Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 24 pts. We walked 2 mi after breakfast in the gated retirement community in Indio. Jan HH Challenge: - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals N My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Sis, SIL and I went to the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway - a major tourist attraction. We went from 49 ft above sea level to 8,500+ ft above sea level where you can see for miles. It was crowded and there was a lot of waiting - for the bus from the parking lot, a long line to purchase tram tix, then 2+ hours for the tram, and a line to take the tram back down. But the views were great from the top at Mt San Jacinto State Park Wikderness Area. I should have taken food with me, but I made do. Afterwards we all went out to dinner. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Afternoon.
I added 3.08 miles on Friday with a 2 mile WATP and 1.08 walk at lunch since temps got into the 60's. Yesterday I walked 2.2 miles.
The work dinner was nice but disappointed none of the other clinical staff decided to come. It was just the Practice manager, one of the front office staff and her husband, 2 of the CRNPs and their husbands, and the Dr and his wife. Hubby didn't come. The spouses had to pay for their own meals. He wanted me to enjoy some time out as says not worrying about taking care of him.
The staff that did not come better not complain they did not get nothing for Christmas as we voted and it was unanimous to go out instead of having food brought in to the office. Several backed out at the last minute. Good thing we were ordering from menu not having some special prepared for us all.
The Celebration of Life was beautiful and the luncheon after was awesome. The Birthday party was fun too.
The 21 day Fast ended yesterday. Overall I did well. Friday and Saturday I did have dessert which was one of the things I had chosen to fast on. I was impressed that I made it to day 20 without partaking since I was surrounded by goodies at work and at other functions.
Cait: Awesome job on your good days. Pictures are beautiful. Enjoy time with family. It is so important.
Michelle: Good job on your and Clair's activity. I am sure she will be happy to be back to work.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

Cait, Thanks for posting the pics! That is quite and elevation change.Great job with your HHs.
Kelly, Congrats on your successful 21 day Fast.
Saturday - 13,292 Steps, I forgot about Yoga = 75%. Clair, 3 PT walks, 4 PT exercises X 2 = 100%. Also started training her on PT #5. It will take a while to get it the way it is supposed to be done. I spent some steps (time) today rearranging furniture etc so that Clair's PT items were easy to use and not in the way. It's better to keep as much in the house as possible so that we don't run into poor weather challenges. One of her exercises is going in a clockwise manner in a small circle so that she builds up that leg's muscles. So I go round a tree and she walks on the bricks while I sing "Ring Around the Rosies" over and over until she has completed six revolutions. I hadn't thought of that childhood song in at least 65 years. LOL.
Sunday - Spectacularly!!! beautiful warm day here. My wild bees are out in full force and hungry as all get out. They drank 3 quarts of sugar water made with 2 cups each. I suppose they would be considered my adopted bee family since I don't know where they live. They showed up hungry in late fall and come whenever possible. Also they discovered the hen scratch I feed the quail and are getting the corn sugar? off the corn bits. Time to take Clair for her 3rd walk of the day.

Good Morning!!
I had a nice but very busy weekend. I added a 4 mile WATP.
Friday and Sunday I used weekly points with dinner out, luncheon, and Birthday party.
Michelle: You and Clair are certainly consistent. Of course I had to sing Ring around the Rosie. Interesting about your bees coming for the sugar and corn bits.
Waving to all!! Skinny vibes!!

Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, ate in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 18 pts. We walked 2 mi before breakfast. Jan HH Challenge: - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals 💚 My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: 💚 - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 Sis, SIL and I went out for groceries. Then football was on all day. We had a big dinner - SIL made some appetizers in the afternoon , and for dinner meatloaf, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls. Sis made a meatloaf topping and gravy. I made salad, spicy veg chili, butternut squash, and steamed snow peas. Something for everyone. It was Sis’s last day here. Our bro took Sis to the airport early this am. We’ll be on the road in a while. Saturday am I attended my weekly WW virtual workshop - “How to move more — and actually enjoy it.” “Feeling meh about your current activity routine or looking to start a new one? The key is to first consider how you want to feel and go from there.”Here’s the technique: Here’s the “3 Fast Facts” And the article: www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/how-move-more-and-actually-enjoy-it-012024KELLY - GFY with the 4 mi weekend, getting it done despite the busyness. Re weekly pts - I’ve been doing better at budgeting to use them for something special instead of blowing them on junk food one or two nights, going into deficit and trying to reduce the deficit. The binges haven’t been on consecutive days, and haven’t gone on as long as in the past. Progress. This past week I ended up with a +35 pt balance in my weeklies, after wild variations thru the holidays and Sis visit: 10/29/23 +19 11/5/23 -53 11/12/23 -32 11/19/23 0 11/26/23 +20 12/3/23 -2 12/10/23 +13 12/17/23 +5 12/24/23 +15 12/31/23 -108 1/7/24 -240 1/14/24 +45 1/21/24 -98 1/28/24 +35 Before the holiday period began with Halloween my weeklies were more stable. Cait, What came to mind is: I want to feel DONE! Functional fitness is not on the list so hours spent on home chores may not count as exercise. Personally I love! functional fitness and feelings associated might be pleased, proud (as in taking pride in our homes), triumphant. I thought this information was extremely helpful--thanks for posting it.
Kelly, Skinny Vibes back at ya Sunday and Monday 13,947 & 15,314 & Yoga X 2 = 100% For Clair: Three walks X 2, 5 PTs all completed x 2 times daily = 100% The contractor came to put in our new walking paths today. Very exciting!!! Buttercup wants me to play ball. Gotta run..... Hopefully tomorrow I can keep the steps to around 10K. Lots of mandatory additional activity going on lately.

Good Morning!!
I added a 2 mile WATP yesterday.
Crazy and busy day at work due to a call-off. A call-off makes bad since we are still down the one nurse that is on medical leave and each day one of us has off since we work 10-12 hour days.
Cait: Good job on your HHs and miles. Sounds like a very nice time with family. Michelle: Your walking paths sound very nice. Hope Buttercup had fun playing ball.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

TUESDAY!
Sounds like things are going well for everyone.
CAIT-- thanks for the photos. The sun came out here, so it "feels" like 74 even though there is still sun on the ground!
KELLY -- glad to hear things are settling down in your life. Good job keeping up with walking!
MICHELLE -- nice that Clair (and you) are able to get on with your therapy lives!
I need to catch up a little.
Last Thursday I went to water class & stretched, I swam laps & stretched yesterday, and I went to water class today and stretched. Our long-ish weekend roadtrip to Crystal Bridges was fun, but I can only count 1 mile for walking.
112/250 miles 48/75 stretching Stretching: 2018:141; 2019:192; 2020:182; 2021:190; 2022:195; 2023:191 Jan: 18/31

Good Evening Challengers Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, ate above my 🛑 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 66 pts. No walk but I did 22 mins of PT exercises before dinner 🥳. Jan HH Challenge: - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals 💚 My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: N - No eating out of a container: N - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 I did fine yesterday until DH’s “snack time,” and the “food noise” started up. Post-event letdown effect. I did “snack on inspo” and did some prayer and meditation, but then decided to have just two simple things, unsalted popcorn and a spoonful of beans, but after that I wanted dried fruit, trail mix, pretzels. I weighed the trail mix in servings, and finished off the bag. I counted the pretzels. At least I did JGTB. It’s all way better than in the past. Today I attended an interesting 1 hour Zoom presentation by Robert H. Lustig, MD, neuro-endocrinologist, on what we eat, and metabolism, and its effects on everything in life - from mood to aging, health, disease. “The Lure & Lies of Processed Food, Nutrition, & Modern Medicine: Author Talk with Dr. Robert Lustig.” His new book is “Metabolical.” The zoom is only an hour, much shorter and easier to understand than the Huberman Lab podcast interview with Dr Lustig which I’m still listening to, little by little. Here’s the link to it: youtu.be/aC-h99odRaUThe talk is through a Consortium of public libraries. They have a series of interviews with authors. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Afternoon Challengers
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my đź’š zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 20 pts. DH had an early dental appt so I walked by myself 2.2 mi.
Jan HH Challenge: - Evening: Snack on Inspo; Read quotes, whys and goals đź’š
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Yesterday I got some work done, getting back to routines.
This am my monthly weight was 147.0, up 2.2 lbs since the end of Dec. It’s a consequence of multiple night time snack binges this past month. I was glad it wasn’t higher. It’s the first time since 9/2022 that my weight has been above 145, so it’s a major wake up call.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Tuesday & Wednesday: 12,094 & 15,112 & Yoga X 2 = 100% For Clair: Three PT walks X 2, 5 PTs all completed x 2 times daily = 100% Wednesday was over the top. Before the advent of these PT walks I would run the dogs using my four wheeler but now I have to get the PT walks done and also do my ranch hand type chores so the steps get challenging when this occurs. Luckily not much outside needs to be done this time of year. However I am grateful that I have my physical health.
Waving to all challengers
