Popping in again. Just got back from a hood walk. We wanted to 'beat the rain' and did. Actually it's still not raining out and looks like the sun wants to join us. Perhaps the rain will miss us totally...should that happen I will NOT be offended in the least.
LOL on your DH being lonely for you not talking to him in your sleep. Definitely something Carl would say LOL. I know just what you mean by having lots of fruits and fresh veggies. We are running low once again. I do have plenty of the frozen variety and canned which I will 'mix up' and use until I can get the fresh. The things we used to take for granted..........
Glad you were able to connect with your Retrouvaille couple. I still haven't gotten up on Amazon to order any nail color. I'm the great procrastinator LOL.....
I too have plenty to do.....problem is nothing that I HAVE to do is 'inviting' LOL......
Waving and will CBL

Hey all, its not not raining yet so the dogs and I got in a 2 mile walk. I’m trying to get at least 5000 steps a day as I truly believe it will start to make a good difference. I know it improves my state of mind and gives me more energy. So, I don’t have the acrylic nails Dash I have the dip powder technique down. It’s supposed to be much gentler on the nails and when I did my foil cotton and acetone removal procedure, it came off well and my nails look very good underneath. So, now I think I’m going to give nail treatment arrest even after we go back. I like keeping them short and I really don’t mind polishing them. Who knows? I might change my mind! It is usually something like an event – a wedding, graduation or birthday party that gets me started on the salon visits and then I don’t seem to stop until I’ve waited too long and they’re looking raggedy.
I am sure that your DH must have many sad moments and days after such a precious loss. It’s even worse when you don’t really know what took him so quickly and you weren’t able to have services or see his family. It’s very sad for so many people right now who have lost parents in nursing homes and weren’t able to see them for the past couple of months even before they contracted the virus. I watch Julie Andrews on the Sunday morning show with Jane Pauley. Her daughter was with her and said that her favorite words from her mother we’re always “When in doubt, stay still.” Doesn’t really apply to all of us now? These little things are just not that important.
I made a chicken lemon orzo soup from one of my older WW cookbooks this morning. It’s only two points and it was a really yummy lunch for us. For dinner I took out a pound of ground beef and I’ll make stuffed peppers. They were 10 for $10 which is pretty cheap at least around here! And all colors were on sale so DH is picking up some nice orange and yellow and red peppers for me too. I’m also going to use them for a Mexican vegetable soup that I found on the WW website. It looked easy with zucchini, peppers and several other vegetables topped with green salsa Verde and either low-fat sour cream or fat-free yogurt. Like you Sue, nothing makes me feel more like royalty than having a full larger of food. Isn’t it a great feeling?!
Ann, don’t discount that 7 mile walk just because you broke it up into thirds! All I did was the 2 miles and I can’t imagine doing another 2 miles today so I really am in awe of your walking. You’re inspiring me to keep it up and use this stay at home time more to my benefit. I figured if I have at least the next month I continue to focus on this before I have to go back to work, I might make some real progress. It took me a few weeks to figure that out but I think my head was just spinning for the first few weeks of this COVID-19 pandemic. So many fears were swirling around and and a lot of comfort foods were used to adjust to this very different time. That’s OK – I’m not gonna beat myself up because I know I’m not alone and all that.
I’m off to read more of my book and I’ve started a new one for book club - The Splendid and the Vile. It’s by Eric Larson. Ttfn

Judy all change takes time to get used to. When I first retired and moved from Worcester to Athol...let me tell you THAT wasn't just an adjustment it was CULTURE SHOCK on many levels Lol...no, won't go into detail Just sayin' then 2 years later I began my bout with BC and still dealing with the cosmetic end of it...so yes, each day brings you closer to your new routine or new normal or whatever you want to call it You are doing well setting up a 5000 step goal and build from there. You'll know when it's time to take it to the next level. Remember, you do more than just 'walk' with your lessons and working from home which I'm sure had to be a HUGE adjustment. I am in AWE of you gals that know your way around the computer and zoom and all of that. So.......take the time to pay yourself on the back I've never read anything by Eric Larson...must ask Carl if he's a relative LOL.......Will have to look him up. lately I'm having a heck of a time concentrating when I read. I'm afraid this book is going to poof away and if that happens, so be it. Oh I love the colored peppers Last time I made stuffed peppers I used red and green. Carl said it looked like 'Christmas' LOL..... Took our second walk of the day. Miss Lula only wanted to go across the street and scooted up the driveway LOL...guess she was tired out from earlier. So, Carl and I continued solo. We made it back before it started to sprinkle. If it doesn't rain we will go one more time...if it does, no biggie. I'll just relax. Time for a cup of coffee and an episode or two of Better Call Saul We are so loving that series. later!

Happy Sunday friends!
I watched an online mass with Fr. Josh Johnson, a favorite of mine, this morning. Afterwards, I got dressed and headed to the church parking lot for Fr. Brent's homily on the gospel reading for today and then recitation of the rosary.
DH had a big bowl of fruit waiting when I got back which I enjoyed with yogurt and flax/chia seeds. I puttered outside watering plants and enjoying the sunshine for a bit, then came in and arranged a family get-together with DD1 & DD2. We picked up DH's prescription curbside at Walmart and gassed up the car before getting to DD1's at 1:00pm. We were pleased and surprised to find DSIL at home for a change. We haven't laid eyes on him for more than a month, so it was good to visit. The weather is a gorgeous, sunny, breezy 80 and we sat out in the shade under a huge pecan tree in their backyard. Abby played in her kiddie pool and Jude and Anna hung around and chatted a bit, which shows just how boring life is for them these days, lol. We stayed for a couple of hours and then headed home. DD2 was going to swing by my DSIS' house for a visit and to pick up some masks. She and my DBIL have always had a special bond and she loves being able to drop by to visit as she lives very near them in BTR.
Dinner tonight will be our version of taco salad, which includes whatever fresh veggies we have on hand to chop. I only wish I had an avocado, but oh well. Salsa mixed with a little Bolthouse Cilantro Avocado dressing makes a great low SP topping for the salad.
I plan to head out on a walk shortly and listen to more of my audio book, while DH watches the news. Then I may have a margarita, made with Baja Bob's SF margarita mix. It tastes great and is only 10 calories per serving, zero carbs, zero sugar, so basically zero SP. Of course, the tequila has points.
Sue - Now that you and DH have experienced face-time, maybe you can use that to feel closer to his VBF's children. Just seeing them might help in this time of loss. We time our drives in the afternoon, when I typically make less bathroom trips, and keep them under 2 hours, so no stops anywhere.
Ann - We'll have to check out Better Call Saul. Is it on Amazon? You are SO right about major changes requiring a period of adjustment and this has been a drastic change.
Judy - I had pretty much the same reaction to the pandemic. It was exhausting trying to cope with the fear and anxiety and planning and tracking meals seemed to take too much effort and comfort foods were so...comforting. Now, I guess I'm getting used to the way things are now. I am worried that my weight is the highest it has been in 8 years and so I'm trying to get back into the groove, but not punish myself. We can't change the past, only move forward.
And with that in mind, I am off to get a walk in!

Good Evening, WW Friends ~
We had a fairly good day. I walked twice around the complex this morning, and made it back in time to watch Flash Point, then Meet The Press, then Dr. Charles Stanley's sermon. We had Light & Fit yogurt for breakfast, with fresh fruit and an almond croissant each. DH brought them home from Whole Foods yesterday when he went for his Seeduction bread. YUM!! For lunch it was LF cottage cheese and peach slices. Small lunch, but I had a delicious dinner in the crock pot.
We watched "Take Me Out To The Ball Game" and "Angels In The Outfield" this afternoon. Then we took a walk, only one time around because DH's knee is still bothering him. I have filed my nails down again and there wasn't enough 'lifting' to worry about. The polish is still on, but in true Scarlett O'Hara form I'll worry about that another day.
Supper was sirloin tip pork roast with red skin potatoes and NSA applesauce with DH's famous tossed salad with everything in it. I was able to keep my SP very low today and I see some Skinny Pop popcorn in my future tonight.
I am off to shower and put on a night shirt - then we're watching "60 Minutes" and "God Friended Me" and an episode of "Chicago PD". That will make for a fun evening for us.
Sleep well ..... talk tomorrow ......

I got in a 2 mile walk in 33.26 minutes, so yay me! We are watching 60 Minutes and will watch the finale of God Friended Me. I read somewhere that it will be the last episode. I'm doing okay on points so far, but late night snacking has been a problem lately, so I will stay on guard.
See ya tomorrow!

Yeah to your walk, Pam. You make good time I bet it was refreshing hearing mass by your favorite priest. Also happy you got a visit in. Your supper sounds good. I also have a hard time curbing the late night snacking. Some nights are better than others. Enjoy your adult beverage. Better Call Saul is on Netflix. I don't think Amazon offers it free via prime. We binge watched a few episodes and will watch a few more later on. I must check out God Friended me. Is that on Amazon Prime? Sue your supper sounds good also. In fact all your meals did Also happy you got to listen to the sermon. I've never seen Take Me Out To The Ballgame, but loved Angels In The Outfield. Enjoy your skinny pop and programs. Time for me to do a few more online things before getting jammified and reading a bit before watching more Better Call Saul Sweet dreams and see y'all in the morning!

First, so sorry about all the typos in my earlier note. I tried using the voice and not typing and saw one word read arrest and not the rest or whatever I was trying to say.
Ann, I love Better Call Saul, too. He’s such a character! Did you watch all of Breaking Bad? Loved that too where we were introduced to Saul! We’ll watch more of the Wire tonight. I just finished my ukulele singalong. We have folks from Florida and California in our Zoom session. Julie, our instructor or is so sweet and nice and very patient. I have a tough time singing with her, but her ukulele expertise and strumming lessons are great so I focus on that. Ann, I loved your culture shock description moving to the country. 😂I suspect that will be me if we ever move to the Cape. It’ll be so different.
Sue, thanks for mentioning the incentive checks that were sent out. We were hoping DD would get one but she hadn’t. After your note, she checked the IRS site and found hers was mailed yesterday. Thank God. A little relief that will help. She skhould hear on the Paycheck Protection plan very soon. Fingers crossed. She as approved by the bank but has to get in the queue with the SBA.
Im tired tonight so plan to turn in early. Daisy slept through the night and I expect she will again.
Pam, how fun to social distance and see both your DDs and your SIL. I am so envious hearing about your grandkids in the pool as it was raw and rainy here today and very chilly now. Some areas further north may even get SNOW! Also, what is the name of that margarita mix? 1 pt sounds great. Sometimes I have Diet Coke with the Malibu Rum which is very low alcohol content and tasty. Tonight I had a small glass of Whitehaven Sauvignon Blanc. I love that brand. DH likes the Pinot Noir.
DH and I were feeling very grateful to both be working in “safe” jobs and being paid, etc. I’m not sure how long the university can sustain it, but they have a very high value on health and family. I’m so blessed that way. They have even offered to help staff members who may be the sole support right now and have established an emergency fund for them as they have for students. We have already given $300,000 to students in need during COVID. We’ve raised money from donors.
Ttfn..
