Pam how awesome that Abby received the award You truly are blessed with good tasting water. Far too windy to walk. I'm happy to park it at home and I'm managing to keep myself busy. Carl is busy casing Italian sausage. And yes, he has all the gadgets to make it possible lol.

Pam ~ We are also blessed with great-tasting water. We don't have a well, so no pump, therefore no power is not an issue. I buy Distilled water at Meijer in gallon jugs but only for my humidifier and my NeilMed saline rinse and drops of essential oils for my diffuser. Otherwise I prefer to drink our tap water. I willbe putting the humidifer away soon, as I only run it in the bedroom when the furnace is on. Congrats on the recognitions in your family!
Ann ~ I agree about the wind. Our temp has come up a bit and the sun is out. We took the kiddos outdoors today and it was 37 but felt like 27 so we had gloves and hats on. I am home now and changed for WW.
Judy ~ Isn't it funny how we all have our preferred items to stockpile? I also buy tomatoes, tomato sauce and beans and broth by the case as well as tuna. We are in no danger of running out of anything anytime soon.
The birthday party was a great hit! She was very touched. Our third wprk partner was out today so the two of us had cake early this morning while we chatted. Other people stopped in our Head Start kitchen throughout the day and enjoyed a slice of cake. We left it out with the plates and forks (and a knife).
I had thought about stopping at Meijer today but I want to meet my VBF for WW and Starbucks, so I came on home.
I talked to our condo insurance agent and she assured me she sent the requested form this morning and then she emailed me a copy of it for my records as well as the confirmation that the fax was received. Hopefully that chapter of my life is over.
BBL. Make a great day!

Yeah to the insurance chapter being closed Sue. Happy the bday party was a success. Good luck at weight watchers.
I did go out for a very short walk. The sun decided to shine and I figured why not. The wind was just to biting to fully enjoy it. I'm happy to be home again.
Take care all.

Hi all,
I am posting late as I am really earning my keep at work today with lots to do. I like it that way as long as it is not overwhelming.
I wish our tap water tasted good. It does at the Cape, but here in our town, I believe they put too much chlorine in it. It tastes like straight up pool water to me! It is perfectly safe and clean, but I prefer to drink bottled water and so does DH. Sad, but true and most of my friends feel the same. Our town just invested millions in a new water treatment plant as well but I don't see it in the taste - maybe the quality is top notch but not the taste! I even used bottled water in all my coffee/tea/etc, but I do use the tap to boil potatoes and so forth.
I'm glad the birthday party went well, Sue. You are thoughtful. That cake is tempting sounding! I love cake.
Ann, I am picturing Carl with his sausage machine going to town on those casings. I will bet they are wonderful. Is he Italian, too? Or did you teach him? :-) Yes, I had to dodge more flying monkeys today, too.
Pam, thanks for the tip on the Swamp Pop sound. I will have to google those bands and musicians to get a taste of it. You live in such a different world than us and I love the sound of it. Many things are the same, and then so many are different!
I have TWO funny food related stories for you. I hope I am not repeating myself - I do that, you know! Anyhow, the first one is that I did a large order (about $200 worth which I guess is more average today...lol) on Instacart on my lunch hour on Monday. I use them infrequently when I don't want to bother to go to the grocery and I like the convenience for the very small fee attached. It is worth it sometimes. Anyhow, I told my DH who was home on Monday to watch for the delivery. Nothing ever arrived! They sent me a photo of the delivered goods, but it was under a breezeway I did not recognize somewhere. And, the person had dropped one bag smashing glass jars of sauce. Ugh. DH drove up and down our street but saw nothing. So, I called and I was rather irate to complain. They were very nice and re-shopped and re-delivered and credited our account for one order. Well, several hours later, a distant neighbor knocked on the door with all the groceries that he had received instead of us!! Good grief. My DH went to his house and cleaned up all the sauce with a bucket of water and brush and I called the company who does not want the food back. So, now we have 12 lbs of ground beef, 10 lbs of chicken, 4 dozen eggs, a multitude of beans, tomato sauce, loaves of bread, cheese, etc. I guess we certainly are all set for the COVID-19 scare. I offered food to the neighbor who declined. I guess we will feed them when the "time" comes. Story TWO is another duplicate order. Our daughter gave us a week of Hello Fresh as a gift. We ordered the food last week - the delivery date was today ,but I called and asked if they could move it up to yesterday. They said they would and, as requested, our meals arrived yesterday. Well, DH just called and said we got ANOTHER order from them delivered today- same stuff. Again, I called and they said it was their error - they forgot to cancel the original order! So, if you are feeling hungry, come to our house. We've got the goods! Oh, we also have FOUR gallons of ice cream, too, from the food mixup the other day. ha ha.I may donate the meals to co-workers tomorrow after I assess what we received today. We are blessed with an over abundance of food this week.
Sue, feel free to vent as much as you like. We have all fallen victim to those frustrating situations as you did with the mtg company. ugh!
TTFN...

LOL Judy no Carl is only Italian by injection He's Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch, English and I forget the other 'part' LOL. He just LOVES to cook. I often told him we have the perfect marriage...he cooks and I eat LOL. I also enjoy cooking and at times it's a race to see who gets into the kitchen first. Normally I'm 'safe' once he is outdoors grilling. He does grille all year round, but more enjoyable for sure in nicer weather. ROFL....Judy just add 'selling food' to your water sales and retie That surely put a smile on my face A busy day makes for a short day. But like you say when it gets hectic that can be annoying! Well I did venture into the great outdoors. The sun FINALLY came out so I figured that was my change to get out there. Well, the sunshine was followed by those flying monkeys and then the sun decided to vanish! We cut the walk short. Yes, I was happy that I did go out...but I can honestly say that it was NOT enjoyable. I'm happy now to be home. For some reason today has been a VERY hungry day for me. In looking over my journal I did have more than enough protein fruits veggies healthy fats and water...so no clue where that is coming from. I just had a small handful of dry roasted almonds along with a FF Greek yogurt. Hopefully that will 'hold me' till supper. I think I'll distract myself and read a bit. Later

Good morning all. Another good sleeping night. Today I plan on taking a few good hood walks, and also planning to go to my weight watcher meeting to get weighed in for the month. I just really wish it were earlier in the day and not at 4:30! Lots of 'damage' can be done by that time Take care all...enjoy your Thursday and I'll CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! Ann, I also slept well and woke a few minutes after 6, so I am back on schedule. In fact, I stayed up an extra hour late to watch a TV show with DH so didn't get to bed until 10. Whoo-Hoo!! I would love to get back on my 10-6 schedule, but we shall see??
I went to WW for WI yesterday and my hard work was rewarded with a 1.2 loss. Since I have my head back in the game, and VBF and I made a date to WI again in two weeks, I am expecting another good loss then. I simply MUST lose some lbs before the warmer weather gets here.
Judy ~ I loved, loved, loved both of your food stories. Good things come to good people! I am sure you feel really stocked up now, and that's a good thing. Please don't ever stop sharing your stories!
I am planning to stop at Meijer on the way home today. My VBF told me she and her DH went to Costco this week and they were completely OUT of toilet paper! Are people seriously hoarding toilet paper?? C'mon..... They were lucky enough to find it at Sam's Club.
I have a short list of things I need (not to stock up on just to use) and I don't expect to find a problem. Fortunately for me I have multiple bottles of hand sanitizer here at home, as well as plenty of hand soap. I buy it at Meijer on sale and at B&BW when it's on sale and I have a coupon. So I am in no danger of running out. At any rate, I wouldn't strip the shelves and leave nothing for anyone else, but that just me.
I do wonder if I'll find a shortage of the gallons of distilled water at Meijer? The other day the shelf was empty (which is not unusual) and I asked a stockman and he went in the back and brought out 4 gallons. I only took 3 and left one for the next person. Who knows? They may need it right now??
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi all and it feels like Friday but it's not! I am enjoying an early lunch since we are going out to dinner tonight on the early side with our AZ friends at the special Italian place. Too bad I can't cook for them - lol - Lord knows we have enough food!!! But, on a weeknight, I find it pretty hard to entertain. They are driving out to spend the day at the American Antiquarian Society in Worcester. They are both anthropologists and history buffs. The Antiquarian Society is a fascinating place and houses the largest collection of books, periodicals, collections etc that were printed through the year 1876 in America. www.americanantiquarian.org/about You can read about if you'd like! So, for them, this is the perfect day! This friend has a huge collection of ancient coins from the time of Jesus and earlier as well as a museum quality collection of Navajo pottery. She is my oldest friend going back to 7 years old in Ohio and was the Maid of Honor at our wedding so it'll be great to see her. She's my sister, truly. I grew up as one of five kids and she was an only child so I had the advantages of traveling everywhere with her family - Florida, Washington, DC, and lots of other places, etc. and she spent loads of time with us at the Cape and at our house. We had the best of both worlds. I am with you, Sue. I am not stockpiling toilet paper, though as I told you guys the other day, my DH does that as a matter of habit. LOL COVID-19 is not his reason! I can ship some to all of you and he'd never miss it. Ha! I rolled up my sleeves last night and did some home scrubbing in prep for the baby and DGS and DDIL tomorrow. We are "neat enough" for us but I needed to clean and tidy up for them. I worked for a couple hours and said "good enough". I think if we got rid of half our stuff, life would be much easier to keep organized. Ann, glad you had a restful night. I had a good night's rest but still a little tired for some reason. I tried to watch This Is Us on Amazon last night thinking I'd missed this week's episode, but realized they must have skipped this week due to Super Tuesday Election returns. Or, maybe the season is over? Sue, do you know? TTFN...have a great day. I am headed home for lunch to let D&D out for a while since we are gone many hours today.

Sue congratulations on your super weight loss It's always nice when you work hard and are rewarded. Nice that you have a VBF to attend meetings with. Like you whenever I shop I always leave something behind for the next person. Especially items that are on sale. Enjoy your shopping. Hoping you get back into your sleep/awake pattern. I am a night owl so for me I never see my pillow before 11:30-12:00! Then again I do nap or relax during the day so I suppose it all evens out. LOL Judy! Yes you DO have enough food however it's the cooking and cleaning up that will get in the way of sitting back and enjoying your company I never need anyone to twist my arm to eat at a nice place with good company and have it all DONE for me lol. I am sure you will all have a grand time at the Antiquarian Society. What a thoughtful place to take them. How nice that you spent so much time and have so many fond memories of your DF growing up. Wonderful. We heard from the guy that does our taxes. Just made out the check to him and to the lovely state of MA. No surprise there...we always pay out to the state and what we get back from the Federal will go toward our car payment. Well, time for me to think of lunch. I'm leaning toward either a salad with chicken or a tuna sandwich...decisions decisions Will CBL

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
I am home and all caught up. I stopped at Meijer to shop and found all the shelves full - even the antiseptic wipes (which seem to be out everywhere else) and hand soap, etc. There were no empty spots on the shelves! I got one pack of toilet paper and some Kleenex and one 6-pack of mini Diet Cokes for a spare. The water shelf was full and I nabbed 2 gallons of distilled water and left plenty behind. As soon as we can turn off the furnace I will pack away the bedroom humidifier and be using LOTS less distilled water!
On the way home I talked to DH. He is getting brakes put on his truck and should be home soon. He suggested a pizza night and asked if I'd pick up fresh salad makings while at the store. Sounds like a plan! I think the night after WI is the perfect time to splurge a bit.
We were bagging up Halos (tangerines) for the kiddos at school today and they looked SO GOOD! I ended up buying some at Meijer. They only came in a 3-lb bag, so we have a lot but I think I will share some with my neighbor (who kept us in corn and tomatoes all Summer). I just ate a (home cooked) HB egg for a snack with a Halo and it really hit the spot!
Judy ~ Have a fabulous time tonight!
Ann ~ I thought of you when DH suggested pizza - as "pizza happens". YUM!
Time to go watch the early news.

Hello friends!
Sue - Congrats on the awesome WL! Your hard work has certainly paid off. I have been worried about what low income folks will do when faced with empty shelves in their local stores and limited ability to shop elsewhere. People need to get a grip on reality and not be so selfish. How much TP can one use during a 2-3 week quarantine?
Ann - Good luck on your WI! I'm sure all your "hood walks" will pay off.
Judy - Enjoy your dinner out. Old friends are the best friends and you two sound more like sisters.
I had trouble getting to sleep last night, after sleeping 9 hours the night before and didn't turn in until 12:45 AM. I slept well and got up at 7:00 to be a church for 8:00 with a friend to vacuum floors, change holy water, etc. We finished in an hour and chatted for a while. When I got home I started washing all our bed covers from the mattress pad upward and installed our new foam pad. I'm hoping that will help with my back issues. If not, we will go mattress shopping.
Tonight, we will go into BTR for dinner at our favorite Italian restaurant (you know, the kind that uses Mama's original recipes?) and then a little theater performance. It's a comedy called The Fox on the Fairway. We should be home by 11:00 PM.
The weather is in the mid-60's and the sun is finally out. We have had standing water in the ditch in front of our house for months now because of all the rain.
DH broke a tooth Friday night and had the remainder pulled yesterday afternoon. He has been eating soft foods and so I have just about eaten up all the leftovers in the fridge. Tomorrow night we will help with a fish fry at church, so that will be dinner. Then we'll have to start cooking again.
I hope y'all are having a great day!

Back from my meeting and I actually stayed. There is one gal that I connected with, and when she's there, I'll stay I'm up .2 which is no big deal to me. This night meeting is for the birds. I can't go from breakfast to supper with nothing in between. Most people that go skip lunch. I'd be on the floor LOL....... I would LOVE your 60 degree weather, Pam. Enjoy. We had no wind and sunshine, but it was still on the cold side, or at least it felt cold to me. I took one very short hood walk and that was it. The rest of the day I spent reading and doing laundry and a few other household chores. So sorry that your DH broke a tooth and had to have it pulled. Enjoy your Italian meal and the comedy performance after. Sounds fun and not that late of a night out. Hopefully the new mattress pad will make a difference. Well my supper is calling.....and I must go Sweet dreams all.

Good morning all. I had a night of mindless snacking. That 'end of the week' mentality came back and I listened. Will get back at it today. We are meeting up with friends at New England Seafood. I will not go hungry, watch portions and take the rest of the fish home for Carl to enjoy at a later time. Win Win for all.
Our oil dude is coming today to clean out the furnace. After that walk with Carl and LuLa run a few errands and meet up with our friends.
Will pop in later.......Hope y'all enjoy a wonderful stress free OP day.

Hey all,
TGIF. I am at work, but may duck out early based on when my DS and DDIL and DGB arrive from NJ. It’s a nice day so they should have a good travel experience. It’s about 4 hours on the road.
Sue, congrats on the hard won WL! Hooray. It feels so good to lose, doesn’t it?
Losing is not the name of my game after last night’s sumptuous dinner at Mare E Monti’s Trattoria. We all had the mussels in a delicious red sauce for an appetizer, homemade Pappardelle pasta Bolognese, and tiramisu desserts. I can’t tell you how delicious it all was! Worth every morsel. It happened to be Restaurant week so we were able to take advantage of three course meals for great prices, but of course we managed to offset that with a couple bottles of Chianti (thought of you, Ann.) Anyhow, we had a long and wonderful visit and hard to part ways as always when seeing a dear friends. She and I can talk about 3rd grade together. How special is that? I treasure it especially as my older relatives are now gone and my siblings are far away. It’s always good to have someone who remembers you when you were very young. Their daughter is an amazing young women who is a reporter for a Boston newspaper, but now applying to grad school. She has already been accepted to Harvard, MIT, Tufts, U-Penn, U-Michigan and U-Mass. That’s amazing. What a great kid, too, on top of being so accomplished. We’re all proud of her.
After such a fun night, I woke up with nightmares last night. I had watched a Vera Episode – murder mystery on Amazon. I dreamed about masked men trying to break into our house and I was kicking and screaming. DH tapped me and asked if I was all right and tried to comfort me. He said I was yelling and kicking. Must have been scary from his vantage point! Maybe the wine, Italian food and murder mystery put me over the edge. LOL
Ann, enjoy the nice day and good luck with the oil cleaning dude! Pam, I meant to congratulate your DGD for her school award! How wonderful !!!

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I woke thinking it was Saturday (again) until DH reminded me it was only Friday. Yay!! I have a haircut appointment today that I am looking forward to very much. He bought me a gift certificate for Valentine's Day that will cover my haircut and tip, so it's free to me! :-)
I had my Yogurt & Berries breakfast this morning and got some paperwork done and put some bills on Bill Pay online for next week. I had thought about going to the Fitness Studio this morning, but it would have been too much of a rush and I don't like to rush anymore. Maybe tomorrow ......
We have a grey, dreary, cold day outside and there is a rain/snow mixture falling. Yuk! But at least they are predicting high 50's by Sunday and I'll take that!!
Pam ~ I was wondering the same thing about how much toilet paper one needs? I didn’t think about the quarantine period for some reason. At least in our area only the big box stores are running out of supplies (like Costco and Sam’s). I found plenty of everything at Meijer which is where more low income families are likely to shop. I will have to make a trip to Costco because I need a couple of other (non-urgent) items and if they are still out of too many things, I will just start shopping at Meijer all the time. I would rather support the store who supports the community. Someone did tell me at school yesterday that Costco has begun setting limits, but it may be too little too late. So sorry about your DH’s tooth! That is a miserable experience as I went through “dental woes” a few years ago for most of a winter.
Ann ~ I am all too familiar with that mindless snacking monster. I also tend to do it after a WI so it’s a mental thing, not an appetite one. Nonetheless, you had a great WI and you nipped it in the bud. Way to go!!
Judy ~ Hope you had a fabulous time last evening. Can’t wait to hear about it.
My DH had a brainstorm the other day. He said he notices things that could use a Clorox wipe but he doesn't think to get one out of the cupboard. He wondered if I could buy an extra one and keep it on the back of the toilet where it would be visible and handy and a reminder. SO I did and he was wiping like a mad man this morning - the toilet flusher and door knobs, which led into our tablets and our phones, etc. I do them when I think about them, and now there'll be two of us working at it. Our cook at school had a good perspective yesterday - perhaps this scare (along with the run on hand soap) will result in less flu cases?? Wouldn't that be a silver lining?
Time to get ready. BBL. Make a great day!!
