Hi all, I’m turning in soon, but some good news to report! My DS called to say his dog is home from the hospital after his night on oxygen. Thank goodness. Our DDIL is not feeling great but her oxygen levels are great so that’s a good sign. She’s more worried that she might infect her dad and as soon as she’s feeling a little better she plans to go back to her own home with my DS. She won’t get test results for several days. Night all!

Happy Thursday all. Slept pretty well and counting my blessings. We never did get the rain that we were supposed to yesterday. Hopefully it won't 'show up' today so that I can get out and walk.
Praying that ServePro comes to pick up the fans today. Looking forward to doing 'laundry' LOL.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Thursday! We had a cold front move in overnight and our temps are 25 dg colder than yesterday. Oh well, yesterday's 70 dg was a gift and we'll accept it as such. I really appreciated being able to air out the house for a few hours. Wish I could say it helped me sleep well, but such was not the case. I was very restless; and woke feeling like what I described to DH as "sleeping sad". Not a good thing, but I hope to be better tonight.
Judy ~ I was so glad to read your post and your good news. It is great that your DS's dog recovered. I bet he will be leery of that porch railing for a while?? I know how much they become members of the family. Even though DH and I don't have a pet, you may recall that DH's VBF had the Boxer contingent (4) and they all considered us family and vice versa. They truly are just like children. Your DDIL will remain in my prayers.
Ann ~ I do hope they get rid of those fans for you in the near future!! I know you will be glad to get your laundry done. I have one small chore for today which I will do this morning.
I went on the WW site and cashed in some of my Wins for a $15 voucher then used it to order some WW treats. I usually do not buy them, but being stuck at home I find myself wanting a little something sweet after a meal, and they may be just the thing?? Anyway, with the $15 off they were very affordable and I have something to look forward to. I haven't ordered anything since before this all began.
DH got a call yesterday from his biggest (and favorite) customer that they had a piece of equipment that needed some attention. He got up early this morning and dressed - and I had to LOL because I pictured a little boy on the first day of school!! He is also happy that it will put a little jingle in his jeans. So I will take my morning walk alone today.
I showered and put on night clothes early last evening, so we got to enjoy quite a bit of TV together. I cooked breakfast today - actually microwaved it. I brought out 2 servings of the Breakfast Casserole I had frozen and sliced up some strawberries and a handful each of blueberries and we ate quite well. I have put four "eye of round" steaks in the crock pot with some golden petite potatoes for tonight's supper. Despite my great WL last week, I find I have become sloppy this week and did not show another one. I need to rein it back in and get serious (again!). Reminds me of saying "today again I begin".
If I'm going to get that one chore done I better get moving, so I can get in a walk before lunchtime.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good morning all!
I got in 8 hours' sleep, but woke very early with an aching hip. I got up and went to the bathroom, then got a drink of water and was finally able to go back to sleep until 8:00.
It is cloudy and warm, but no rain predicted. No breeze at present, so I'm sure the gnats are bad. There was enough of a breeze yesterday that I was able to get a walk in addition to 30 minutes of yoga in the morning. It helped my mood tremendously, as did our trip to Walmart to pick up DH's Rx. The pharmacy worker was making several deliveries as we arrived, so we had to wait a bit for her to get back inside to get DH's package, but we amused ourselves by noting who in the parking lot was keeping their distance and wearing masks and who wasn't. The most notable exception was a man leaning in the window of an occupied police cruiser, chatting with the officer and blowing cigarette smoke into the car. I joked that we should have snapped a pic and sent it to the Chief of Police.
We had a nice chat with our DF in San Antonio (DH's "adoptive" sister, who grew up next door to him). She is a hoarder and is probably more likely to die of Hantavirus or some other rodent-carried disease than CV. She is currently fighting an infestation in her house, but wouldn't think of calling an exterminator. She, a retired school teacher, was raised by parents who kept a meticulously spotless house and her mom was a nurse who once worked at the Mayo Clinic. They must be rolling in their graves! Hoarding is truly a horrendous syndrome.
We did well yesterday using up leftovers for lunch and dinner. I am leaning towards hamburgers and air fries for dinner tonight. I, too, struggle with snacking these days. I'm not sure if it's just boredom or feeding feelings of stress and sadness.
Absolutely nothing on the agenda for today and the weather prediction is rain for Easter, which would preclude another outdoor get-together at DD1's, so I am fighting sadness today. I'm hoping more yoga and a walk will help. I also need to finish The Yellow House before it gets repossessed by the library. I'm thinking it's time to get dressed, actually do something with my hair and put on at least powder and lipstick. That usually boosts my mood, too.
Have a great day!

Hi all,
Before I forget, I want to reply to posts I just read!
Ann, I hope the fan people show up so that you can get to that enjoyable task of laundry! lol I am doing it now and glad to be getting caught up during this period of "confinement." Ha-when I use that word it brings to mind the old Victorian novels where women were put into confinement when pregnant! ha I did walk D&D just as it started to sprinkle lightly and I did not mind a few raindrops as they were few and now it is raining at a good clip. They are saying our Easter will be a beautiful day - maybe like the one Sue got yesterday.
Pam, I am sorry you are feeling sad. I have had plenty of those down days. Just knowing it will pass helps. It is situational mostly in my case and caused by stress. However, today a little cloud has lifted. We had some good news - at least it seems that way - for DD as far as her small business grant money. The bank told her that they felt nearly positive she'd get the loan from the SBA so that will provide a lot of relief. She's holding her own and feeling better. Her landlord allowed her to pay half of her outrageous rent - that number would astound you because it is more than most pay in 6 months- that is California for you especially near Palo Alto. To give you an idea, building costs are about $1,200/square foot. I thought $350 was ridiculous. Anyhow, that is encouraging news and I hope the bank is right. Also, our DS's dog is moving slowly but doing better.
Sue, you are so right. DS's dog will have smartened up, we hope. I think he was thinking of the outdoor furniture at his old house and forgot he was 15-20 off the ground. It's a good wake up call for them to move the sofa away from the railing. They have a baby to worry about and he is getting around very well. DDIL is doing a little better. Her fever has broken, but she worries about her exposing her DF who has heart issues. I am glad, Sue, that your DH is working. That perks someone up fast. He sounds very resilient, but I am sure he is still very much grieving the loss of his best buddy. So sad. Did they get autopsy results yet? I wonder if it was COVID. Did he have other health issues? I do remember your friend's Boxers and I hope they have found good homes. I know you will miss them, too. What will they do with his restaurant? I am glad his son is still around and in touch with you.
My boss and I were talking yesterday. He is 99% convinced that when we were all so very sick in February that we had COVID. He said he thinks he brought it back from Spain and infected all of us. I did have nearly every symptom so I wonder. The absence of my taste buds sort of convinced me that it was it and I was so very sick for at least 10 days. Steroids like prednisone and strong antibiotics may have saved me. Plus all my inhalers and cortosteroid inhalers. Who knows? I guess when the antigen test comes out, we will know for sure.
Pam, there is not getting inside the head of a hoarder. I feel like I have too much stuff, there is a big difference between too many plastic tubs in the basement and true hoarding. It is such a weird phenomenon especially coming from such a neat family and a nurse mom, etc. Has she received help for it? One of my DSIL's has four - yes - four mini storage units filled with stuff. Her home is immaculate but she continues to buy and store stuff. That used to drive my brother bonkers. It's a sore subject with her children still. For example, when her kids were in college at UNC, she bought cases of sweatshirts and college memorabilia and just stores it all. I have been cleaning out old files and our file cabinet. I filled a few garbage bags of old taxes from the 90s, etc. that will be taken to the incinerator. I don't have a shredder big enough to accommodate all of it.
I had better get back to work. Talk soon and stay well. Oh- I have been doing online WW meetings in different areas - a few times a week. It is really helping me. I am back on track and I think down at least 1-2 lbs since my big gain on Tuesday. I am dialing it way back on sweets and carbs. Those two do me in! I might check out the snacks, Sue. Thanks all for the encouragement.

P.S. Meant to past my meals because that helps - I had a half of a baked potato loaded with broccoli for my late breakfast! I wasn't hungry early so ate around 10 am. I put a bit of cheese on top, too. I forgot how much I love that for a meal. Lunch will be a big salad as DH went to Whole Foods yesterday and came home with plenty of F&V. That is about all we can afford to buy there, but we do love their quality! Dinner will be a Hello Fresh meal Sesame Beef Tacos with pickled veggies and a chili based sour cream - just a tad of that. They are easy to prepare and we have yet to have one meal we didn't love. It's been a lifesaver and our favorite meal plan so far. Better than BLue Apron which is our second favorite. lol
My nightly ukelele lessons continue. My fingers are sore, but I am having fun!

Men At Work are gone and yes, I am doin' LaUnDrY Oh for that simple pleasure, for which I'm grateful!!!! so sorry for your restless sleep, Sue. Praying that you get a nap in today and a good sleep this evening. Our weather is jsut plain nasty...drizzling and pouring and that will keep me indoors today. I can take a day off from walking as I'm exceeded my step goal for the week. Happy you were able to order some treats. I need a few more 'points' before I can cash mine in. Yesterday I had homemade bread with homemade chili and it bit me big time. I was up 1.3 today on the scale...still in my 'happy zone' but need to reel myself in. I'll join you on doing better today Enjoy your laid back day. Yuck to the person blowing smoke! sheesh....... Judy would love to hear you play the ukelele I bet you are better than you think. I do remember you being quite ill when your boss came back from a trip. Will be interesting to find out if in fact you were infected. I am tracked and planned for the day. Tonight I plan on attending my virtual meeting. If I don't make it back into the cafe, wishing all a pleasant Thursday. Stay safe and well. Pam sorry for the aching hip. Hopefully it will feel better today. I agree with hording. Carl is horrible in that department but luckily we have no 'critters' roaming around because of it. Hopefully she will call a professional to get rid of that situation.

I got a walk in and listened to some of my audio book (Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane) which is VERY good. That seems to have helped my mood, but not my hairdo, as it was very warm and humid out and I sweat a lot. Tomorrow's high is supposed to drop to 72, so walking will be better, I hope.
Ann - Happy laundry day! It takes so little to entertain us these days, lol.
Judy- I do remember how sick you were. Hopefully, you have put CV in the past.
Sue - Good choice ordering WW treats. Off to check my rewards level!

Happy sunny and windy Friday. It sure is a day for flying monkeys and witches on broomsticks, Ann! It's chilly out, too. I decided to shower, put on some nicer clothes (nothing fancy just a nice sweater and jeans), do my hair and apply makeup. I need a lift and I'm doing it for me. It's amazing how much better I feel just doing that simple task. I think you all have mentioned that. I may even paint my own nails! lol I am sort of glad I am rid of the salon nails because it makes playing ukulele much easier. :-) Someday, Ann, I might improve but really I am a beginner. It's so fun, though. Even DH is very kind and tells me he loves to hear me play during lessons. LOL We are trapped in here together so I think he is being very generous. He needs to be fed. LOL :-)
I sleep well and would sleep longer except D&D wake up early and want to go out in the yard and have their morning treat. They will be upset soon because all the treats are nearly gone. I placed an order with Chewy.com but it's delayed. I may have to dash out to the store to get them something. I sure wish I knew if I indeed did have this virus. I could be the official shopper if so, but I don't want to assume anything. It could have been just another virus.
Pam, I was thinking of your hoarder friend and the rodent infestation. It's astounding isn't it? I hope you will forgive me, but I found myself giggling when you your said she was more likely to die of the huntavirus than COVID. I have a dark sense of humor sometimes, but I know it is not the least bit funny. That situation is serious and you are probably right! Wish she'd do something. I hope she lives alone. Can't imagine any other people subjected to that. The poor thing.
Breakfast was a soft boiled egg and lunch will be another salad maybe with Tuna.
How will you each celebrate Easter? We talked about driving to the Cape tomorrow. It's only an hour and fifteen minute ride and we can use a change of scenery. I'll pack up the food. DH really wants to go. I don't have a ham or lamb or any traditional Easter food in the house but I do have a nice couple pounds of jumbo shrimp and we may do non-traditional shrimp scampi or something like that. Oddly enough, my DH really doesn't even like ham or lamb but I do. So when I want them, I generally get lamb chops and grill him fish or something else. I am grateful that I was not victim to the Cadberry chocolate eggs (the small crunchy ones) or the jelly beans this year.
I will try to find the book you liked, Pam. My last book poofed away. I might break down and buy one I have been wanting to read - Eric Larson's new one.
Ann and Sue, have a good day and looking forward to your updates.
TTFN...

Judy GMTA...I did the same darn thing and feel MUCH better. I stepped outside in the screen room and didn't last long with the wind! I am loving the wind chimes, though. So relaxing. Skipped the early a.m. LuLa walk with Carl as it was just too much for me. After our second cup of coffee I'll brave the great outdoors and walk...just not sure how long I'll last. Something is better than nothing and I shall keep that in mind. Stripped the bed and washed and dried sheets. Nothing like fresh smelling sheets to end the day with Those little things are worth a million For Easter, we will have ham. Luckily we picked up a ham and froze it long before this COVID-19 came about. I put it in the fridge and it's all defrosted. Carl may smoke it or we may just do it in the Instant Pot. I will make green bean casserole and asparagus for Carl (I am not a fan) and a salad providing we still have salad veggies available. I need to check. Either way, we won't go hungry, that's for sure I'm also not fond of lamb. Your DH has good taste LOL. Should you go to the cape, enjoy the change of scenery. Going to sip that coffee and then head on out to get the mail. Will CBL.... so grateful having a cafe to pop in and out of

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! Well, our Governor held a press conference yesterday and the stay-at-home order has been extended until the end of April. No surprise there at all ...... I am so aggravated with one of our radio personalities though. We heard last week that because Lowe's and Home Depot stores were deemed "essential" and allowed to stay open, customers were buying many non-essential items. The Governor strictly prohibited that! She said those stores can stay open, but they can only sell 'essential' items ... no gardening or landscaping or home improvement, etc. items. So our radio DJ is warning people to "get there today before midnight" to buy your supplies that will be deemed non-essential by tomorrow. Seriously?!? I know people are bored and maybe it would be a good time to redecorate their homes, but we all know how many trips out that can entail not to mention the numbers of people 'out and about'. They just don't get that she is trying to get people to STAY HOME! No matter how many times she says it ......
Now we have an uprising because though golf courses were supposed to be closed, some were open and had golfers on them. The news station sent up drones that took videos of multiple groups on the golf course. The owners simply said "Nope, we're closed". So the police agencies will be ticketing the golfers and the course owners. Then there is the big boo-hoo about her declaring landscaping services non-essential. She tried explaining that "essential" includes things that may contribute to keeping us alive (not necessarily comfortable or entertained). I finally turned off the radio ..... I get that our Governor is trying to keep us safe. She emphasized we have TWO disasters occurring at once ..... a Health crisis and an economic crisis. But if we don't get the health crisis under control, the economic one will just last longer. I am all for getting it under control and getting life back to normal. Thanks for letting me vent! I couldn't believe what I heard on the radio this morning! Like this is some sort of game!!
I got a good night's sleep last night and feel much more rested today. Our weather has turned cold and windy but at least the sun is shining. I don't know if I'll walk today or not. I will think about it. Otherwise I will just take a DOR today.
Our eye of round steaks in the crock pot came out delicious and very tender. I have two left for another day. I cooked the last of my petite golden potatoes in the crock pot with the meat and served it with sliced carrots. Yesterday after my morning walk, I was 'starving' so I drank a Premier Protein shake, then DH called and told me he was going to be home soon so not to eat lunch. He brought us tacos (from the place he worked yesterday). I have been drooling over the Taco Bell commercials (and I don't even like Taco Bell). But I do love Mexican food, though DH does not (he can take it or leave it). So we had a wonderful lunch!!
This morning I had my (FF plain) Greek yogurt with blackberries and a bit of Fiber One (original) for breakfast. I have already tracked snacks of HB egg and tangerine for later. I am thinking of what to have for lunch; but supper will be Uncle Ben's Rice Pilaf topped with tuna & Cream of Mushroom soup with green beans on the side (a comfort food favorite for us).
Ann ~ I had to LOL about your happiness at hearing the washer and dryer ... but honestly I can relate!! Glad to hear you got a good night's sleep. I was fearful that I might not, as I had a bit of the drearies yesterday, but I shook it off in time to sleep well.
Pam ~ I'm glad I reminded you to check your WW Wins points. I never remember to check mine, and since I track online daily, I have a huge number! Once I ordered a cookbook only to find nothing in it that I want to make <LOL> But I use it to hold recipes that I print online for my Instant Pot.
Judy ~ It was interesting about your boss' take on the COVID-19 virus. We have begun hearing reports that it may have been in our area much earlier than anyone (official) thought. Your report reminded me of my DH who had a terrible cough with shortness of breath in February. He was so sick that his VBF had texted me that he was worried about him because he looked so grey. I remember days that he came home early and literally FELL in his chair he was so fatigued! He was treated with antibiotics which did not clear it up, but then when they put him on a Z-Pack and Albuterol inhaler he finally began to improve. DH, of course, questions whether he had it. He also credits our being on Emergen-C for weeks as a bonus! Wonder if we'll ever really know??
As far as Easter, we don't have any plans. I have one ham meal remaining from DH's VBF's gifting, so I will thaw it out for Sunday. I did not grocery shop this week (per our Governor's request) as I have plenty of everything. I tend to stock up things that I've heard people mention being low on (like milk and eggs and bread).
DH needed to Rx refills and I texted them in yesterday and they were ready today while he was out running errands, so I put them on "Express Pick-Up" so he wouldn't have to wait long, and I already received notification that he picked them up.
I think I will step outdoors for a minute and see what it's like. If it's cold, I'll be right back.
BBL. Make a great day!!
