Heck Mindy scares me more than the clown does! After her coming in and changing everything from the ground up I am terrified what is next on her hit list 🤣😂 Yes, 2022 will be very interesting. I really liked the WW CEO who was around when Jennifer Hudson was the thing. Gosh, his name really escapes me now, but he did write a WW book, he himself was on the plan, and seemed to really care and get involved with the program. If anyone remembers his name, please chime in! David Kirchhoff. I have his book which I enjoyed reading. He has had a variety of different jobs since then. Appears he works for a consultant doing turn around stuff for companies now.

The new upcoming plan sound's interesting.
Honestly, I've been underwhelmed with the current WW plans. I did Points Plus years ago and had great success and have kept most of it off, but need to lose again. I'm currently on Green and I'm not losing much.
I switched to Blue then Purple to see if it made a difference and lost nothing on either, so went back to Green which is basically Smart Points and I do not like it tbh. Too many weekly points imo (most of which I don't even use) and counting Peas and other Legumes as 4 points, and a Banana at 0 points is rather silly imo. Peas have vital fiber @ 7 grams and various beneficial nutrients such as Protein and Potassium, while a Banana only has 3 grams of fiber some Potassium with a higher sugar content and no Protein. Just doesn't add up to me. Maybe the new plan will give me better results. I will try it when available.

He was wonderful, such an easy going, funny and approachable guy. He spoke highly of the Volumetrics principle, which seemed to be the essence of the Core plan which was introduced under his watch. I'll have to read his book, now.

With all of us reminiscing about the way things were with Weight Watchers, I think what is truly missing is that Mindy focuses so much on the business model, the company has lost its heart. It was there with David Kirchhoff. As far as I can tell, I guess Mindy isn’t going anywhere. If the new plan is a hit, she’ll be superglued into her CEO chair. Sigh.

Sharlene: Someone on the boards either listened in to a WW earnings call or read the transcript and said that Mindy said there will be changes or a new program coming this fall. Other than that we haven't picked up any gossip. They have multiple plans now and I do Green which is a tweaked Smart Points. I'm doing okay with it even though I strongly didn't like SP when it came out. Now that I'm settled into a plan after counting calories for awhile because I couldn't handle Free Style I'm nervous about the changes. After Points Plus what WW thought was a good plan and what I thought was a good plan differed greatly. I'm older (74) and I feel they have left the older members behind. I agree with you - the past programs have left out Lifetime and older members!!!!

I also did a survey awhile back and this was the description:
"Introducing WW's most cutting edge, comprehensive and personalized weight loss program ever.
Cutting edge because it takes the entire nutrition label into account. Calories, protein, fiber, saturated fat, unsaturated (healthy) fats and added sugars are all included in this new points formula. No other system seamlessly reduces all this complexity into one simple number.
Comprehensive because it isn't just a food system. It's an entire ecosystem that takes the whole you into account - incorporating your activity levels and water and vegetable intake, allowing you to grow your points budget and earn points for all the healthy thins you do. It's one complete system that takes in all into account.
Personalized because, for the first time ever, with WW's guidance you determine your own individual plan, based on the foods you like and eat most often. These foods have zero points, and your plan is unique to you. With thousands of possible combinations, virtually no two plans are alike!"
I'm excited for a new plan... I like the speculation, excitement, and buildup. I struggle with how much sugar is penalized on SmartPoints... but I have a feeling that isn't going to change with a new points calculation (but hopefully I am wrong). I'm curious how this "individualized" plan is going to work. I feel like it might be confusing for a lot of people and people who struggle with fear of missing out or wanting to do things "the right way" might struggle with not having one plan.

idrathereatnachos, I've posted this before, I'm concerned with them making the foods I eat most often zero points. That to me sounds like Freestyle and that plan drove me to calorie counting instead of tracking on the app. I need some type of number associated with most of my food and drink, although I have adjusted to zero point fruits and non-starchy veggies. Whatever the new plan is for me I'll figure out some way to adapt and if not I have calorie counting.

Whatever the new plan is for me I'll figure out some way to adapt and if not I have calorie counting. I too am concerned. Fruit and nonstarchy veg are the only freebies I can have and still lose weight. I am hoping with the new points system, someone can do a hack (kitty, can you hear me)?, and give us an easy way of figuring points. With pointsplus, I tweaked it to make it my own plan. Knowing that one point is 40 cals, I work out that calculation to figure my daily points. Like one cup of soy milk that I like is 100 cals, so I know automatically that’s 3 points ( I round up or down to the nearest whole number). This way I don’t even have to look up foods on an app. I can read the nutrition label and figure points in my head ( or adding up on my fingers ). Back in the days of official WW message boards, someone named Freebee did all the calculations for us on an easier approach to figure points. I cut and pasted that into Word, and never forgot it. I agree with you. If the new plan doesn’t suit our needs, we’ll just go back to what works. I am thrilled that I am slowly and steadily losing weight back on Pointsplus. I miss meetings so much, and am hopeful the new plan is nowhere similar to Freestyle.

idrathereatnachos, That is extremely interesting. The last earnings call had said the new calculation would include all the macros which they have done before (although they acted like it was new). I wonder how new the new calculation will really be. Including saturated fat and unsaturated fat is basically all fat (nowadays very little is trans fat). This really is basically saying that the plan will penalize saturated fat. That is, honestly, fine in my opinion to a point. But when points get too disconnected from calories that can mess with weight loss. The added sugar part is interesting. I felt when they started SmartPoints they intended to added sugars later as was then planned but that got delayed. Now it is supposedly on all food labels. But a lot of food labels still don't have it (I guess they are using up old labels or something). The bigger issue to me is restaurant foods in that they rarely list added sugar. Still I do think it is better to just consider added sugar. That said, currently if I calculate point with total sugar and then do it with added sugar most of the time it makes no difference or only a points difference. So not sure this makes much difference. The bigger issue is how much of will they penalize added sugar. Again, the issue is how disconnected will points be from calories? Under SmartPoints a 125 calorie food could be anywhere from 0 to 6 points. That is a big difference. For health, I applaud trying to discourage eating less healthful food. But, for weight loss if I can be over my points but have eaten under 1000 calories for the day or I can eat 1500 calories (which I will gain on) but still have points left over, then that is a problem. Still, I am interested to see the new plan. bbbearsmom, You could, well, lie to them. That is tell them the foods you eat most often are foods that you know you don't struggle with and aren't foods you often eat. They will make them 0 points but it will rarely affected you. You might need to adjust your total daily points available to you since you wouldn't be eating much 0 point foods but you could figure out what point level works best for you. I have in the past set my daily points level at a level where I know I will lose weight but is the level of points that my normal diet will generate (I do track calories so I have that info available). @pointsplusgal, The more disconnected points are from calories the harder it gets to come up with a shortcut. But I agree that having something where you can get an idea just be looking at the label is very helpful.

Kitty, Yes, this will be me figuring out what works for me. Really at maintenance I'm in charge of the points and need to decide based on what the scale does. Will be interesting to see the new plan and what bells and whistles they have added.

Someone posted on another board that the new plan is coming November 11th. It was also mentioned that the rumor was it would have little or no tracking which I am upset about because I need tracking. Judy, even though at this point I'm not really following any plan, I do my own tracking. I'm not counting points, but I find that my journaling what I'm eating it does keep me more accountable. I have been ditter dattering with Points plus, Core, corinne Crabtree, calorie counting...)( and all in the same week, lol) for i don't know how long.... Can't seem to find what fits all the moment, even though I am basically at goal weight. Hoping for some excitement with the new changes.
