She now has her very own "Dear Leader" portal. Her page of the WW jut got a makeover. The soft launch is tomorrow, but it's already live: Connecting with Oprah I would not be at all surprised if she names herself the new CEO. Don't get me wrong, I love Oprah. I just think she's quietly taking over WW.

Interesting thoughts. She does have a very public profile. I think WW has benefited. I'll have to think more about it.

I'm glad that she is still interested, it's been a while since her last member audio

I'm really not sure about it. I feel that WW is moving away from it's original mission, but I really don't know if it's her or just a sign of the times. There is a lot more "beyond the scale" coming. Small fitness classes, "me time classes" which are going to be basically very light group talk therapy- all for an extra fee of course.
The products are getting ridicules. Glow box and coloring book anyone?

hpeterson1951 - love your new picture! I'm with you on not sure how I feel about all of this. Maybe it is because I'm a few decades outside of the target demographic? I realize Oprah is older than me, but most of the pictures on the website (remember tank top girl?) are all way younger.

Also agree with hpeterson1951...it's been obvious for a while that WW's is *Not Your Momma's WW's*...I do get it, obviously, they have to reach a new demographic to have a chance of staying in business, but to have just closed the door (it feels to me) on long time members has felt weird.

She always seems to need a new challenge and perhaps this is it for now.

I participated in one of the Find Your Me workshops during the summer. The topic of thatone was about focusing on one thing although the topic changes monthly. It was a little bit woo, but ultimately helpful. We did a relaxation technique where we tapped lightly along our heads, arms, etc. Then we did a worksheet where we listed words to describe how we felt about different areas of our lives. Then we made lists of things that must be done, should be done, we want done. That sort of thing. Before that workshop I had no idea how stressed I was. The list making really helped me narrow down my To Do list and delegate some things to others. Since then, I've freed up enough time to take a leisurely walk most days, something I enjoy and couldn't find the time to do. It's not for everyone, but I found the one I attended to be worthwhile. I paid $10, but I understand it's free in some places.

I also feel that they are ignoring the people who got them to where they are, I did WW in the 60's when you ate tuna and mustard. And I'm not very good with touchy feely exercises. I know why I overeat but the younger generation evidently doesn't

Tuna with mustard? I've been around a long time (I remember "slicing" WW ice cream for a dairy serving!) but this is a new one for me.
I do have some of those "cards" with weird recipes. "Crown Roast of Frankfurters" was one of the stars of that scary show!

How about a strawberry shake, milk, ice and strawberry. Also, liver once a week!

I STILL do the tuna and mustard! After all these years it is the only way I'll eat it
