LOL Sue, thanks for setting me straight. I hardly ever pay attention to the DATES these days...especially when they all seem to roll together. Just a thought but maybe we could go back to starting a daily thread? ? I am up early, so don't mind doing it...or not LOL....just let me know. If I don't hear, I'll have to remember to check dates first Well, we decided to bit the bullet and go to our local Walmart. It was perfect as we had pretty near the entire store to ourselves. You had to wear a face mask or they would NOT let you in. Upon entering, there were signs saying that they were out of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizers which I thought was great as it saved time hunting! I managed to see the manager and thanked him for that. We scored TP PT and a lot of odds and ends that we needed. Unfortunately I'm not fond of their meats or produce, so we'll pick a day during senior hours and go to our local Hannaford's for that. We were so happy to have walked when we did as now we are having horrible rain! I doubt I'll get back outside today and I'm fine with it. Sue enjoy your walk and sunny weather. Hopefully ours will straighten out tomorrow. Take care all and will pop in later.

Good afternoon!
I have bread rising and have already taken one walk, with another planned for later. DH harvested more beets and beet greens and we decided, since we still have beets in the fridge, to donate these to my DB who lives down the street. We chatted for a minute and I was happy to hear all of his family are still well and employed, as are mine. I finished my walk, finished Tea Girl (awesome book!) and started a Sandra Brown, thinking it would be lighter fare. Ha! It started with a shootout between FBI agents and an ultra-right group with many dead and wounded. So much for lighter!
I face-time chatted with Leah and Madison this morning. Madison, after her daddy forceably removed Leah from her bedroom, gave me a tour of her room and "played Barbie" with me. It was so cute and she has a great imagination. Last evening I had a face-time with Abby and DD1. Abby was excited to report she has a new blowup swimming pool in the back yard.
We have a beautiful sunny day with a temp of 81. The gnats weren't bad last evening and DH and I were able to sit in the green room, but they appear to be back today and I had to come home and spray with vanilla to continue my walk after dropping off the beets at DB's. I am hoping the warmer temps will finish off the little devils.
I don't know if I mentioned before, but I subscribed to emails from Simon and Schuster (simonandschuster.com)and received a free book, which must be downloaded on an app called Glose. They allow me to choose a new, FREE, ebook every week from a choice of 5-6 books. So far, I have downloaded 6. I had DH sign up today as there was a civil war book as one of the choices, which I know he will enjoy.
Ann - I don't think I have read any of Terri Dulong's books, so I will have to check them out.
Sue - I knew you had a sunny day with blue skies, as Madison had me look out her bedroom window when we face-timed. You are doing a great job with the walking!
Judy - I hope your workday is going well!

Pam ~ It was so good to hear that you got to FaceTime with your little one! I am sorry the gnats are plaguing you,but hopefully it's only a matter of time.
This morning, as I got ready to go walking the sunshine disappeared and sleet began falling from the sky. So I gave myself a pedicure instead. I didn't polish my toenails because I won't be going barefoot for quite a while. But I did everything else. Then the sun came back out but it was cold and windy. I just took an afternoon walk, but it is 39 dg with a RF of 30 and strong winds. I only did one lap around the complex and called her done.
Ann ~ I would be agreeable to a daily thread. Depends on what everyone thinks. I just happened to notice the snafu this morning because I also mistakenly posted on the past week one, then went back and corrected it. Then I wondered WHY it was taking me there, and I found your posts. Yep, it's all too easy to do.
So the jeans load is washed, dried and hung up. I will have another dark load for tomorrow. I think I will make another Meijer trip later in the week as there were a few things I didn't get - and I'm adding to it already.
I am reading a Highlander Time Travel Romance book that I am really liking the characters in. I'll do more this evening.

Hi All,
It's nice to be nearly done with my workday and about to start dinner. We have our Hello fresh for tonight and I am trying to decide between the Pork and Veggie Bibibap (new sounding dinner to me), the Melty Monterey Burger or the Spicy Maple Chicken. All sound good but I am feelin' burgers tonight! DH always loves those. These are served with baked garlicky panko breaded zuchhini pieces cut like fries. They really have excellent meals!
I had a trustee meeting and a conference call with DD and her attorney. We had some very encouraging news from CA. But, I'll write it in an email. We have another call on Thursday with the lawyer. The work trustee call went well, but since we are all fundraisers, the outlook is not pretty. Some of the trustees are very high level and very wealthy folks who described the economic results of this virus - not to even mention the health issues which are much more important in all our views - as an enormous value destruction. That is scary. Hopefully it will get better. They said that it's huge even compared to 9/11 or to the 2008 housing collapse. I will not focus on that because hey, nothing we all can do. We are all in it together and many of the 1% (who these two were a part of) had so many financial gains just by watching their enormous portfolios grow. But, it is interesting to hear about from our humble standing.
Thanks for the new author recommendation, Ann. I will check her out. I also love a few I did not mention: Elly Griffiths, Jacqueline Winspear (Maisie Dobbs books), Louise Penney (Montreal detective series). So, so good!
I am still binging The Wire. I am really hooked. The acting is great. I'm glad I have it to look forward to after my ukulele lesson every night. I am in a routine for sure.
I'm tired, too, Sue. I did not sleep great. I wake up very early. Maybe this rain on the roof and it is pouring now will lull me to sleep tonight.
I went to my WW virtual meeting this AM. It is good to see my cronies in the group. We have a very nice group and I really like our leader. She's terrific. I go to her meeting on Friday sometimes, too.
All for now....Have a great night.

Hi girls. So good to catch up with y'all. Pam happy you got to face time with your DGK's. I bet that put a HUGE smile on your face I also bet your home smelled heavenly with the aroma of baking bread. I know when Carl bakes bread it's like a fine perfume to my nose LOL. Sounds like you are keeping very busy. I shall look into Simon and Schuster. I subscribe to book bub and they email me daily. Some of the books are free and others are minimal. I've gotten really good deals and of course the freebies from them. I so appreciate all the authors. Some I'm familiar with but have forgotten about and others are new to me. Hopefully the warm weather will put an end to those pesky gnats!!!! Sue our weather finally got better after supper. We took another walk and I'm also 'one and done' Between the extended walk today not to mention the shopping at Walmart and walk again tonight I have made and surpassed my Garmin goal. Now if only I can duct tape my mouth so that I can see another lower number on that scale LOL. I so need a manicure. I wish I could see well enough to do a good job of it. I keep on filing my nails down and pushing back the cuticles and I am constantly putting hand lotion on. That's about all I can do for now. My hair...well, we won't GO there lol. Tomorrow will be my laundry day. Heck, I may even strip the bed for something to do LOL. Judy I can see where you would have a hard time deciding your meal. They all sound equally good. Enjoy and I'm sure you and DH will Praying all goes well with DD. As I said, my heart goes out to her and her children and you and your DH. Things like this just should not happen to good people. I am so happy that you are enjoying the Wire. I mentioned it to Carl and maybe after we are finished with Better Call Saul, we will revisit it It's been awhile since I've seen that. Another one we enjoyed was the Shield. That and your ukulele lessons are a nice diversion I'm sure. Great that you got to see your 'cronies' at WW lol. I am now ready to sign off and relax. I'm exhausted. Hopefully I'll sleep better tonight. What is your leaders name? I may know her from Worcester or Leominster...... Sweet dreams

Good morning all. I was going to start a 'daily thread' but will wait to see what Judy and Pam want to do. Either way is good. Woke up to sunshine no wind or rain but it's cold out there. Doable as when I walk I'll just bundle up. We escaped the wind they said we'd get yesterday. It got windy during the night but not for an extended length of time. At least I didn't hear it Today when we walk we will check things out. Main thing is that we didn't lose power. Just cleaning on the agenda today with a load of laundry thrown in for good measure. Wishing all a healthy happy day and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Hump Day!! We have beautiful sunshine (again) but the temps are in the 20's. I still want to get out for a walk, so I guess I'll just bundle up. We are breaking records with our cold weather. The "average" temp for this time of year is in the low to mid 60's. I would like that very much!!
I did my "official" WW WI this morning and I was down 1.9. That makes an even 5.0 since my last WW WI on 3/4/20. I was definitely doing the happy dance! That was my goal. I would love to lose another 5 in the next month, putting me right where I am happiest.
I had a long chat with my VBF yesterday which improved my mood considerably! She has been to Costco recently and reported that the long lines she encountered at first are gone. In fact, she and her DH got through the store quite simply. Some of the things I needed I have already ordered from Costco.com. But there is still a list in my phone, though nothing I need urgently so it can wait.
DH and I made supper. His salad was delicious, as always! I grilled the salmon and then added some SF maple syrup. I season it with Old Bay Seasoning before cooking. I slept well except for waking up once and letting my mind race. I will have to give that old habit some very serious attention. I know how destructive that can be for me.
Ann ~ I am also curious what Judy and Pam think about going back to a daily thread?? If we decide to do it, I would wait until Monday though just to avoid any confusion. Since we're now going to 4-5 pages each week, I think it would be helpful to have one for each day. I plan to strip and remake my bed today too. Nice to have a plan??
BBL. Make a great day!!

Sue lots of sunshine here as well, but it's rather cold. Wind has picked up. No biggie as I shall just dress for it when I hit the pavement. I also long for 60-70 weather To me that's perfect! I have boxes of items ready to donate with nowhere to drop them off. Our thrift shops are closed. I'll just hang onto them until I can do my thing. Bravo on your fantastic weight loss, Sue. I bet you were doing the happy dance and I'll join you I never did get to strip the bed. When I went into the bedroom to do it, Carl had already made it up. No worries...I'll just have my FUN tomorrow LOL. Today I've already did the bathrooms and kitchen and dry mopped the floors and did a load of whites. Keeping up a routine helps. Then again this is pretty much what I used to do before the virus...not many changes there. Nice that you got a good chat in with your friend. I had a good text session with Donna earlier and enjoyed that as well. My day is planned. We are having chicken broccoli Alfredo for supper tonight. It's easy to throw together and I'll use up the rest of the salad greens for a small salad. Yes if we DO go back to the daily thread, I also think it's best to start on Monday! Later...........

Just came back from a short hood walk. Too many 'flying monkeys' out there and I'm not in the mood for them LOL. Went 1.7 miles. Perhaps I'll go again later on. If not, I'll catch the great outdoors tomorrow. Time to take some 'me time'

Ann ~ Thank you for mentioning Alfredo. I was in a dilemma as to what to have for supper. I found a box of Pasta Roni Fettucini Alfredo in the cupboard, then thawed some chicken breast tenders. I marinated the chicken in FF Zesty Italian, and thawed out some lunch-size beef patties. Then I found a bag of imitation Krab in the freezer and decided that would be really good in the Fettucini Alfredo instead of the chicken. So now I have tonight's supper ... plus chicken marinating and beef patties thawing in the fridge. Tomorrow I will fire up the George Foreman and grill the chicken, and the lunch-sized burgers AND two big sirloin patties for hamburgers for supper tomorrow. Then I'll have the chicken in the fridge as well as the leftover scalloped potatoes and ham. That should take care of the rest of the week. Especially since I will want to use a tuna meal in there somewhere. Whew!!
I did go out for a walk and there was no wind and it was sunny - so actually quite nice. I made two trips around and kept my jacket handy to go again. Since I've been back the sun has gone away and some dampness was falling from the sky. Guess my timing was perfect!
Big surprise - I saw our landscape crew out cutting the grass today. Michigan has not yet "opened" up so they must have just taken it into their own hands. I see no harm in it. They each work alone and don't come in contact with any residents. The smell of freshly mown grass was absolutely divine!!

Ann ~ Holy Smokes!! That bill is phenomenal! I certainly hope you get help with that. I will keep my fingers crossed!!
I went for a second walk (double) as I remembered that our Governor was going to do a press conference (update) at 3 p.m. So I hurried out and picked up my pace a bit and got 'er done. No news at the briefing today but she promised more on Friday.
My DH found out that our township and the neighboring one had lifted the ban on landscaping, so the guys could start before it became a health hazard. That made sense to me.

Like you I don't see why landscapers can't be out doing their thing as most work solo. That makes sense to me as well. Yes I surely hope that Hometown steps up to the plate and pays it. Now way do we have anywhere NEAR that amount of $$$. I thank you for your concern We just got back from what shall be my final walk of the day. I'm beat! Took 3 shorter than normal walks but that's okay. The wind isn't as bad right now, but I won't bother going out later on. I just want to sit and relax. It's been a tiresome day ... especially when we found out the amount! Waving to Pam and Judy and hope all is well with y'all.

Hi all
Another day when I didn’t have a chance to come on and say hello. I was very busy with three of those zoom calls that have become a daily part of life. Also I spent time on the phone with DD and it looks as though she will be approved for the second round of the small business care act loan so that’s a good thing. I’m losing track of days sometimes and tonight I’m especially tired so I’ll keep this short.
Ann, my leader is Linda Z. Do you know her? She’s very good and I like our group. Unfortunately, I was up again this week so I’m stepping up to do some exercise finally. I did a half an hour of silver sneakers this morning online, but my goal would be to do the kind of walking that you do, Ann. Wow, three miles!
I’ll be in touch in the morning. I’m signing off and heading to bed.

Good evening! I have been technologically-connected with a web meeting yesterday related to Senior Medicare Patrol, a Zoom Alzheimer's lunch & learn and a phone conference credit union meeting. I am sad because it was our last meeting with the credit union CEO who is retiring. We won't be able to have a last dinner out with her, much less give her a well-deserved retirement party. Anyway, before this is all over I may be Zooming my Alzheimer caregiver support meetings. This morning I decided to take a steel brush to the baker's rack I inherited from my parents. It is old and rusted out in spots, but DH discovered some verdis gris green spray paint the other day, so I plan to paint what is left of it and spruce it up a bit. It sits on the patio near the swing. I will probably keep it until it totally disintegrates because of the sentimental value it has for me. I have another that is a Hurricane Katrina survivor which belonged to the people who owned the property where our camp is. It will be my next project. Then I will try to put some plants on the shelves. I took a walk today, but just didn't feel like pushing it, so took it easy. I still got in 25 minutes, but it was starting to thunder, so I came home. We didn't get any rain, but we are under a tornado watch tonight and will have storms during the night and tomorrow. DH decided since we won't be able to do stuff outdoors tomorrow, it will be a good day to defrost the freezer and make a new list of what's in it, to help plan our meals. I am making a list of things we haven't been able to get through online shopping and am working myself up to actually go into Walmart one day soon. It's been more than a month since I went into a store, but I know I will have to go sooner or later. I will take precautions and try not to let my fears get the better of me. I don't worry about myself so much, but I don't know if I would ever get over infecting DH. It seems that CV-19 has a really bad effect on diabetics and I worry so about him. DH and I are big fans of James Lee Burke's series of books with Dave Robichaux as the main character. Tonight we watched In the Electric Mist on Amazon, with Tommy Lee Jones, Mary Steenbergen and John Goodman. It is set in south Louisiana and we both enjoyed it, even though we had seen it before. I think we changed to a weekly post to make it easier to scroll back and see what others posted without having to sort through multiple posts. But I am okay with whatever the majority decides about daily vs weekly thread. I wouldn't give this group up for anything! You are my tribe, with whom I can post my deepest, darkest problems, assured that I will find understanding and comfort. Ann - My heart lurched on your behalf about the ServPro bill! What exactly did they do for $11,529??? How many hours work? I would be asking questions, even if the HOA is responsible. That just seems outrageous. Sue - Congrats on the AWESOME WL!!! You are killing it, Girlfriend! Judy - Our credit union meeting hit the same mood as your fund raising one. We have experienced hurricane aftermath before and survived, but nothing has prepared us for a pandemic that is nationwide. Usually, when one part of our country is hit by tornadoes, earthquake, hurricane or forest fires, other parts of the country step up and help out. This pandemic has hit us all a BIG sucker punch and how it all plays out remains to be seen. Our country hasn't experienced something this devastating since the Great Depression and it will take a long time to recover. My beloved little theatre group is struggling to find a way to survive, but I don't see how they will. The arts and charities will suffer greatly, I'm afraid. DH has gone to bed and I am jammified and will watch an episode or two of St. Elsewhere on Hulu before turning in. Sweet dreams!
