Good morning WW friends and welcome to another week! I slept well and grateful for that. It's going to be another nice day here. Luckily we don't need a thing, so no need to go to any market or pharmacy. We'll just walk around the hood and I shall do a few household chores.
Will CBL. Off to do 'computer chores'

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Monday!! And the start of a brand new week. I agree with Ann that maybe this brings us one week closer to returning to normal (or the new equivalent of it).
Our scalloped potatoes and ham turned out wonderful last night. I split it in half and we ate half and put the other half away for another meal. That made me happy!!
I got one double walk done yesterday in the morning, and then we watched movies all afternoon. We watched "March Of The Penguins" and then "Terms Of Endearment". That took us up to suppertime and then news. Our evening was spent with "60 Minutes" and "God Friended Me" - then an episode of "Chicago PD".
My DH is really being a great sport about all of this, but he did voice an eagerness to go back to work. That won't happen until some of our area restaurants start back up and find out what needs repairing. This morning he said "I can't imagine what people do that are retired". He has never spent this much time at home since we married. Since we live in a condo, there is no outdoor work to "play" with and it's still too cool in Michigan to enjoy being outdoors for long anyway.
This morning I had my Yogurt & Berries breakfast and showered and as soon as I am dressed, I will head out to the grocery store. My Meijer list has grown and needs to be paid attention to. I had good luck there last week on Monday about mid-morning, so will try that time slot again.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Good morning everyone! Ann, good to see you here bright and early.
I have a semi busy day today as far as I can see. Last night we had a very long chat with DS in NJ. It's unusual for him to want to talk an hour...lol...but they are in their new home busy unpacking and still without cable and Wi-Fi due to COVID. They are doing well but a little sad that our sweet little DGS won't be able to have a first birthday party this weekend. They had planned a Peter Rabbit party a while ago, but it will have to wait. I think my DDIL's parents are disappointed since they live nearby, but nothing they can do now. I saw another really funny video about a woman at her wits end with sheltering in place with her DH. LOL I will send it to all of you for a laugh. Too much togetherness at times. :-)
I'm off to do laundry and get cracking on my work for the day. I am relieved that my meetings are set up for the week and hoping the ZOOM works as it shoudl for the trustees tomorrow. FIngers and toes crossed. I always get nervous about technology things.
I can't wait to get back to The Wire tonight. Hooked, and Ann, I like Omar, too!!! My DS's friend is a homicide detective in NYC and said that the show is actually very realistic. Glad I am finally getting around to watching it.
TTFN...have a great day all. Oh, I had not one but two ukulele singalongs yesterday. My fingers are getting callouses...not really but toughening up for sure.

Sue, we were posting at the same time, again! I hear you on your DH getting bored and itching to work. My DH has been working every day and said that if he were home and sheltering in place, he go a little nutty. He loved retirement but he was very busy gardening and puttering around. I think he is very happy to be off in his truck on this project every morning and back by 2 or so. He doesn't interact with many people - drives into the project, snaps photos, comes home and writes up reports on progress. He also runs his errands.
I am doing fine being home really. I don't seem to get too bored between books, work, uke lessons and knitting. It does show me how much you need good hobbies and things to do when retired. Ann and Pam have it down pat. For the most part, I am contented.

Sue I also LOVE when a meal that is prepared is enough for another go around. Makes life much easier. I have oodles of meat sauce left that is all separated and frozen for many go arounds. I make enough for a second world country LOL...but it pays off in the end. Those moves are both great ones and happy you also enjoyed your evening tv programs. Praying that all works well with DH. I think it's harder for men to find their 'new normal'. With Carl it's a day to day thing. At least we have a reason to get up and walk LOL...LuLa is extremely demanding when it comes to her outdoor time. There isn't a rock or blade of grass that goes unsniffed Judy it just stinks that the DGK's can't have a party. Looking forward to seeing the funny video. Right about now I think we can all use a laugh LOL. About retirement, I can honestly say that I am never bored. There is always something to do and with me I sometimes take the things that I ENJOY doing and leave the rest for a day when I will tackle most of that 'stuff' all at once. What I miss the most is leisurely waltzing through a department store or supermarket and chatting with people...or just stopping for a cup of coffee and enjoying 'people watching'....... LOL to Omar..."I feel you' on liking him I also read where that series is very spot on. So happy you are enjoying it. Time for me to get a move on.

Good morning friends!
The laundry is going and DH has already gone to his wound care appointment, dropped off fresh beets for DD1, picked up some chicken & corn chowder from DD1 and picked up our Super 1 order. We put everything away and are back in the lazyboys with another cup of coffee.
It is in the 60's today, but should make it to the low 70's by afternoon. We got lucky yesterday and the bad storms with hail passed to the north of us. We did get enough rain that DH won't have to water the garden, which is good. I sat out on the patio swing for most of it and enjoyed the smell of the rain and the sound of it on the tin patio roof. It's the small things like this that are reminding me there is a REAL world in addition to the virtual one of videos, facebook, etc. and I need to be spending more time in the real one.
I was happy to find yesterday, before the storm, that my walking path in the cane field has been re-graded to smooth out most of the holes and ruts and the fallen tree that blocks the path has been removed. I am all set for dog-free walking in the shade, which will be important when it gets hotter. It also seemed the gnats were less numerous yesterday when I walked, but that could have been the copious amounts of vanilla water I applied.
I turned off the alarm at 7:45 this morning and snuggled for a while. I woke at 8:15 when DD3 called, lol. Chatting with her, Leah & Madison was a nice way to start the day.
We had boiled crawfish & shrimp on a salad for dinner last evening. Tonight will be leftover shrimp & crab al fredo. I love seafood and it's low cal. Or would be, if DH didn't load it with cheese, lol.
I am doing okay with being home, but I SO miss my DGKs and my volunteer work. I learned today, that the husband of a fellow hospice volunteer has died of CV-19. He was our landlord when we first moved back to the area after we married and was always very kind to us. I am sad for the loss and because we won't be able to comfort my friend and pay our respects at a funeral. I will try to call and talk with her later.
Sue - It would seem to me to be a great time for restaurants to repair, replace or upgrade equipment, while things are slow. Maybe your DH could reach out to some of his regular customers and ask. They may not have thought about it. Of course, because business is slow, they may not be able to afford it.
Judy - Sad that DGS's birthday party is a bust. Maybe they can do it later? DGS certainly won't care about the date of the party. It's nice that your DH and you can continue working and still be safe.
Ann - I also enjoy all the authors you mentioned. Elin Hilderbrand writes similar to Debbie Macomber, and better IMHO.
Have a great day!

I am back from the grocery store. They didn't have several of the items on my list, but they were not urgent, so no worries there! I tend to shop ahead most of the time, which works well for us. We did eat the last of our bacon last weekend, so I replaced it today. My small cart wasn't even half full, so I took advantage of doing the U-scan (which to me is much quicker). I also spent about half of what I expected, so that was a win!
DH had told me that he saw a sign out in front of a local alterations shop "Masks available". He stopped in to see and the lady had home-made ones that were quite nice. I checked them out this morning as it is right on my way to Meijer. Unfortunately they only take cash, and I didn't have my purse with me. When I go Meijer shopping I take a small bag with phone (for list) and car key and debit card. I made a trip home and dropped off my groceries and went back and purchased two masks. They are much nicer than the "homemade" ones that DH and I made a few weeks ago. So we have choices now. I keep mine (along with a pair of gloves) in my car as anywhere I need it, I will be going in my car.
Judy ~ I am so sorry about your DGS birthday! Fortunately he is so little that he won't care <LOL> Those events mean a whole lot more to us than the little person. I have felt sad for all those who had things planned that got pre-empted by COVID. A friend of mine's son had a wedding planned for two weeks ago. They went ahead and got married but had to cancel the reception. You are my hero with your Zoom technology!!
Ann ~ You are right, Lula is definitely an inspiration for you guys. Our MSU student (who is back home in Missouri) just adopted a puppy. She's always had dogs so the work involved won't be any surprise to her.
I picked up a can of Progresso Split Pea soup today and didn't realize until I got home that it was not "Light". But I scanned the bar code and it was still only 2 SP per cup, so it is something we will buy again. We ate it for lunch and it was quite good.
My DH is headed over to his "shop" (which is in a storage facility). He will be alone; he is the only one who works there; so there is no danger of infection. He said he has several pieces of small equipment that need some work (like new switches) and he wants to get them done. I think I will go for a walk while he is gone.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Hi Pam ~ I started writing my post, then got distracted. I came back and finished it up only to discover that you had also posted in the meantime. So happy your walking path is now more user-friendly.
DH and I had talked about his customers, but those that ARE open are only for carry-out (and some of them make most of their $$ on the bar). We were talking about by the time this opens up it may be time for him to start checking the A/C units and getting them ready for summer.
I went through my cupboard this weekend and found some vitamins and supplements that I needed to replenish. Since I don't want to deal with the lines at Costco (where I usually shop) I ordered them online with free shipping. Then I ended up placing three Amazon orders (all coming on different days). So easy .....
I better get a walk in before the day gets away from me.....

We just finished having lunch. We enjoyed a hearty salad with the rest of the Roma tomato, pickling cuke turkey cheese lentils and a sad stalk of celery and baby bell light cheese with evoo and balsamic dressing. I had a cup of veggie soup with mine. Carl had a half sandwich. It was very tasty and satisfying. Pam I forgot to mention Elin Hilderbrand. So many good authors out there. I also enjoy the 'new to me' ones when I download a freebie book via Kindle Unlimited and book bub. I also did laundry and happy it's all folded and put away. LOL to seafood loaded with cheese. I am not a fish eater unless it's deep fried Kind of defeats the purpose! I can imagine how much you are missing your DGK's and volunteer work. Yeah to the storm missing you and that your walkway is nice and clear. We have a path in between our home and our neighbors that we often use as a cut through. It finally dried out enough to walk on. I was quite pleased to see that this morning while out on our walk. Sometimes just taking a different route makes all the difference in the world. I so agree about spending more time in the 'real world'. Very well put Sue I hope you got that walk in Funny, but the other day I went through our OTC meds and took a quick inventory. Luckily there isn't anything that we need at the present time. I am happy that you got to order them online. Awesome that you were able to score face masks. We have a few that our neighbors made for the local hospitals and nursing home here in town and gives them out to anyone here in our community that needs them. Carl and I each have 2 that we use. She did accept a donation as I'm sure that the materials have to cost her something! I appreciate things like that as I have no talent whatsoever in that department. Bravo to your MSU student that just adopted a puppy. So many animals are up for adoption. If I were younger and had the room I would gladly adopt another one. But at this stage of the game, no can do. Not to mention the expense of having a fur child Our sun is back out again, but not for long. I see very dark clouds approaching....... I'm going to read a bit now and enjoy a cup of earl grey tea. later.....

Ann ~ Yay for having your laundry done! I have a dark load ready to go, but I think I'll save it for tomorrow. I grocery shopped today; and I don't want to use up all my "activities" in one day. Then I may get bored <LOL> I DID get my walk (two times around the complex). It is 50 dg and sunny with just a slight breeze. I put in my earbuds and listened to my iPod with my OLD play list - my oldie but goodie favorites. That is always such a treat for me. If I walk again later it will be with DH and he provides my entertainment. I think I will settle in with a new Kindle book until DH gets home. I think tonight will be leftovers of eye of round, mashed potatoes & gravy, corn & limas. All just have to be warmed up. LOVE IT!!!

Lol Sue I hear you on wanting to save fun activities for the next day lol.
When I house walk I will listen to music. When walking with Carl we yap away or just lost in our own thoughts.
Just got back from walk 2. Actually warmer out now than it was earlier. Go figure.
After supper and once the kitchen is cleaned we'll go for our final walk of the day.
Sweet dreams in case I don't make it back to the cafe. 💤❤

Good Morning, WW Friends ~
Happy Tuesday!! We have beautiful sunshine, but temps in the 30's with the high not expected to much more. It is also very windy! I will try for a morning walk and see how it goes??
Ann ~ I did not sleep well last night, and I am kind of blaming the weather. Every time there is a drastic change in our barometric pressure, it seems to mess with my body (mind? heart?) and that happened overnight. I did start my dark laundry this morning, so I'm on my way to getting *something* done.
We had all leftovers last night of eye of round and mashed potatoes with gravy and corn & limas. It was delicious and all was in the fridge waiting to be reheated. Tonight we are having grilled salmon on top of a tossed salad. We have some salad makings that need to be used so we don't throw them away. We have managed to *use up* everything during this time (we usually do anyway but we're more conscientious now).
I am going to dress, put the jeans in the dryer and start the dark tops, then go for a walk.
BBL. Make a great day!!

Popping in again. Still no rain in our parts, so we took full advantage and went for a 3 mile hood walk. No mail today. I guess no news is good news LOL. My day is all planned and tracked. I've done my kitchen bathroom clean up and that's it on my agenda. I am going to sit and relax for a bit before lunch. Another good author popped into my head...Terri Dulong. I've read both her series and enjoyed them. Be safe all. EARLIER POSTS...thanks, Sue
