Sue- good to hear from you. Glad you checked in.
Going to my 50th Jr. College reunion this weekend. It is in the Mtns. Should be beautiful. The schol is now 4 yr. Has changed so much and gotten so much larger.
No one has seen me with grey hair!

Hi! Have been relaxing and reading novels. And eating great food. Also still going to the gym every afternoon. We have 4-5 days at sea coming up before our next stop in Jordan

Hi all,
Just relaxing. I like to spend Saturday mornings with a couple of cups of coffee and checking Facebook, etc. I call it my deaf coffee time because I don't put my CIs on until later. Will do the bike soon.
I think things are finally getting going for stuff to do at church and interest groups downtown. There is a focus group meeting at the brewery next Friday to discuss ideas. We also have a new director of outreach at church who I think will be really good. So, I think there's an end in sight for this isolation I've been experiencing. This town is so family oriented, so being single and young kind of has a stigma to it. Then add lack of transportation on top of that.
Sue, I'm jealous. Looking forward to hearing how the rest of your trip goes.

Happy Monday everyone! Just back from my sculp class and dance class. Feeling so good after exercise! Yesterday I did no exercise---and was tired all day---from party clean up but also just not good to have a no exercise day I think.
Last night I watched the HBO special of The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks---Oprah did a really good job in the lead part. I read the book several years ago and they just made this movie.
One hearing aid quite so have an appt. to get it cleaned this afternoon, after manicure appt. Also made an appt. to meet with Jordan's counselor about his desire to go to community college for last two years of high school---would graduate with some college credits but his brother and I want to find out if the counselor thinks it is a good move for very bright kids---not sure they provide the college entrance and scholarship assistance that the high school does, etc. We meet with her on Friday afternoon.
Wish I had that body sculpt class every other day! This week we do have one on Saturday cause she is subbing for someone---and is going to make it sort of like sculpt mixed with some kick boxing moves---I will go to that for sure--early tho for a Saturday! 8:15!

Back from the reunion. Had a great time! We were so busy all weekend. Wonderful seeing so many that I have not seen for 50 years. Our class had the largest # of people return for a reunion than has ever done so. We had 100 out of a class of 150! \ Joan I envy you that you are exercising. I want to but haven't since my H&H has been so low. Hopefully I can start again soon. I had the second iron infusion today and return to the hematologist on the 9th for followup. Did well with the infusion today and thankgoodness, this time, they only had to stick me twice instead of 3 times like before.
We have had 2 days of much needed rain here. This afternoon the sun came out though.

JoAnne--guess I missed it that you had a reunion---wow, 3/4 turnout for your class is great! I am doing great on exercise but I'm snacking away the chance for loss--ugh, why do I always slip back? Gotta get back to veggie and fruit snacks only---blood test not that far away--June 3! I really do feel strong tho---love that my core is so different---all the weights with my teacher who constantly harps on core engagement. Makes a use difference. I think I'd be taller had I been doing these classes with her the past ten years! Really!
Yesterday my silver mulch came in the mail---silver mulch is just silver coated plastic---you put it over the soil around the tomatoes---supposed to increase the sun intensity for climates with short days like Vegas---however, the wind has started up again and at this rate my little tomatoes hanging on for dear life out there! Never, since 1973 when I moved here have I seen this much wind---the jet stream is just stuck and won't move on! So tired of it---and walking is not an option in this pollen infested air that's blowing up your nose, in your eyes and swirling around!
Yoga this morning---I couldn't get to sleep last night--up till 1 am--so DH let me sleep in---till about 7:40---so just ate--not good for my yoga class to eat so recently!
I have my itunes music blaring on my Bose speakers---with DH gone I can groove out a bit--such a good reset for me to have music on!
Glad the iron infusion wasn't as bad---even two bad sticks sucks tho!
Take Jordan back to dentist to get his bracket reglued---was hoping not to have a dental visit this week---it's a lot of driving! Oh well.
hearing aid tech gave me a toolkit to allow me to do the change of the little part that gets clogged up at times---so glad, now I won't have to go get them cleaned so often!

Hi all,
I am so tired. We're nearing the end of the semester. The 24/7 library hours start next week for two weeks. I'm working a 4pm-midnight shift and a Saturday shift.
I had an appointment yesterday about my leg length discrepency. My right side is smaller than my left. There's about an inch difference in my leg length, which has caused more and more problems with my hip. So I have to go get my shoes fitted a certain way. I better not have to give up the few cute pairs of shoes I have left. My feet are already so wide and tiny.
I'm hoping maybe alleviating the chronic hip pain will help my blood pressure too.
JoJo, glad you're feeling better. I'm knitting a lace summer scarf. It's a pretty pattern. To Joan, have you read any Neil Gaiman books? I'm reading The Ocean at the end of the Lane. It's kind of hard to get into.

No, Holly, have not read him. Sorry about your leg length and hip pain. I wore built up shoe on one side for a couple years in high school---ugh---because of scoliosis and my back was suffering constantly---know what you mean about shoes---I am limited by needing width also---no heels, but too low also is bad-- if I felt I could live in my Brooks walking shoes all day every day I'd be fine---not so good with better clothes!

We joined Hulu for the one free month and I watched the first episode of The Handmaid's Tale---not sure I can handle it---even having read the book twice, seeing the book on the screen is stressful for me---more so than the book even though the scenes are very booklike.
Our wind continues--supposed to get a break from it on Saturday--ugh. Holly, I saw pictures of terrible flooding in NC--are you getting lots of rain where you are?
DH skipped his yoga this morning--hate when he does that--I don't think he will keep going without our teacher--the new gal is not nearly as skilled at teaching and I worry that he will just give it up--tried to talk him into going with me to my Wed. Class at the other gym and then do the weights class after but he just won't try something new. He has always been one to resist new so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
DD's long distance boyfriend (sounds weird for a nearly 50 year old!) is in town and wants to treat us to lunch out today which is nice---hoping it's not too windy to sit outside by then as DH cannot hear well inside this particular restaurant.
I bought wild caught shrimp last night and peeled and cooked and chilled it for shrimp cocktail---made an Asian slaw to go with it and a baked potato for DH---tasted so yummy---need to do that more often. Shrimp cocktail that is really good is a favorite dinner item for me!

Seems we have lost everyone. Crazy windy again in Vegas and chilly--only in the 60s today. Weird weather.

Hi all,
Joan, the weather's been all over the place here.
It's been a busy week. Trying to finish up with grading so that my class can complete their final project. The last week of classes is next week.
Pretty low key weekend. Tonight I'm going to this interest meeting about getting more young adults involved in community activities.

Had to do another run to the dentist with Jordan--another bracket fell off--they just clipped the wire so the last tooth won't get a bracket until May 17 when we are scheduled to get braces on the bottom. I had hoped for an afternoon at home--oh well.
BF's coming over tonight for a bit---will order and bring food in and then play some cards.
DH working all day on making a pigeon block to put under the bird feeder where the finches feed---hope he didn't go too big---it looks heavy to me---will have to move it each time he mows.
Holly what days do you work all night?

Hi everyone, feeling so good - doing yard work. So good to get out and expend a little energy.
started some of the restrictions for the colonoscopy and endoscope. Tomorrow continuation of that and then Mon. only clear liquids.
A little sprinkling here this afternoon but generally warm and cloudy today.
Joan - it is like you have another child! But keeping you young, I'm sure!
