and I hope some crafting for you!
Yes Ruth, it takes a lot of a lot of effort to get a kitchen with everything that you need. I just realized that when I was helping my daughter get her kitchen set up. Of course you can buy some things that you need, and somethings you actually can do without. I think it’s a great idea that you give a new house to try for a short duration and then come home, see how it works out living in the new location, and how it is to live in two different places.
Hoping I can get some embroidery time in this evening. Ginny
