I hate liver. That is probably why I got fat.

suesand - the cookbooks don't sell as well as they used to (WW used to put out 4 every year). The apps have recipes and there are eleventy bazillion websites as well. WW is trying to reach the new generation of that's more concerned with "health" than "weight". Y'all are right that they're floundering at the attempt. Although I was a little upset to learn that I wouldn't be able to turn the spare room into a swingers paradise. And HankyPanky.com doesn't accept returns on those hanging baskets! I spend a few minutes in each meeting making fun of the current slate of products. And when I had a regular meeting, I won the award for top product sales. Go figure.

I hate liver. That is probably why I got fat. I really don't get the liver hate! (I would NEVER eat it growing up... my mother cooked it until it was like shoe leather!) But I cook it with bacon and apples and it's really tasty (the trick is THIN baby calves liver and don't over cook!!)

That looks scary! I need to be having a serious craving to eat hot dogs, usually happens once a year. And I don't eat liver. I used to bury it under the mashed potato, onion, and gravy to trick my parents.
All things considered, I'll take SP over old WW, I'd never make it!

And yes, the move away from weight loss to health seems to be a fitness industry trend. I see that on several blogs and the FB fitness groups I belong too. "Don't worry about calories. Just eat healthy and your weight will settle at a healthy point." "Don't worry about the scale, just eat right and exercise for health." Of course WW will never ditch points, but the rest sounds very beyond the scale.

Honestly, I think that WW does need to do more to appeal to a younger demographic. I read some of the articles about WW on Seeking Alpha and I remember there being financial criticism of WW when a comment was made about trying to bring back former members. Many felt that WW needs to spend more efforts to get new (younger) members rather than former (old) members. I think WW should try to do both. I think getting back former members and keeping current members is important. That said, WW doesn't survive if it doesn't find a way to appeal to younger people.
I am 62, but honestly at times I think WW is almost impossibly stodgy. And, when they try to be modern, they don't do it right (I'm thinking in part here of all their technological problems).
When I look around at the meeting there are a lot of, well, old people. And I go to a Saturday morning meeting so we have a fair amount of younger members. For awhile DH and I went to a morning meeting on a weekday and it was mostly older folks.
Some of the newer stuff they are doing does not appeal to me. I try to remember that I am not necessarily typical. That is, what I would like is not necessarily what a majority of people want.
I do think the focus of WW is on weight loss and should be. That said, I don't see much point in spending the meeting talking too much about the details of the program or how many SPs are in X. That is a good time to talk about the psychological aspects of weight loss and about healthy living. Those things apply to everyone.
I rarely learn anything new in a meeting. But, when they talk about healthy eating it sometimes amazes me what some people don't know. People need a lot more education than I think many of us realize.

I haven't been on the WW site much since the message boards were gone. I am LT and get free access and also a inactive employee and it shows I have free access until 2020. I use My Fitness Pal to track, lots of NI that I need and want. I limit my sodium, carbs, fat and sugar. I had a heart attack over 10 years ago and not sure if WW will ever keep track of what I need. As for Oprah, she had gotten too preachy for me a long time ago. And her up and down weight losses are not exactly the epitome of healthy weight loss. Looked at WW.com today and saw nothing about Oprah. I got stuck on the stuff they are selling now, aprons?
As for older people at meetings, I'm old and most of the meeting attendees are older. I think the Fitbit, and other web sites are geared to the younger crowd. I do have a Fitbit and love it.

No mustard, no hot dogs, no liver for me. Cook it WITHOUT any fat or oil. NO bacon. NO onions. NO cooked fruit or veggie of any kind. Because those were the rules back in the 60s and 70s.
I ate it every week because it was a requirement. And I was fortunate enough to find a hotel restaurant that could broil it w/o fats. I ate it with lots of A-1 sauce which WAS a legal condiment.
After eating liver 52 weeks a year for 4 or 5 years, I ate more than a lifetime supply and have never had an urge to eat it no matter how it is prepared!

Zazzles it was the liver's texture that turned me off. Perhaps that might have been changed by a different preparation but I've never been a creative cook.

zazzles AACCHHH!! 52 weeks of liver would have done me in... 4 or 5 years worth?? Yikes! I would have to just stay fat!! I eat liver maybe twice a year now and do enjoy it but not without bacon and apples and definitely not more often!!!

WW's technology/customer service is what kills me. When I rejoined this time (I had to leave due to being pregnant) I rejoined online as they had some online-only promotion. I made the mistake in the past of going into a center thinking I could get the promotion (the "bring a friend" one) and they told me she had to register ONLINE before coming into the meeting in order for me to get credit. The people in my center tried to fix it, but they couldn't and I never got my free month. Anyway... so this time I did my registration online to get some $20 credit (this was back in August). So I go in to the center for my first meeting and they had no idea what to do with me since i registered online! I was literally on the phone with WW while being IN A CLOSET (since it gets loud in our center) for 45 minutes (!!!) while they tried to register me so I could do meetings. I had registered correctly... they just didn't know what to do with it!!! I work in IT and test software for a living. I find bugs daily. They should hire me...

How about a strawberry shake, milk, ice and strawberry. Also, liver once a week! I actually love those, and change it up with a banana too!

I first joined in 1971. I didn't eat liver once a week - maybe never - and I didn't eat 5 fish meals a week. And I still lost weight. I figured out right away how to tweak the program. And I've done it ever since.
