Good morning all. Slept just okay last night. Guess I had the bill on my mind. I had strange dreams but don't remember them. Just as well. Today is cold and sunny with no wind. I'm liking the no wind part. Pam so happy that you are keeping up with all you do via Zoom. Enjoy your projects and I hope you score on all that you need when you to out. I know...scary stuff these days. The people from servpro came 3 days and I'd say they were here at least 6-7 hours each time. From what I heard, that sort of thing is very expensive. Not sure that I am going to quibble the price. First off they had an engineer come down and measure the area that had to be cleaned so I would say it goes by that along with the number of people called in to do the actual work. I just pray that Hometown comes through for us. Glad you weighed in on the thread. I too want to keep it up and running Wishing Sue and Judy a wonderful day as well and will CBL

Good Morning, WW Friends ~ Happy Thursday! This morning DH read me a (Pooh) cartoon where one character asks "What day is it?" To which Pooh answers "It's today!". That definitely applies to all of us, does it not?? We are having a record breaking cold April. Our temp this morning is 35 with a RF of 27. There is wet stuff falling from the sky, so I don't know how I'll do with my walking program today. I received my WW order of snacks yesterday. I had only ordered them to use some of my WIN points. But found the bars are 12 to a box and they are a good size and only 2 SP. I am sure I will make good use of them. I don't usually buy commercial products, but made an exception for this one. I usually prefer Jello SF pudding or Light & Fit yogurt or Kroger LF NSA fudge bars ..... all of which are only 2 SP. So now I have more choices. Yesterday I remembered that a former co-worker had posted on FB some time ago that she was making and donating fabric face masks. I reached out to her last night to see if she had any left, and she is going to bring me over 4 today. Since I suspect we will be wearing them for some time, it will be nice to have choices. I only wish I could see her - - but she offered to leave them on my front porch. I will leave an envelope with a Thank You card and some $$ there for her. Pam ~ You are certainly staying busy! It is so sad about your CU CEO. So many important things are having to be skipped because of this virus! You are definitely making strides with technology in keeping involved. Did you always know how to do all this?? I can certainly appreciate your concerns about potentially infecting your DH. Mine is a cardiac patient and I had the same feelings. But I believe with proper precautions, we will all be fine in the grocery stores. He goes to Kroger and wears mask and gloves and washes his hands as soon as he gets home, and he has been fine. Judy ~ The first person I thought about when I heard the news about the added SBA loans was your daughter. The report here said if you had applied before the money ran out, you did not need to reapply - that they would keep your application active. I am so glad to hear that she got her approval! I know that is a huge relief for you! Ann ~ I still cannot believe that price for repairs! I know people's time is important, but still and all .... Hopefully you will get at least some assistance with that! I wasn't surprised that you didn't sleep "well" as I wouldn't either. I had a night where I woke up and worried, but of course it didn't get me anything . DH is going to work today and is quite happy about it. It will give him something to do as well as put some jingle in his jeans. Both of those will be a blessing. I think while he is gone I will take advantage of the empty house to do all the floors; and then while I'm at it I will change the towels and wash them. I also have a couple loads of laundry that could be done. Since my Meijer list is growing (spurred by the items they didn't have last time) I think I will grocery shop again tomorrow. I totally agree with the importance of keeping this thread up and running. You guys are such a very important part of my life! I don't care if we do daily or if we do weekly - just so long as we keep the Cafe open and the lights on. I will go along with whatever the group decides. BBL. Make a great day!

LOL Sue thanks for starting my afternoon off with a smile on my face And yes, it's oh so true! Carl figured out how they arrived at that price...they charge 7.50 a sq ft for their service. Put that way, and knowing what Carl told me it 'looked like' when he went under the house...well....I can better understand it. Not HAPPY, but I can understand...... I too will go with the flow as far as the Cafe is concerned. I may not always post to the correct one LOL...but that's okay too. Happy DH is going to work as you are right...it will give him someting to do. Men are different. So far I managed to strip the bed, wash sheets and a load of whites, shower, clean both bathrooms again and kitchen and ran the vac and dusted. I DO know how to have fun LOL. We also took a wonderful 3 mile walk in the hood. Absolutely gorgeous out there today. We'll go again later. So nice that your friend is going to leave your some masks. Our mail gal also is going to leave us some. We remember her on her bday and she said that she will NOT accept payment. I shall leave a card in the mailbox with a 'little something' for her time Well, going to finish up online stuff and then relax. Will CBL

Hello Cafe Friends!
We got right on the freezer first thing this morning and had it defrosted, inventoried, cleaned and put back to rights well before lunch. One find was several small containers of chicken and sausage gumbo, so I took one out for my lunch. I love gumbo year round, but DH is not a fan, so I try to keep some small containers to enjoy whenever I want. DH is making a Jalapeno Popper Chicken casserole for dinner, which we will have with smothered okra (also discovered in the freezer) and a salad. In deference to my sensitive taste buds, he will sub bell pepper for half of the jalapenos.
The storms in the area got pretty bad last night, with winds, hail, heavy rain and at least one tornado. FB was filled this morning with accounts of cell phones blasting warnings in the middle of the night. Lucky for us, they passed to the west and south of us, so all we got was rain. The sun is out now and 79 degrees, so things should dry up quickly.
I got all the wet towels from freezer cleaning washed, dried and put away and the bird feeders filled. That's about it so far. I didn't sleep well last night, so am a little low on energy. I have started dreaming about CV-19 every night. Nothing frightening, but if I wake, then I start to dwell on things and have trouble getting back to sleep. My friend's husband's funeral is this afternoon and that is probably part of it. That, and all the talk of "reopening" society. Louisiana has pretty much met the initial criteria for starting to allow some activities when the stay at home order expires April 30. Then, DH and I will have to pick and choose, discuss and decide when and if to do things. It was much easier to navigate with the stay at home order in place.
Ann - I guess it does take some expertise to decide what to do and how to do it to ensure there are no health consequences to the flooding, but goodness!
Judy - I fully understand the difficulties in keeping the days straight without our regular routines to guide us and everyday being pretty much the same. I am so glad your DD got the loan stuff straightened out! One less worry.
Sue - I learned to do phone conferences when I was still working, since I had staff located in different areas of the state and we used a consultant based in VA. We usually have one or more CU board members participating by phone, but I much prefer face-to-face and usually travel to BTR for the meetings and then whoever shows up enjoys dinner afterwards on the CU's dime, our only perk, since the board positions are entirely voluntary. With SMP, we have done quarterly meetings using GoToWebinar or GoToMeeting apps. They allow the presenter to share powerpoint video of materials. Yesterday was my first experience with Zoom. It allows both presenter and attendees to show up in video, have audio access and also allows powerpoint materials. I taped off my video camera so no one could see me, because my hair was a mess and my rosacea in full bloom from working outdoors on the baker's rack. I am pretty sure there is a setting in Zoom to turn off video, but I didn't have time to search it out, so the tape worked just as well.
I'm going to head over to the church parking lot in a few minutes for a recitation of the rosary. BBL to check on any updates.

Just got back from our final hood walk of the day. Very nice out there today. It surely lifted my spirits. Not many walkers out which was surprising given the weather. Pam how wonderful to go to the church parking lot for a recitation of the rosary. I am happy that I'm not working as I would be VERY lost with conducting business via the computer. My hat goes off to you gals I have a hard enough time attending a virtual meeting LOL.....I bet your freezer looks wonderful and oh so clean. We did ours about a week or so ago and I was able to find some 'hidden things' in the way back. I like to rotate as soon as I put items in...Carl, however, doesn't SEE it that way LOL. So now I am the one that puts away the frozen foods. Works better that way Your casserole sounds delicious. I am going to spend the rest of the day just kicking back. In fact, after I post I am going to get jammified. Hope we all sleep well tonight. Waving to Judy.....

Good morning and happy Friday. Just woke up and wiping the sleep from my eyes. I slept a bit better last night and grateful for it. Not a soundly as I would have liked to. Strange dreams....... So far we don't have rain. I did a lot of house chores yesterday so not much on the agenda today. I COULD find something that needs attention, but not going to look to closely A 'me day' is what I'm after. Take care all and will CBL.

Hi again all,
This site had issues last night and sent a message saying they would be shutting down temporarily. I’m glad that they figured out the kinks and got everything up and running again. In the meantime, I did send all of you kind of lengthy email filling you in on the last few days. But I did not get a chance to do any personals so if my feeble mind can recall I’d like to do some now.[br
] Ann, I am with Sue. Your Servpro bill does seem astronomical as it seems like the type of cost should have for a new boiler or something like that. But I have heard that that type of work is very expensive and I’ll be thinking of you and praying that your insurance company will help out. It’s certainly a time when they should. I sympathize with big bills because we have been paying unbelievably high attorneys fees. I shudder every month when I receive the bill to keep the retainer up to the point where it has to be, but DH and I agree that this is the best way we can help ensure a brighter future for our grandchildren. California is an astronomically expensive state - especially in Silicon Valley where DD lives no matter how you look at it and, of course, fees for lawyers are right up there with all the other very expensive services. Much more than here. And, there’s really no guarantee it all works in your favor. But we’d never ever want to try to navigate these waters without expertise. I try not to dwell on it because most of it is out of our hands.
Sue, I’m so glad that your DH is doing some jobs. I’m sure it makes him feel very good to get out of the house every day and do something productive that he feels is helping both of you! You’ve been busy as well with all of your home projects as has Ann. Today I really want to steam my kitchen floor too. Thanks for the support of remarks about the small business loan and I know you know exactly the type of situation our DD is in having been small business owners yourselves. Her loan was approved by her bank but now we have to see how quickly it gets into the queue for the small business Association and how they are doling out of money. It’s still an unknown but at least we’ve done all we can once again.
I’ve been kind of tired because for some reason our beloved little pets have been waking up at 4 o’clock the past 2 to 3 nights needing to go outside. These midnight potty runs are exhausting for DH and for me. But being home does allow me a little bit of downtime sometimes.
Ann and Sue, Pam and I can tell you that you would easily adapt to zoom meetings. They are very easy and just a click of a button and you’re in a room that feels a bit like romper room to me if you remember that show! This is why I have to put on a little make up nearly every day to spruce up! There is really not a lot of mystique to using virtual meetings so don’t get too impressed! 🤣
I’m off to make myself a soft boiled egg and a slice of Dave’s killer 70 cal seeded bread and log my food for the day. I’m really trying hard to watch every mouthful so that I’ll soon be able to let you all know that I’m seeing numbers go down. I’m not giving up on myself on this and I know I can do it. My motto for the day is Just Do It!! And “I believe.”

Judy so very happy you made it into the Cafe Missed 'seeing' you I believe that computers are run by aliens and at times they just....don't....cooperate Glad that you reached out in email. Unfortunately we won't be getting any help from our Insurance Company as the problems was outside the home and involves septic with 2 families that share one. I do get where they are coming from and I have not qualms with them not paying a dime. I am just hoping that Hometown America, after assessing the situation and reading our letter will come up with the $$ to pay them off. We live in a prefab modular mobile home over 55 community whatever you want to call it LOL and own the home but pay rent on the land. Way we see it is we don't own what went kaput! All we can do is pray that they see it OUR way. If not, we are clueless as to what to do next. I shall, for now, pull a Scarlett O'Hara and worry about that tomorrow. I'm thinking of my mom's words and Sue's DH's words BIG time and putting my faith and trust in God. It's all I can do under these circumstances and keep my sanity I have to keep reminding myself that I've been through a lot of hurdles in the past and gather my strength from that. Sheesh...didn't mean to get so long winded here!!!!!! LOL Judy, I'm impressed when I can go from desktop to phone and do what I want to do. I didn't bother to go to my Zoom WW meeting as my 'mindset' wasn't THERE....plus we were out beating the pavement at that time which was more beneficial to me. Walking is a great stress reliever. Enjoy your breakfast, it sounds great. Must be some 'canine' thing' going on as miss LuLa has been waking Carl up at odd hours to 'go out'. I'm wondering if they aren't picking upon our nervousness during this time? Just a thought. Love your motto of the day. Time for coffee

I meant to add that I discovered a fun new show on Amazon's Acorn TV. IT is called Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries and takes place in the Roaring 20s. She's a detective ahead of her time and it's lighter than the dark ones I often watch...lol...and I am getting a kick out of the fashions and her pizzazz. Fun to watch and light.
I baked a blueberry pie last night for DH. I am not a huge fan and he was dying for one. I used half the sugar and he reports that it's plenty sweet. If I crave a sliver and have enough PTs left tonight I might have a teeny bit. But, for now, it's tucked away in the fridge and not a temptation for me. So much is mindset, isn't it?
Ann, I am sorry that insurance declined it. I agree with your assessment of who is responsible. You probably have some fees for upkeep and hopefully the development should cover at least some of it. Be like Scarlet for now as it is out of your hands until you know. That Scarlet knew how to cope, but she was pretty dopey to lose Rhett for that namby pamby Ashley Wilkes. And Melanie was so sweet - how she could covet her husband galled me! LOL
P.S. I forgot to sign in and so I' officially a guest on this one.

Lol I agree with your take on Gone With The Wind. Thanks for the thumbs up on the series. We are having fun with Better Call Saul.
Took a very short hood walk as it's drizzling out there. Will go again later if it's not a downpour.
Also not a fan of blueberry pie. Then again if it's there and I'm there...get the picture 😋.

Good Afternoon, WW Friends ~
TGIF!! I was happy to wake up and realize it was Friday. I had planned to grocery shop today, so showered and did my hair last night. I am surprised it is as manageable as it is. Fortunately for me, last time I had it cut was right before the shut-down and my hairdresser cut it exceptionally short. Now I’m glad.
Ann ~ I am so sorry that the insurance company declined any help at all. But at least you expected that, right? Since it is a shared line, the Association should ante up at least most of it. Did it affect the other neighbor?? I am glad you are not letting this upset your day. There’s nothing you can do, so to worry yourself unnecessarily would be counter-productive. Hope you get some good news at the end?
Judy ~ I had to LOL about your putting on make-up for Zoom meetings. That should be the best advantage of working at home – less sprucing up. But my VBF told me every day she does Google Meet with some of her Kindergarten students, so she does hair and make-up. Me …. I haven’t had on make-up since March 14th and I don’t miss it one bit!! Oh my!! I absolutely LOVE blueberry pie!! So glad it is so far away. I couldn’t have it in the house.
Pam ~ Yay for getting your freezer defrosted and cleaned! We did ours a while back, so I doubt we’ll do it soon. I have been keeping it organized, and it is way less full than it was when we started this over a month ago. We almost never ate 3 meals every day at home, and since we’ve been isolating that is what we’re doing. We’ve probably had carry-in a half dozen times, otherwise I cook.
Tonight we are having riced cauliflower and carrot & zucchini zoodles with shredded chicken. I marinated the chicken breast tenders overnight then did them in my Instant Pot yesterday. That will be a very low SP supper. So we had Pasta Mug for lunch, so it will more than balance out.
DH got his job done this morning; and got a call for another one tomorrow. He is definitely perking up!! We just got back from a double walk around the complex. We have mid-50’s with sunshine so it was the nicest day we’ve seen in quite some time.
BBL. Make a great day!

Good afternoon from Liquid Sunshine MA Ohw ell....I believe it's starting to clear...third time today it 'tried' and perhaps this time will be the real deal! So happy that you and DH enjoyed a good walk around your complex. Also nice that DH has something to look forward to tomorrow...... Love that you also balance out your meals. Not sure how anyone can survive day in day out with only the 0 point foods!!!! I'm all about the balance and eating real foods Sue I'm hoping that Hometown will step up to the plate. For now, I'm just going to let sleeping dogs lie. Not much I can do about it at this point. Wish I could say the same for my hair! Oh well at this point I can keep it clean and styled best I can. I was supposed to go on St. Patrick's Day and cancelled out due to the virus. My last appointment was 5 weeks before that...so y'all can JUST imagine what it looks like. So far I haven't been 'shot at' when leaving the house to walk so it's all good LOL. Tonight supper will be simple. Carl will have the rest of the pulled pork with coleslaw and air fries, and I'll have the same two sides with a tuna rollup on Joseph's Lavash flatbread. I do have a question for those that do your own manicure...what is a good polish that goes on well and dries quickly? In the past I've used OPI but didn't know if there was a better one on the market. I'm afraid that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take off the gel polish (I have the remover and will use the cotton balls and foil) so no biggie there. I'll probably have to order it via Amazon as I'm sure that is considered a non essential item. Thanks I ordered a new CD player as mine went kaput. When Carl is watching tv I need to plug myself into music so that I can read or just relax and this fits the bill. It came today and I like it much better as the buttons on it are bigger for me to see Also got it with our points from Amazon so it was a win win It was just the thing to perk this ol' chick up LOL. Will pop in later.

Hi Ann, I have used both Essie and Sally Hansen. Both also have gel polish that’s a two or three step and lasts fairly well. None compare to the nail salon. But I’ve done them both and like them. They’ve come a long way. Sally’s beauty supply sells another brand that’s really good but the name escape.
Sue, I also received a big box of WW snacks for my winning points.i like the 2 pt caramel chocolate bars and the nacho chips.
Pam, good to catch up and seems like you are as busy as ever with home chores and still doing the rosary at the church parking lot. That’s really nice. I love when we do Amazing Grace at ukulele class.
Tonight is pizza and salad night...big night “in” for us! Lol. I worked the meals today around that. I had another tuna salad on romaine for lunch with hothouse tomatoes. Yum. I could eat tuna everyday but I know it’s be too much mercury! Have a good night all.

LOL Judy....I also love tuna. Albacore packed in water I mix mine with lite miracle whip, celery seed onion powder and chives and a little pickle relish I too could eat it once a day, but refrain and for the same reason! Enjoy your pizza and salad Thanks for the thumbs up on the polish. I shall look for one of those. Funny, but another gal told me about Sally's and couldn't remember the name. I used to get oodles of emails from them....haven't in a bit...wondering if they are closed as a non essential place of business? They have a brand new one at our new Market Basket Plaza. I also love the 2 pt caramel bars and those nacho chips are to die for. Last time I had chili I crumbled a few on top for added crunch...delish. Going to hit the pavement as our rain has stopped...for now anyway. Waving..........
