We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 50 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished Jun 1, 2023. You can find us on wwmessageboard.freeforums.net at wwmessageboard.freeforums.net/board/12/challenges
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date and will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members may join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started Nov 1, 2023, is "250 Miles by April 1, 2024."

MONDAY, MONDAY!
CAIT -- the party looks like a lot of fun! Good for DH to make a bike rack, and good for you with the weigh-in! Thanks for the WW info, too.
KELLY -- Happy Anniversary!
Yesterday I did a band strength workout, counting 1.5 miles, and I just finished a YouTube Zumba Gold workout, counting another 1.5 miles. The water in the pool will be cold all week, but I'm planning to go to water class on Thursday and swim laps on Friday. We'll see.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Happy New Year Dimers!
May this new year bring you Peace, Joy, and Health! ♥️🙏
Just finished watching the Rose Parade, my new year tradition. 😍 🌹
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 0 snack, used 28 pts. We walked 3.6 mi to our Sunday breakfast, and later I walked .5 mi to pick up lunch takeout for DH, so 4.1 mi for the day.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: 💚 - No “seconds” with snack: 💚 - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Yesterday it was drizzling while we walked and we sat indoors at our breakfast place. It came down pretty hard while we were there but lightened up and stopped on our way back. And today is gorgeous!
We had our friends over for NYE dinner, which has become a tradition for us. I went out after breakfast to get some last minute items for dinner.
I ended the week with 15.1 miles, the month with 75.0 miles, and the year with 801.5 miles. I did PT 3/7 days, total 37 mins last week 🥳
CAROL - Yay, you, and thank you, starting the new month, and new year for us! I saw you were back and posted the other day. I haven’t caught up on posts yet, but I will!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning!! Happy New Year!!
Thanks for the Anniversary wishes.
I added 9.2 miles Thurs- Mon.
It was nice long weekend. I did manage to clean off my home office desk. Got a lot of reading in.
New Year's Eve was very laid back. Went to Church then we went out to eat for our Anniversary after to beat the crowd. We were in bed before midnight. I did wake up at midnight due to sounds of fireworks.
Yesterday was quiet we did have our traditional Pork and Sauerkraut that is the staple for New Year's Day in this area.
End of Year stats were lower for the actual exercise miles than last year.
Cait: Looks like you had a nice time with family. Good job on your WI and stats for the week and year.
Carol: Welcome back, Thanks for getting us started for the New month. Sounds like a nice time with family.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good Morning Challengers!
Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, ate above my 🛑 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 97 pts. We walked 2.2 mi after breakfast.
My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: N - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: N - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚
Yesterday we watched the Rose Parade, walked, and then watched two football games. Michigan and Washington, who DH was rooting for won, but both were very close games. A day of TV watching in post-event mode, with lots of leftover guest food, is not good for my HHs 😕. I had an afternoon snack that turned into a binge - but at least I measured and tracked, and that helped me stop. I had a 0 pts dinner with beans, vegs, fruit, a small portion of nuts and seeds.
Watching the Rose Parade is something I’ve done since childhood. When my girls were little we took them once. I went once in college, in 1967, and then to the Rose Bowl football game. I was at USC and our team was playing. USC lost but it was a close game. I only vaguely remember this - had to look it up! 😜 My DH remembers watching the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl game from NJ and being amazed at the SoCal weather, but thinking “That’s no kind of Christmas.” Now he’s here and he’s a diehard for this weather.
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

TUESDAY!
I guess the holidays are over; Fred started putting away decorations today, and so I did, too.
KELLY -- Sounds like you had a nice weekend, with 9+ miles, anniversary, and early bedtime. We "stayed up" until 11:00 to watch the ball drop, and then we called it a night. In the past, we would bundle up and walk the six blocks to the neighborhood French bistro and celebrate there, but it folded right after COVID, so now we just stay home.
CAIT -- Good job on your HHs New Year's Eve! We watched the football games, too, and were routing for Michigan and Washington, too. I about choked when the ref said, "Put one more second on the clock" at the end of the Washington/Texas game! Texas pulled that stunt against Nebraska years ago and ended up winning! Grrrrr!
I'm still waiting for the pool to warm up a little after the water change, so today I walked one mile, did a band workout, and stretched.

Yesterday DH raked leaves and I got work done. It felt good to get back to routine and regular meals. It’s raining this am but supposed to stop for us to walk 😃.

Good Morning!!
I added 4.5 miles Tues- Wednesday. WATP and outside walking. It was a cold walk. We are expecting a winter snow storm from Saturday- Sunday. Ive heard all different amounts. I'll just wait and see.
I forgot to mention went to see my BIL over the weekend to deliver some cookies and chex mix. We watched the Penn State Peach Bowl game. What a disappointment.
One of my previous co-workers daughter marched with West Chester University in the Rose Bowl Parade.
Sunday will start my 21 day fast that we do every year at Church. I'll be doing a modified Daniel Fast as I will have some dairy, keeping a morning coffee, and a few days with fish or chicken.
Cait: Good job on your miles and PT sessions. It does feel good to get back to a regular routine.
Carol: Good job on you mile, stretching and band workout. I always leave my decorations up until the 6th. Snowmen stay out until March usually.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!

CAROL - I finally caught up on posts and read yours from the trip. Wow, very social! I bet you’ve had your fill of “social” for a while! Your choosy limits of the “treat” foods sounds like a great plan. Glad Fred’s eyes are getting better. GFY getting right back to the lap swim, your water workouts, stretching and resistance bands, walking and even doing Zumba. You and Fred are very prompt with your Christmas decor removal. I’m planning to do some this weekend, but time keeps slipping away.
KELLY - I forgot about your NYE anniversary - belated good wishes to you and Leroy! GJ with the 9.2 mi over new years long weekend and 4.5 mi Tues - Wed & 2 mi WATP Thurs. Glad you can move the Chex Mix out of the house. That’s cool about your co-worker’s daughter with West Chester Band in the Rose Parade - I noticed that band. The new year 21 day fast will probably feel good after the Christmas treats.

SATURDAY!
Imagine my surprise when I discovered the club didn't drain the pool after all. No one was happy about that; most people had stayed away for several days. I went to water class on Thursday but decided not to swim laps Friday (not sure I want to put my face in questionable water), so I've been a lazy bones since then. I'll go to water class tomorrow and figure out about laps then. Frustrating!
KELLY -- good luck on your fast; looks like the foods are primarily plant-based, so that will be good!
CAIT -- I agree it feels good to get back to more routine.
We are cautiously optimistic about our kitchen project. The cabinet maker has more excuses than my students! Anyway, he came by today with a sample board that is much closer to what we want (and what he put up initially). Fingers crossed! Fred offered to help clean up the dining room so I can host my bridge group a week from Monday; I've put off my hostess-ing duties long enough!

Good Afternoon Challengers
Yesterday I did all 6 of my main HHs, stayed in my 💚 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 25 pts. We walked 2.2 mi before breakfast. I did 12 mins of PT exercises before lunch 🥳.
I did the PT before lunch because I would be at the office in the afternoon and knew I probably wouldn’t get home in time to do PT. And it turned out that way.
My 1st cousin called yesterday to tell me her bro Phil, who had esophageal cancer died. He was 67. The chemo and radiation weren’t working, he got more tumors throughout his body, then got a staph infection. Her Sis died of brain cancer at age 52. Very sad. At least he was able to attend their daughter’s wedding in Nov, and his wife said he was doing well, still working, until the past 2 weeks. I called my bro and Sis this am to let them know.
CAROL - Ugh - too bad about the pool. At least you got in the water class. Glad your cabinet work may be seeing light at the proverbial end of the tunnel. Too cute about your hosting duties. Jumping back in to the “social”!
Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other.

Good Morning Challengers Yesterday I did 3/6 of my main HHs, ate above my 🛑 zone of pts. I had 3 meals, 1 snack, used 90 pts. We walked 2.7 mi after breakfast. I did 15 mins of PT exercises before dinner 🥳. My “KISS” HHs (Keep it Simple and Specific) yesterday: - Do at least 10 mins of PT: 💚 - Avoid salted snacks: N - No “seconds” with snack: N - No eating out of a container: 💚 - Limit phone after 9 pm: 💚 - JGTB (Just Go To Bed) around 10 - 11 pm: 💚 I finished off the rest of the Christmas and guest treats last night. It’s been a rough week but could have been worse. Today is the visitation for my cousin Phil at the funeral parlor and tomorrow is the cremation. They’re in Singapore where he’s been a professor at an international business grad school for years. His 2 kids are arriving from the US today, but my cousin and the nieces can’t make it to Singapore. Later this month the grad school will have a memorial, and hopefully they’ll have a video link. I keep thinking of him as a little boy, running around like crazy, and as he was when I last saw him, and from more recent pix. Yesterday i attended my weekly WW virtual workshop - “How to set goals that work for you.” STAR goal setting - leveraging the things we enjoy, to include them when we’re figuring out goals that are: S Specific T Truly Doable A Active R Relevant The idea is that it works better to attach our HH goals to things we already like to do, instead of trying to force ourselves to do things we really don’t like. Also to think about what might get in the way, and plan how we can work around that. I need to plan what I’ll do in the evening to avoid the snacking. Here’s the “3 Fast Facts”: Here’s the article: www.weightwatchers.com/us/m/cms/how-set-goals-that-work-for-youIt’s very windy this am - 17 mph with gusts up to 34 mph. The trees that have been losing their leaves are barely hanging onto a few. I can’t figure out how they can do that! I’ll need my windbreaker. We’ve been trying to get new walking shoes for DH because his are badly worn, but the version he’s been wearing has been discontinued. We’ve had to return two trial pair already because they hurt his feet so badly. I have some ordered that I’m hoping will work - they seem to be a newer version of his worn out ones. For some reason I didn’t find these when I searched before, which is weird, because I’ve been looking at info online over the past 3 months trying to figure this out. Be well, and take care, for ourselves and for each other. Cait

Good Morning!!
I added 8 miles of WATP and added 1 mile for shoveling and all the work of taking down the Christmas decorations outside and inside.
The snow was not too bad on Saturday. I made sure to get the deck and walkway and around the car done before it changed over to rain and sleet.
Went to Church on Sunday and other than a little laundry and WATP. I got a lot of relaxing and reading in.
Started my modified Daniel Fast yesterday. Made vegetable soup in my crock pot.
Cait: Good job on your over all good days. Sorry for your loss.
Carol: Bummer about the pool. Glad you were able to do your water class.
Hopefully you are close to getting the kitchen completed. Sure has been a long journey.
Yes, you have put off your hostessing long enough.
Waving to all!! Happy Walking!!
