I'm pretty sure I posted at least once in April, but it doesn't seem to have shown up . I remember typing that Chinese food sure sounds good! So, to catch up: Thursday, 4/1, my back was still bothering me, so I didn't walk. I took my sister to a bowling alley lunch counter for lunch, and it was nice to eat indoors. She ate an entire "sloppy joe," so that was great! She has lost a lot of weight, and she vacillates between, "I'm so hungry! When are we going to eat?" and "Did we already have lunch?" I have read that many Alzheimer's patients either gain or lose a lot of weight because they can't remember if they've eaten. Friday, 4/2, I went to water aerobics (3), and I stretched. Saturday, 4/3, I made the mistake of walking to the post office (2 miles), but my back didn't appreciate it! Sunday, 4/4, I stretched. Today, 4/5, I went to water aerobics (3), and I stretched. 247.5/250 miles 62/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141;2019:192; 2020:182 2021: Jan.15; February:13; March 16; April: 3/30

Good Evening Challengers!
Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, ate above my red zone of pts with seconds of evening snack - chips, cookies, candy, ugh. But at least I stopped and did JGTB. As usual, my meals were good and healthy, but the evening snack is my downfall.
Yesterday we walked 3.5 mi for takeout breakfast and then .7 with DD DSIL and DGDs to get takeout dinner, total of 4.2 mi for the day.
My âKISSâ HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) - Avoid salted snacks: N - JGTB: đ
2 microhabits: - â50 pushawaysâ: đ - âNo seconds with snackâ: N
It was great to have DD1, DSIL and DGDs here. They really enjoyed the bigger and shadier patio and yard.
KELLY - We started sleeping in the new home 3/24 and the furniture was moved on 3/26. Weâre still in boxes and doing cleaning at the new place as we can since we didnât have time to clean before we moved. GFY 8 mi on the weekend. Itâs great you and DH could do the challenging hike and still walk the next day. Were those your hiking boots you were wearing in the photo? Itâs sad to see people decline like your ex MIL is doing. I canât stop wanting to make it stop. Itâs heart heavy.
CAROL - glad you and your sis could enjoy a meal out. Yes my uncle was like that - one Thanksgiving, after dinner, I served the dessert, and he looked at it and said âItâs not much of a meal.â Heâd already forgotten heâd eaten. đ Glad you babied your back a bit and are doing what works - water aerobics and stretching. Thatâs strange that walking hurts it - I remember when I used my low back pain as an excuse for not exercising - my Dr said âThat shouldnât stop you from walking.â But when I had the sacrum fractures I definitely couldnât walk.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.

Good Morning!!
Good Morning!!
I added 3 miles yesterday. 1 mile was outside during my lunch. Weight up a little most likely from the ham I ate and some splurges over the weekend.
Carol: Great job on your exercise and stretching. You are almost to 250 miles.
Cait: Glad you are getting settled in your new place. No those are definitely not hiking boots. I actually just wore a pair of sneakers. I was glad I wore a good supportive pair though. I know if I get achy or sore in my low back walking definitely makes it feel better. Although it depends on the back pain I've seen people with back pain that could barely get up much less walk.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Hereâs the WW Weekly technique article. âHow to keep doing what you want - and quit the things you donât.â www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/article/modify-maintain-habitsMonitor your habits - yes, all of them! This month is all about setting (and sticking to) healthy habits. The first step? Think of a pattern you'd like to maintain, like taking a daily walk after lunch. How will you support this habit so you continue to do it? You could block your calendar for an hour to avoid meetings, for example. Now, let's talk about how you can modify a habit you want to break up with, like avoiding late-night snacking while watching TV in your living room. You still want to relax and unwind after a long day, but what could you change? Perhaps you could try reading a great book in bed to create more space between you and the kitchen. By taking note of what worksâand making adjustments to what doesn'tâyou'll set yourself up with long-term habits that support your wellness journey well into the future. And the recipe cards:

Good Morning Challengers!
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed my đ zone of pts, Healthy Eating Zone đ”. I just had to get through that danger zone period in the evening before bedtime. Praying and meditating, breathing, waiting for the urge to pass, and it does, if I let it, if I donât feed it. đ
Yesterday we walked 2 mi.

WEDNESDAY! It's been a couple of cool, drizzly days here, but we need the moisture so we can't really complain (still doesn't stop us)! CAIT and KELLY -- sounds like you're both doing great! A big, shady patio sounds nice, Cait! Looks like you're back with your good habits! Kelly, good job walking and tracking, as usual. It's interesting to me that walking does hurt my back, not help it. It may be because my core muscles aren't very strong, and I probably don't have great walking posture. I usually have to stop and lean over to stretch my back a couple of times during a walk. Sometimes, though, I'd be stopping every block! Water aerobics doesn't have that effect, though, so that's great. We're leaving Friday for our first road trip together since last August. We'll go to Colorado to visit Fred's family and then spend part of a day in the western part of Nebraska. We don't get out there much, and it's a really different terrain, so I'm looking forward to it. That's to say, I may not be checking in very often for the next week or so. Yesterday I walked around a neighboring country club golf course (2 mi), and today I went to WA (3 mi), and I stretched. That should get me to goal (YEA!), so I may give myself permission to take it a little easy when I need to. 252.5/250 miles 63/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141;2019:192; 2020:182 2021: Jan.15; February:13; March 16; April: 4/30

Good Morning!!
Good OP day yesterday Added 3 more miles. Tracked on the app. Today is my Friday.
Carol: Good job your walking and stretching. I think there all different types of back pain. Some types walking relieves it because your upright and relieves pressure on the spine. Posture has a lot to do with it too. I find those that have an actual injury often it's more painful.
Cait: Good job on your walk. Just a bump in your journey. Hoping you had a good OP day on Wednesday.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good morning. Back in town and ready to focus. Walking hurts my lower back also. I think it's because of building the core muscles for me so it's a good thing, just not to over do it. Thinking back I remember new exercises hurting my legs so bad I couldn't walk for days.
Cait: you're such an inspiration with the consistency. Great for you with the JGTB instead of more cookies and snacks. Whew... back on the green track !
Tickyboo: Your photo is so impressive. Good for you with the walking and tracking
Amy: Glad you're getting back to the treadmill.
Carol: Sorry about your back. I am assuming this is a long term thing and what the PT is for? (((you and your SIL)))
Holidays are fun and enjoyable which is why it's important to be so focused during the regular routine part of life.

Good Morning Challengers!
Yesterday I did 2/6 of my main HHs, ate above my red zone of pts. I stayed up after 11 but got to bed by 11:30, and my food choices were better than other days.
Yesterday we walked 2 mi in am. I had an appt with oral surgeon about wisdom tooth and did errands - 8 stops! This afternoon Iâm having the tooth pulled. The warnings always get me a bit tense.

KELLY - Did you have problems with Tapatalk today? I posted, and then I changed my password because the app prompted me to change it, and now I keep getting an error message and canât access the thread. Had to access it through web browser.
Be well and take care, for ourselves, and for each other.
