Affirmation: I get plenty of rest. Mind: Systematic Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP, Rest Spirit: Hopeful Gratitude: My good health
I had a pleasant day throwing Buttercup's ball endlessly as I raked. I think the leaf and pine needle situation is just about under control. I am glad about that!
Cathy: I thought your weather site was so interesting. It gave such good insight into your climate. Do you celebrate Christmas? I am extremely low key about it and exchange cards now days with DD. I do have some things I decorate with but they fit nicely in a not too large plastic tote. It seems that the more simple I got year after year the more I began to enjoy it. I think I will check out YouTube for some nice Christmas instrumental music. I do love the music we sang when I was a child.

Affirmation: Believe -> See
Mind: Focused
Body: Ready
Spirit: Clear
Gratitude: Hot coffee in the morning and windows open at night to allow in cool breezes and night sounds.
Quiet day at home. Read a book in the evening that had to do with online counseling and what to look for, how to decide whether to use it, legal stuff...short but direct with good information. The persont hat asked me to read it writes for the newspaper, writes novels and also finished her counseling degree and now works online. She is Dutch/English and lives in Malaysia. I found a few typos and also a paragraph that I did not understand. I will write the review for the booklet today and post it.
MICHELLE: I used to celebrate holidays when the children were here and also when the ladies used to get together for Christmas (the card playing Wednesday international women). We would decorate and get ready for the feast the day before then do the potluck with turkey and all the trimmings and exchange gifts. My husband has never been into birthdays, anniversaries or holidays so do not see doing much if anything this year. I have a few easy to put out things and a small tree I might put up in the dining room but the BIG tree and boxes of ornaments will probably stay in the basement. I used to try to send a package of something or even a card to my granddaughters but during the pandemic and with economy and other things...haven't for awhile. I love the visual of you taking a break from EMP chores and tossing the ball for you canine companions Lebanon DOES go all out most years decorating for Christmas...it is fun to drive and see the lights.

Affirmation: Willingness is the key that will unlock any door. Mind: Rejuvenated Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP, Rest Spirit: Cheery Gratitude: A lovely winter day with fresh air I started organizing in my office today and ran into a project for work that we had to abandon last year so that got worked on for a number of hours and is now ready for the next step. I sure was glad to get rid of that terrifying pile of papers that was huge until I whittled it down. Also did my Home Blessing and had a fun day playing with the dogs. Cathy: I have a tree made of tiny pine cones my mother made me about 40 years ago that is about two feet tall. The lights are still functioning. With each passing year it means more to me. It fits conveniently on my kitchen counter and has a cute skirt and momentoes of Christmas's gone by to set around it. I am looking forward to putting these simple things around the house but will wait until December to do so.

Affirmation: Believe -> See
Mind: Focused
Body: Willing
Spirit: Strong
Gratitude: Weekend chats with family. Sunshine in the morning. Fan to blow mosquitoes away from me at night - and electricity to run the fan.
Talked to our granddaughters and son. Granddaughters were playing video games and not very attentive. Son is wanting a vaccination so he can start traveling/selling again. His company sells in many countries and his being able to go in person is essential to maintaining the link and keep sales up. They were off to a swim meet in the afternoon. My daughter purged her closet and I kind of wish I had been there to snatch a few things BUT ah well...staying home doesn't require cocktail dresses or professional suits...haven't dressed like that in decades! Today my husband is 82. We usually go out for a meal but not this year. Trying to come up with something 'special' and not leaving the house to do so will be tricky.
MICHELLE: Hooray for dogs to play with! It must feel so good to have cleared the pile of office papers and dealt with some indoor projects!

Affirmation: I am focused on the present moment. Mind: My thoughts are quiet Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Optimistic Gratitude: This life. Got lost in the Paper Tiger Maize at home again today. But progress is being made. Also had to go to town for a Dr appointment so that was pretty much what I got done today. When I got home I took the dogs for a walk around the property and they were just so happy and carefree. Buttercup kept running back trying to get me to hurry up--as though I could dog trot at 9 miles per hour. LOL Cathy: I like your affirmation. Today I needed to mail a couple of letters and magically a mailman showed up in the parking lot of the DR's office. I just love it when Universe delivers in these small ways.

Affirmation: Believe -> See (this was my focus in 1998/9 when I reached goal although then it was more of a phrase...this is pithier)
Mind: Positive
Body: Capable
Spirit: Open
Gratitude: The ability to find alternatives.
Yesterday the battery in the car was dead. Hubby had a relative come to jump start the car, drove it for awhile, tried it this morning, and it is dead again. He will have to get it fixed BUT with the lock-down we can only drive Monday, Wednesday and Friday SO won't be working on that till tomorrow. He came in asking me, "Guess what present I was given?" and then told me about the battery. At least he brought home spinach, tomatoes and bananas so we have a bit of fresh produce till we have the car running again.
MICHELLE: I love the way the universe provides and how you and I accept that is what happens when it does so I have visions of you walking the perimeter with cavorting canines keeping you company...love it! Paper tigers should be able to be defeated without having them return but that so rarely happens!

Affirmation: Slow and steady wins the race! Mind: Determined Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Free Gratitude: Time spent talking to a friend in person.
Today I took Clair to physical therapy and to the dog food store. Her only two places she can socialize with humans now. She had a wonderful time. Also this is fun for me since I know and like so many of the people.
Cathy: Sorry about the battery problem. I just went through that with the green quad and had to have the quad repairman show up to work on it. It seems to have been the solution. I had a truly pleasant time chatting with a friend at the vet hospital; looking at her pictures on her phone. I miss normalcy.

Affirmation: Believe -> See
Mind: Focused
Body: Moving
Spirit: Bright
Gratitude: Husband - who tackles problems and finds solutions.
When the battery wouldn't start yesterday my husband tried the nephew who helped him last time but he was out of the village so he went through options and I then mentioned a few of his cousins and he called one who is coming by today to take him or go with him or jump start the car and take him to his battery replacement dude. If that is dealt with then we will probably run a few errands if it is still early enough OR may wait till Friday since that is the next day that car is allowed out on the road.
MICHELLE: It is too bad that you can't take Clair out to socialize with people since that feeds her soul. I was thinking maybe you could wear different clothes and scents to PRETEND to be someone else for her to interact with but am sure she would know it was you

Hi, there, Cathy and Michelle! Just wanted to wish you both a Happy Thanksgiving and holiday season...a little early, as I know I probably would forget to do this tomorrow, LOL. I am grateful for folks like you who share their insights and appreciation for life and also support others on the journey. I do stop by the thread now and then and love seeing what you're up to.
Be happy, safe, and loved! Carol

Affirmation: Calmly and serenely I face the day. Mind: Relaxed Body: Walking, Yoga, OP Spirit: Happy Gratitude: A slow paced day today Carol, So glad to see you!I also check out the FLYing board each week to see what is going on and try to get focused on the missions. It helps me to keep me from spending my time on the ground flapping around. Happy Thanksgiving! Cathy: I think it is interesting that the cars are allowed on the road certain days of week. It seems like such an easy way to control the number of people out and about. Clair needs so much attention now that she is an out of work therapy dog. I make sure that I remember to do this so she is still very happy. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving here. Do you celebrate it? I skip participating in our national eating holidays (as I call them). But I do have a cute Thanksgiving display that I made this year. I like that we share our gratitudes each day here so every day ends up being similar to Thanksgiving.

Affirmation: I relax and get plenty of rest. Mind: Quiet Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Protected Gratitude: A pleasant holiday
I enjoyed the simplicity of the day. Talked to DD and enjoyed the email sent from my DB. DH and I worked on a fun puzzle about games. Monopoly, cards, Chinese checkers, marbles. It brought back such pleasant memories from my childhood.
Cathy: I hope your internet is back up. My day was spent quietly with my husband and the pets. Tomorrow I plan to take it easy again. I am reading a Regency romance that has all the basics in it but am enjoying it since I haven't read one in quite awhile.

Affirmation: I am positive Mind: Able Body: Here Spirit: Open Gratitude: Internet back
I believe autumn has finally arrived and soon winter will be here. I hear frogs outside...strange that they are noisy this time of year. Yesterday was quiet and a stay at home day without any fanfare and we were without internet.
MICHELLE: It is fun to revisit old friends in books...not sure if your Regency romance is an old friend or might be a new story but...glad you are enjoying it. What do your dogs do while you read?

Affirmation: I am excited! Mind: Rested Body: Functional Fitness, Yoga, OP Spirit: Peaceful Gratitude: A warm home
I did get more rest today. Also managed to get the frame of the dog door painted, sewed a button on one of my sweaters, more things like that--just kind of puttering around. I did get the shelf liner in one more cupboard.
The other day I read a page long article about having "a practice". Possibly a yoga practice, a spiritual practice, or just about anything that I wanted to consider a practice would be one. This resonated with me since I do think that listing the daily items here would be a practice or part of one. The jest of the article was to just remind myself throughout the day every so often that I do have a practice. I am working on this. It seems to be an effective centering device. We'll see how it goes.
Cathy: The dogs do like to rest. Buttercup would never stop playing ball if she had her way so sometimes I have to make her take a nap, just like a small child. We all have an afternoon siesta or just a time when I sit in my chair for an hour or so. I usually read then.

Affirmation: I am focused Mind: Open Body: Relaxed Spirit: Receptive Gratitude: Feeling rested
The sun is shining and life is good. We have plenty to eat, a roof over our head and good health. We may not be able to see our children often but do feel close to them in other ways. I watched the video of a concert my children and I were in one Christmas long ago. I was so much younger and playing bass clarinet while my children, still in middle school, were playing trumpet and clarinet - in the Beirut Symphonic Band. I had forgotten how much fun that used to be and it almost made me go look for the instrument and consider playing it again. That would need some "practice" but might be a nice change? Hmm...also have a violin and piano I could dig out? I wonder if the reeds or violin strings are still okay?
MICHELLE: I love the idea of you sitting in a comfy chair with dogs sprawled around you resting. I also had a vision of you on a blanket taking a nap with the dogs cuddled up nearby. I don't know that I have a "practice" or routine but sort of do?
