I also feel that they are ignoring the people who got them to where they are The people who "got them where they are" would be 60+ years old. Unless you're AARP, that's not a sustainable business model. Although there could be some APs in it for you when you chase them off your lawn. Lou, while you make an excellent point, WW does seem to be floundering all over the place instead of having a coherent marketing strategy that would attract new, younger members while keeping the loyalty of the older members. We've joked for years about the middle schoolers in the garage doing the IT support. Now it seems they've recruited their friends to market for them. Please see the exhibit table for globoxes and Australian mood light bulbs.

Mustard in my tuna? All the time! And I make shakes out of almond or skim milk and frozen fruit and ice.
But that hot dog thing? 😝

Just joined this board, though I was on WW community board and prior proboard. Thanks for setting this up! I agree that WW has really forgotten about the members who "got them where they are"! I am a lifetime member, and reached goal for second time in September. For some reason I just can't get into the touchy feely stuff. When I go for meteings/monthly weigh in and see coloring books, globoxes, wine glasses, etc my heart sinks. It used to be about losing weight. There are fewer cookbooks. Now it is apps and trying to appeal to younger crowds. They have shoved lifetimers aside. There generally seems to be less emphasis on achieving lifetime or explanation of it..just how to "feel better".

Welcome suesand !! One of the great things about this board and this group is that WE support each other whether we are following the current WW program, a past program, another program or NO program! Everyone needs support whether at goal, struggling, or just beginning again. WW seems to have forgotten many of the great things we learned along the way. You'll find a lot of different spots to share around here!

I think it's AA that says "take what you need and leave the rest." That may be a good motto for WW members as well. Nothing is going to please everyone.
Also, Oprah is old so I don't think they've got her there to appeal to the young'uns.

Also, Oprah is old so I don't think they've got her there to appeal to the young'uns. My leader says that almost every week. Hmm I wonder is that's where she got it.

Mustard in my tuna? All the time! And I make shakes out of almond or skim milk and frozen fruit and ice. But that hot dog thing? 😝 In the day that hot dog crown roast was probably considered elegant. I have a recipe from the mid-70s for turning all-beef hot dogs into bologna. And back then, with the significant restrictions of the program, it was an acceptable alternative to never having the real thing. The problem was that a man’s portion at lunch was 6 oz. cooked and it was 8 oz. cooked at dinner. That’s a LOT of bologna no matter what kind it is!

This lends new meaning to the term "weenie roast".

1 pound frankfurters (see Note) 2 tablespoons cider vinegar 1 teaspoon poppy seeds 2 cups shredded cabbage 1/2 cup boiling water Pimento
Slice frankfurters lengthwise, but do not cut all the way through. (Do not separate halves.) Open. Broil, cut sides up, on rack about 3 inches from source of heat, about 5 minutes. Add vinegar and poppy seeds to cabbage; toss thoroughly. Heap cabbage in a mound in center of a baking dish. Lean cut sdie of frankfurters against cabbage to form a crown. Secure franfurters with toothpicks. Pour water over cabbage. Bake at 350° (moderate oven) 10 minutes, or until cabbage is tender but still crisp. Garnish with pimento. Divide evenly. Makes 4 dinner servings.
Note: Frankfurters are pre-cooked. Do not allow 2 ounces for shrinkage.

OMG. I just realized it is four servings. That is about 5-6 hot dogs. Good lord.

LOL, I was on the original program in 1971 and my mother would make the liver on Friday noon before she left for the *beauty parlor*....and I would flush it down the toilet. Toilets were made of sturdier stuff back then!
Haha, by the time the Crown of Frankfurters was on the menu, I was cooking for myself...and was just as lazy a cook then as now (must be when I started eating tuna with mustard....)
