nashville11 , they're a vegetarian protest group that wants to abolish all dairy farming. Kind of like PETA for cows. I don't know anything about dairy farming, but kooks running on stage holding up signs and yelling doesn't strike me as a very good omen for the cows. Just saying . . .

Was anyone else surprised that Sanders won Utah? I know Biden didn't have funds to campaign there, but I would have guessed that Utah would be more Conservative than that. I guess that's just pre-conceived ideas about the fact that so many Mormons live there. I'm sure not all Mormons are conservative, and I'm also sure there must be a lot of people living in Utah who are not Mormon. That's what happens when we rely on pre-conceived and likely outdated notions. DH just told me that Bloomberg has dropped out. Hope he will put all that money and structure to good use getting Democrats elected across the board now. My guess would be that he would be more likely to back Biden than Sanders, but then I may not be any better at guessing that than I was about Utah.

I'm happy Bloomberg isn't going to just stay in for stubbornness.
Nash a couple of them ran on stage topless at a Sanders rally a while back lol.

I would be willing to bet that Stacy Abrams will be Biden's running mate. She has made it clear in many interviews she would accept if asked by any of the candidates who would get the Democratic Nomination. I still think Trump is going to dump Pence...I'm thinking as many do, it will be Nikki Haley. She might as well since she sold her soul to the Trump already. Shame! I did think at one time she would be a more reasonable Republican candidate to bring that party back from the Trump insanity. Guess not, tho.

@lka48, Linda, you're right that Nikki Haley surely turned out to be a huge disappointment. I had hopes for her too. There's not a single Republican I have any hopes for now.

Every person who protests isn't a kook. The idea is to make people aware of a cause, possibly be interested in changing the conditions for the better.
Women burning their bras comes to mind, HIV infected men carrying mock coffins or playing dead in the streets of NYC, Gay men and Lesbians chanting outside St. Patricks for their church to "see" them, all the war protests, etc. Not all kooks. Concerned, passionate, a little angry and sad at how cruel a Christian nation can be and refuse to acknowledge it.
Writing polite letters doesn't make the news, move mountains, or change anything. MLK Jr. knew that.
I held hands with Bob Barker (Not a kook) to make a human chain at a protest in NYC many years ago.
Just saying.

Most are very legitimate and have very legitimate complaints. They make their points so that the point can be understood. My comment about the two protesters that ran on stage behind Biden was that while they may have very legitimate complaints IMO they did nothing to help their cause. Their message could not be understood. They simply were disruptive. If they wanted to make their point, IMO, they should have found a better way. As it was, I watched the whole thing unfold and had absolutely no idea who they were or what they wanted. I'm betting there were a lot of other people watching like me. I don't doubt that dairy cows may very well be kept in horrible circumstances, but I saw nothing to make me aware of that. Men afflicted with HIV carrying coffins in the street, chanting outside St Patricks, war protesters, etc. very clearly get their points across to everyone. They are making a difference. Running onstage shouting something unintelligible holding up a sign that has no meaning for most people is not in anyway the same in my point of view at least. By the way, I marched and protested going into Iraq. So I am not opposed to protests. I just think if you're going to protest you need to do it in a way to make your point understood.

Bernie attacked Biden in a commercial. Had Biden saying probably long saying hell cut social security Medicare and Medicare. Bernie should save it for Trump. I think it will backfire. I know Biden will never propose what True[ is doing in his budget. I am mad at Bernie attacking Biden. Biden and Bloomberg talked. Bloomberg endorsed Biden. He has offices every where I can hardly wait for next Tuesday. I worry about Michigan the biggest state next Tuesday. But Biden has an attraction to Unions. And there is a gender ga[ of 20 points. Women favor Biden and they vote more.

I agree with everything you said. I'm on your side, Joyce.
I've seen so much cruel behavior, people I would call kooks, throughout my life I've actually cancelled subscriptions and memberships for the cause. It's too much for me at this age.
I'm still outraged that here in my own country there wasn't too much of an outrage when babies were torn from their sobbing mothers arms and thrown in cages! Anybody know what happened to those children? Anybody care?
And the ghoul who ordered this child abuse, this kidnapping, is loved and adored by monsters who call themselves Evangecials?
In what Universe?

Joyce, I'm glad you and your loved ones are safe and sound. I have no words for how I felt seeing the images from that tornado.
What a horror!

In Bernie's speech last night he tried to paint Biden as cutting both Social Security and Medicare. I don't believe Biden would do try to do that, and besides he couldn't do anything like that without approval from Congress. Bernie knows that. Like you amyrs, I think that kind of attack will ultimately backfire, and would be far better aimed at Trump than Biden. Trump makes no secret of the fact that he wants to cut them. As far as the speeches for both Bernie and Joe last night, I know that as listeners we often "listen" for what we want to hear. But Biden's speech came across to me as strong, dynamic, fire-up, and yet at the same time with humility and knowledge that ultimately we've got to heal the huge divide in our country. Bernie's speech came across to me as angry and belligerent. After what we have been through the last 4 years that is just not what I am looking for. It probably resonated with a lot of people, but it just turns me off. Still, however, if Bernie should get the nomination I will be right there casting my vote in his favor. While I don't think he's the right candidate, I do think he is a million times better than what we have.

In what Universe? I have friends in Australia and New Zealand that ask about the children often. I tell them Trump had them swept under the rug- it made him look bad so he made sure there were other things in the news to get attention off them.
