Sue your example is why I don't 'listen' to the news. It's easier for me to read what I feel is reputable and only when I feel I can handle it.
Happy you slept well. I knew that y'all could relate to hearing the 'music of the clothes washer and dryer' LOL. Today I'll add wind chimes as it's quite blustery out there! We took a hood walk and I was happy to get back home. The wind comes in spurts, so hard to say when it's a good/bad time. I will go out again...later on...and call it a day.
I also feel that a lot of folks were plagued with this virus before it hit the news! So scary as who know what anyone was spreading!!!!!
We heard from our insurance company and we are not covered for the ServePRo people. Seeing as we had no damage in the inside of the house, we have no clause in our policy that covers a 'shared septic system'. Now it's up to HOA to pay...or not. We most definitely don't have the $$ to cover a bill like this. I'm trying not to dwell on it...easier said than done. Doesn't help matters that the lady that runs the office leaves MUCH to be desired. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
Going to heat up some soup for lunch. Getting a little hungry.
Later....and thanks for listening.

Hey again all, We just had out weekly splurge of pizza and salad from a favorite takeout place. I had two slices and a nice big salad and I’m phlegmy satisfied for the rest of the night. Thank goodness that chocolate cake is in the freezer with just a couple of tiny pieces left for treats later if I want one.
Sue, I wouldn’t be surprised if your DH did have COVID-19. Who really knows? I guess they are working on the simple blood test to determine who’s had it to see who might be able to return to work first so I am anxious to see when that comes out because I’d love to have it. I wonder if your Dh’s friend also had COVID-19. I also agree with you about the jamokes who are rushing out to the store in your area after being urged to do so by a thoughtless radio announcer. What the heck is wrong with people? I am also seeing ministers in different parts of the country urging people to congregate at church on Easter! I think they should be arrested. Having an online video service works very well during this pandemic.
Ann, I am so sorry that your insurance will not help pay for the expensive Servpro septic system fiasco. We spend so much on insurance and I swear they try to get out of paying for nearly everything. Yet they seem to pay for some very stupid things. For example I Have a neighbor who traveled for six weeks during January a couple years ago and turned her heat way, way down . Her pipes froze filling her entire house up with water up to the second floor. Insurance paid for everything even carelessness like that. She used no common sense and yet she received a brand new house basically. As they say, go figure. At any rate, I hope you get some help from your homeowners association as you certainly should. Keep us posted and I’ll be thinking of you.
I’m off for my nightly ukulele lessons. Have a good night everybody.

Thanks Judy. I appreciate your kind words. There's nothing we can do till Monday as the office here was closed today. I also had a neighbor that did the same thing when we lived in Worcester. People just don't use their heads! I also agree that all meetings church services and the like should be virtual.
I only managed one walk today. Just as we were getting ready to go again the wind really picked up and it began to pour.
Sweet dreams.

Good evening friends!
I will chime in on church services as I attended one today. At 3:00pm, we parked in the church parking lots, tuned our radios to 90.1 FM and our priest, whom I could see, sitting on the front porch of the office, led us in the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, broadcast on the radio. It was so good to hear his voice! Vehicles were well-spaced and no one got out of their cars, but just seeing the number of us gathered there was heart-warming. We will repeat this for another 8 days to make a novena, or 9 day prayer chain. He is also making use of recorded talks and our deanery (group of area churches) has online Mass available daily. And no one's life is being put at risk.
We chatted with DD1 and DD2 at different times today. Everyone is doing well. DD1 posted pics of the various "forts" Abby has built with blanket and chairs, tables and broomsticks. Per Abby, while tapping her finger at her temple: "Just a small fort. It's all in the plan. You've really gotta think it through." Love that kid and her creativity! She had to give up one fort which utilized a broom, as mom was off today and there was housework to be done.
I got in a walk today and DH and I took a ride to town to pick up a Walmart order which contained everything we ordered, including a spiral-cut ham for Easter dinner. DH said it was weird to feel we accomplished something great just by getting a complete order, lol. He made crab quesadillas for dinner that were great.
Since we have severe storms predicted for Sunday, we plan to stop by DD1's house tomorrow, for a yard visit and to drop off candy for the DGKs and Easter window clings and stickers for Abby. I put similar in the mail this week for Madison and Leah, but it is doubtful they will get them in time, as DD3 says they are only getting mail deliveries every other day and are still waiting for the seeds DH mailed on Monday, which normally would have arrived no later than Wednesday.
I started watching Mr. Selfridge on Prime and am enjoying it. The costumes are gorgeous and the story lines are entertaining.
Ann - A pox on your insurance! I hope the HOA comes through for you.
Judy - I know exactly what you mean about clothes, makeup and hair making you feel better. I have been striving to do better in this regard so that I don't wince every time I look in a mirror, lol.
Sue - I can see your Gov.'s point. While working in the yard or completing a home improvement project might be okay and a pleasant way to pass the time, the number of people who will show poor judgement and pour into Home Depot and other such stores will only prolong the agony. Some of these types of stores here have offered to accept online or call in orders and will deliver to your vehicle, just like the grocery stores. People are getting innovative out of necessity.
I'm going to watch a little more of Mr. Selfridge and then read a bit before bed. Sweet dreams!

Good morning all. Going to be a much better day today and I shall take full advantage of the less wind and sunshine.
Pam your pastor sounds like a very intelligent man doing things in a safe fashion. Enjoy the services. I know you will. Thanks for the link.
Also thanks for all the prayers. We will more than likely have the official news on Monday.
Take care and I'll CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Saturday! We have a warm-up of sorts today. Right now it is 31 and sunny but the RF is also 31. Yesterday when it was 37, the RF was 27!! That wind!! I did get out for one hood walk in the afternoon, and it wasn't too bad then.
Ann ~ I am so sad that your HO insurance doesn't want to help with your dilemma. Sometimes I think that all insurance companies want is to collect $$$! Hopefully your HOA will help you out. That is so unfair!!
Pam ~ How great that you got to enjoy a "church service" with your own officiant. I totally agree with the churches that are getting creative in providing worshipers the opportunity to participate without endangering anyone. There are many in our area as well. Thanks for the link. I read the whole article with much interest!
Judy ~ I love hearing about your ukelele lessons! Whatever made you think of that?? Your pizza and salad supper sounded divine!! That is, of course, one of our favorites! DH and I were talking last evening about how sick he was back in February. I have NEVER seen him that sick!! His color was ashen and he was freezing all the time and so short of breath that he couldn't work, then there was the extreme fatigue. At about the same time I had that outbreak of shingles and my doctor had me on antiviral medication - but I had a month of such extreme fatigue that I don't recall ever having with previous shingles outbreaks. All this makes us wonder as well, and perhaps when that antibody test becomes plentiful we will get checked. Of course, we have both wondered if DH's VBF had it?? His symptoms were certainly in line. Since we were unable to get a PM done, we'll never know.
So far today I have mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors. That was the only thing left on my "to-do" list for this week. As soon as DH kissed me good-bye to go run his errands, I stripped the bathroom and put all the towels (along with kitchen) in the washer. I grabbed my Swiffer and wet wiper cloths for it and went to town. Then I vacuumed both floors while the freshly shaken rugs are airing out outdoors. I will put the rugs back in place and hang fresh towels in a few minutes. Then I'm all caught up for this week.
We had our tuna & Cream of Mushroom over Rice Pilaf last night and enjoyed it very much. This morning we had toasted Thomas' Everything Bagel Thins with LF Cream Cheese and Hormel bacon slices, alongside sliced strawberries and blueberries. I have thawed the last container of Turkey 3-Bean Chili for supper tonight.
Yesterday would have been my day for a haircut. Now I am officially beginning to look "shaggy". But it is what it is. My nails have now gone four weeks, but every couple of nights I file the tips down a bit more so they don't grow out too long. I have a light pink polish on so it isn't terribly noticeable. BUT if I were to go anywhere (which I'm not) others would look just like me. Maybe it will become a new fad?? Nope, guess not. How are all of you faring with hair and nails??
I will go now and put the towels in the dryer and replace the rugs and hang fresh linens in the bathroom; as well as make my bed. Then I can dress for the day. Speaking of which, I haven't put on make-up since Friday March 13th when DH and I went out for mock-anniversary dinner. BUT I do dress every day and that makes me feel human. Years ago I worked for a major health system as a transcriptionist and I was a home worker. Even then, I got up and got dressed every day and did my hair, etc. I usually worked in the early morning, then showered and changed and went out for a lunch date or errands, then came home and worked into the evenings. I loved that job!! It was the one that "went to India" via the Internet and I was so sad.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Popping in again. I can surely relate to 'that wind' Sue. Only good part about it was listening the wind chimes Thank you for your kind words, Sue. Yes it surely IS unfair. What will be will be....I'm just praying that it works out in our favor. I also agree that dressing up and putting on a little makeup helps. I just wish I could DO something with this HAIR. I text messaged my hairdresser wishing her and her family a Happy Easter and told her I am SO looking forward to seeing her in the near future It must be hard on those people being out of work. I also need fingernail attention LOL......One good thing is we can't 'socialize' so it's a good thing Enjoy your 3 bean chili. We had chili the other day and I froze the rest for another meal for another time. Tonight we are having Hannaford brand chicken nuggets with air fries. We love that as it's quick, easy and has the FEEL of being in a restaurant LOL.
Sue, I did all of my household chores yesterday. Only thing I shall do today is the never ending wiping down with Clorox as I see fit.
Time to get a move on. Will CBL.

Hi all ~ I thought I had my chores done, but instead decided to strip and change our sheets. The towels are drying now; and the sheets are in the washer. (Yes, Ann, I too love that sound!) Then I brought up the white vinegar and cleaned the coffee maker. While I was there, I emptied the ice cube trays. Then I found my vitamin sorter box was empty, so I refilled the morning and nighttime ones. Then I checked to see what I was getting low on. I hung fresh towels and cleaned all the mirrors. I found a bigger, heavier emery board so I am filing my nails down even more. NOW I think I'm done!!
Still looking forward to walking! It is now up to 44 dg and sunny with only a slight breeze.

I hope you are one and done now, Sue. I surely would be.
Had a nice chat with my friend. Alwaya fun catching up.
Also took a good hood walk. Went 2.4 miles. It's brisk, but doable. I'll go again later.

Hi all,
i loved reading all all the posts today.
Sue, my hair is getting shaggy, too, but worse are the grays! I use my little B.B. hair crayon for the roots if I need a lift. I’ve been trying to spiff up a bit every day because I was in a rut for a while. I even put on some makeup today and it definitely perks me up. Even if only my DH sees me, I do it for myself. As far as my dip powder nails, I removed the polish myself a couple weeks ago with the cotton balls soaked in acetone and the foiled wrapped around each nail. It worked well and my nails look fine. I’m glad because it makes playing the ukulele much easier! I played when I was a young teen and loved it, Sue. After our trips to Hawaii, I bought an nice one and took a few lessons but never found time to practice much. Now, a blessing of this virus confinement is the nightly Zoom lessons b6 a great and fun instructor. She is paid through the area libraries and on every night. I’ve been tipping her every week since the lessons are free. Tonight we played a couple Beatles songs along with the usual old folk songs. It’s fun. We did Danny Boy and Eidelweiss and we always end with Show Me the Way to Go Home. I’m getting a tiny bit better with an hour a night.
Ann, I hope the HOA helps you. It’s only fair with a shared system and I’m sure you have fees you’ve been paying for regarding upkeep. Fingers crossed.
i ventured to a stop and Shop today and I was pleased that there was such a huge assortment of food. I picked up lamb chops for me and a Cornish hen for my DH along with asparagus, potatoes, salad ingredients for Easter and loads of other things for the next week or two. The market was not crowded and well stocked except for paper goods. It was not crowded but I had my n-95 mask and gloves on. So weird to see everyone masked up in this new reality. It was my first grocery trip in weeks. My DH has been our shopper. We’ll have a nice Easter dinner. I have to say I was glad to get out knowing I was well protected. I also bought strawberries and angel food cake - a small loaf of it to have strawberry shortcake.
Pam, I registered for the trial that you sent in the article to see if I had the virus. Or rather, I sent an email expressing interest. We shall see. I’ll bet there are many who’ve had it either with symptoms or not. My DDIL is isolating. Her COVID test results were inconclusive. They think negative but a 30% chance of a false result. She’s really in isolation in her new home now as they don’t yet have WiFi or cable tv. Poor thing.
Have a a good night all.

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Easter!! It certainly doesn't feel like a holiday, but we are remembering instead the reason we celebrate today ..... HE IS RISEN!!
I slept well last night and woke early. DH went and did a small job yesterday which enabled me to get all the work done in the house that I wanted to, and I enjoyed waking up this morning to a nice clean house. We have had our blueberry oatmeal for breakfast and have ham & sweet potato dinner planned.
Judy ~ Glad you found what you were looking for at the grocery store. Your lamb chops sound delicious! I haven't had to go out masked and gloved yet, but am planning to shop tomorrow. Our Meijer store has been extremely busy (I heard). Apparently people are shopping 'for Easter' as if there were going to be big family gatherings?? So I will wait until tomorrow when it should be much quieter. My heart goes out to your DDIL.
Ann ~ Enjoy your day off from social media. Hopefully you'll get to walk??
I never did walk yesterday as I didn't finish up with housework and laundry until noon and my energy was spent. I had hoped to in the afternoon because it was 60 and sunny but just couldn't get myself to do it.
I had a momentary 'sad' last evening when texting with one of my great-nephews who had come to Easter dinner alone last year and spent a great deal of time with me. We both agreed we were going to miss each other this Easter. I do enjoy the big family get-togethers, but this year it is not to be.
BBL. Make a great day!!

We have mild temps today with sunshine off and on. I took a walk through the complex earlier; then DH and I watched a little TV and then took a double walk before lunch. Now I actually have satisfied my goal for today, so if I walk more it'll be a bonus.
We had LF cottage cheese with NSA peach slices and a HB egg for lunch. It was delicious as well as satisfying. I am catching up on our laundry, but don't feel any pressure as there is always tomorrow .....
We were able to catch two Easter services due to TV programming times, so we didn't feel like we missed worshipping on Easter. We both sent out numerous Easter greetings via text and email; and received back greetings that warmed our hearts. I guess that will have to do for this year.
Happy Easter, all!
