CONNIE funny you say about MAGICALLY appearing. Oddly that's what happened a day or 2 ago and then POOF... GONE again never to return so far. I know it will get worked out but I see a lengthy time on the phone w/ tech support and/or cust. service. But I put it on speaker and go about my business so it's nothing AWFUL (like SS or your foundation).
I came back to say: GOOD NIGHT ALL.

Good morning.
STEPH- Ugh on the doctor's appointment. That's never a fun one. Although I like the gal I go to, it's never my favorite! Cool on seeing the movie with Autumn. Sounds like the dancing is going to be a passion for you.
On today's agenda: Call the woman and go pay down payment on windows. Call appraiser to get refund. Try to reach my friend Diane to see if she wants to go to lunch. She had dental work yesterday, so we'll see how she feels. Quilt that customer quilt. Once that's off my plate, all sewing room time can be devoted to getting stuff ready for the retreat. That's all I'm committing to right now.
DH and I tried to spend time discussing what we want to do in our future. It's hard because I just don't know. He is ready to retire and move South. I CANNOT retire for at least 11 more years and don't want to find a different job. I see the benefits of downsizing to a smaller house, but since this one is finally fixed up the way we want it and will be paid off in Dec., I just don't want to think about all the stress of moving. He still holds out hope of moving to the rental, but I would require addition of a master bath, enlargement of the master bedroom for more closet space, and a sewing studio addition. Heaven knows how much that would cost! Makes my head hurt.

LOUISE very cool on the computer generated crowns! mine isnt there yet, but he is advancing for a small town dentist. the last one i got was much easier.
TERRY feel better. I feel tired this am but better sinuses/headache than tge past couple days- which is good because I tend to get sick flying.
Got to run...you know potty for the 3rd time before I get on the plane lol.
waving to all...see you on the flip side.
Oh..CELESTE texting you where my desolate lot is in AZ. Look there first if you dont hear from me ๐

Good morning,
Suze, enjoy your trip and sis time.
My morning didn't go as planned. DH got a call at 3AM that MIL fell during the night and was sent to the ER. So, I get up and go to the hospital only to find out she wasn't there. They didn't admit her, just sent her back to the home. She's bruised and sore. Finally got a hold of her and she thinks we're mad at her b/c we didn't go see her Mon (her b-day) and DH didn't answer her calls. None of that went well with me, so I got off the phone as quickly as possible. This is why I've stopped calling her.
Need to get laundry going. Y'all have a great day. BBL.

I know I almost NEVER say this so PAY ATTENTION!! I slept well last night. I fell asleep easily and stayed asleep. Well I THINK I stayed asleep and I don't remember any dreams/nightmares but weirdly I woke up and my chest was bleeding in 2 little spots and there were scratch marks and I don't have any bites. Strange> But I woke up and felt as refreshed as I ever do when I first get up. WOOO HOOOOOOOOO.
STEPH YAY on the new dishwasher. I love getting new appliances and I'm thinking I need a new washing machine BEFORE it craps out on me. This one is 14 years old and I need to proactively get a new one before I go in there sometime w/ all the clothes sitting in a tub of water b/c it won't spin or something. I hate getting rid of a machine that works just fine and I'd give it to a charity or something (like Habitat... or put it for free in Nextdoor.com) but I'm afraid as soon as they got it home it would expire). Does A have dance experience? Like ballet, tap or jazz? Is this dance like a cheerleading team I assume? As opposed to a classical troupe? Heck if I know. And it IS kind of sad that your DH didn't call his own mother on her b/day. If most of us were in her place, in a nursing home alone, and didn't get a call from our kid we'd be disappointed. Well at least I would be. However, I don't see where it's become YOUR duty. It's your DH's mother. If she croaked the next day he'd feel guilty. Or was she an awful mother when he was growing up?? That makes a difference I think.
hahaha CONNIE.... that's ALL you're committed to? ALL? CONNIE that's some heavy conversation and decisions. I'm an old lady and sometimes look back on what I DIDN'T do. or what took me way too long to do. My only word of advice: Unless you leap you cannot soar. In my life, for too long, I did the safe thing. Of course after that I went NUTS!! LOL
LOUISE what's an inspection on a rental car? I guess I missed that you had a rental car (either you didn't post, I didn't read or more likely I FORGOT).
SUZE I'll be on the lookout for where the buzzards are circling in AZ. Now, SUZE.... there's a girl who leaps. She's CRAZY w/ leaping. A regular gazelle of leapers. A veritable kangaroo. I metaphorical springbok. A bona fide RABBIT of a leaper. You know those 10 lords a leaping? It was 9 lords and Suze LOL
I have to get ready for W.W. I'm HOPING for a loss. Though I assumed I'd have one last week so ya never know. I best go have an enema, shave myself bald, and trim my fingernails. And put on spanx. ONLY SPANX.

Learning more about a leased car every day and never again. You have to hav the car inspected by a contract company to see if there is damage you need to pay for. Passed with glowing colors.

SUZE- safe travels!
I just got back from eating Chinese with Diane. Had chicken and snow peas in brown sauce. Had about a cup of steamed rice and an egg roll. Scrumptious! Now I'm waiting at the rental for the official measuring dude with the window company. Will leave here and pay half down on said windows. They still plan to install on Friday. It is just below freezing outside with wind and periodic snow squalls. The thermostat in the house has been set on 60, but I've cranked it up to 70 and am hoping it gets warm before I become a block of ice. Keep in mind, all of the old casement windows leak air BADLY and a couple of them have broken panes, so it's pretty chilly in here.
This morning before lunch I worked on the customer quilt. I've got one long skinny side border to do and then a skinny and a fat border top and bottom and I will be done. Love making progress. (And a bit of extra money!)
Have been putting off calling back that appraiser to ask for my refund. No time like the present.

Dishwasher has been installed. It looks really nice and is very quiet. Will look even better when we get around to remodeling our kitchen. Not even sure when that will happen. Kids are out riding their bikes. I'm finally get a few minutes of quiet. A & I will pick her friend up & go see The Great American Showman later this afternoon.
Connie, good deal on the windows. It's something we need to do to this house. DH says it's on his list.
DH goes to see his mom every Sat or Sun. Usually one of the kids will go. I stopped going b/c she talks to me way different than she does the others. She's not mean, but she says things that makes you feel bad. The kids don't like to go and stopped going for awhile b/c of it. I finally told her a few months ago if she wanted them to visit to stop crying and making them feel bad or they won't be back. She wasn't a bad mom when DH was growing up. She put his dad in a VA nursing home in the early 70s after he had a brain aneurysm & then several strokes. DH remembers not getting to visit his dad and then one day his dad died. He was 7/8. I know he still has feelings with all that he hasn't worked through. Just things he'll say once in awhile. When he was 14/15, she met Dee (my FIL) & married him. He died and we moved her out here. My FIL was a very tough man, verbally abusive to MIL but not when we were around. She never said anything until the end of his life. DH got a job at 16 & started making his own decisions. As soon as we got married, we got out. We do what we need to take care of her. There is no way she can live on her own or with us. Any time something comes up, the nursing home will call DH & he calls me. 9 out 10 times I'm the one who drops things to go to help her & get things moving to make sure she's ok.

STEPH- you and your DH are earning points in heaven every time you forebear your MIL's manipulations. My dad's mom was an undiagnosed manic depressive who was masterful with the guilt trip. I've always had the greatest respect for the fact that my dad always made sure she was taken care of....something she didn't do for him as a youngster. Shows excellent character.
Called the appraiser. They said they would be mailing me back a check. (Yay!)
The window guy re-measured. I'm glad for this extra step because I actually changed my mind about one of the windows. Originally I agreed to a double hung over the kitchen sink, but realized that would put the bar straight in my line of vision while standing at the sink. I went with a 3 pane window with sliders on the sides. Thought about a solid pane that wouldn't open, but sometimes it's nice to be able to open a kitchen window....perhaps to clear smoke from burnt popcorn......not that I would ever burn popcorn. Paid half down and will pay remainder on Friday once they are finished with installation. So, Friday morning I will need to get up and drive down there to let them in the house. Then I will just have them call me to lock up when they are done.
Am so looking forward to this being done!

Well, drat! They just called and said I have to have a solid pane that doesn't open in the kitchen. Opening isn't wide enough for the 3 section window I wanted. At least that's better than a post in your direct line of vision while washing dishes.

*(#%!! COMPUTER. It froze (again) when I was just about to post a bigass post.
**SIGH** LOUISE I don't think I'd ever lease a car. Well I know I won't now b/c when I buy my next car it will probably be the last one I ever buy. (kind of a creepy thought but true). Talk about a LATE midlife crisis... .I'm leaning toward a Porsche!!
CONNIE in Plano, when I bought, there were a bunch of the double pane low E that has busted seals so I replaced all 65 windows in the house and boy did it help on my utility bills. Now I have the double pane but I think I have 11 or 12!!! Also my son has that really old house and the first thing he did when he moved in was to replace a bunch of windows for the same reason. Now that you've called the appraiser, would you do my 2 phone errands. I won't want to get all frustrated at hold times and incompetence. Thanks... you're aces!! And my mother too had her PhD in GUILT TRIPS (Piled Higher and Deeper). I try so very hard to be the exact opposite w/ my kids. And yeah good decision re not having that bar in the middle of the kitchen window!
STEPH it's so cool how quiet dishwashers have become, even those that aren't high end. My house here has a "builder's special" cheapy Whirlpool and it is whisper quiet. And I feel badly for you. That's not YOUR mom and if she does stuff that makes you feel badly, I don't BLAME you for not wanting to see her. And I also feel it's unfair (like who cares what I feel) that your DH expects YOU to drop things and take care of issues with her. As if your job is less important than his.
I lost 1.2 lbs at WI this AM. I wish it were more but I HAVE to say I NEVER went hungry. If I got hungry, I ate. Left overs. A slice of turkey wrapped around a pickle spear. SOMETHING. The meeting was boring (can't even recall the topic) but there was this one lady there who'd lost 25 pounds. She HAS to be at or near goal now. Very sharp dresser, just sharp in general and get this. SHE WAS 82 YEARS OLD!!!!!! So after the meeting I drove about 15 min to Trader Joe's and guess who was in line ahead of me... the 82 year old. Here are some of the things I got: TJ's crab cakes. Good sized and ONE point each. These little stuffed won tons. 4 of them are 1 point Mahi mahi burgers. 2 points. Chicken shiitake stir fry. 1/4 bag is 2 points. Guilt free guacamole: 3 tb is 1 point Guilt free spinach and Kale greek yogurt dip. 3 TB is 1 point Blue Cheese dressing and dip: it's 4 points/ serving but no matter the points, it's hands down my fave blue cheese dressing. Trader Joe's Grocery - World's puiffiest sour cream & onion corn puffs 2 1/2 cups of deliciousness 4 points

My daughterโs grandmother refused to go visit her mother in law. So he went once a week.
Iโm over at my daughters house so she can set up my fit bit. I figured it would be easier to do it to begin with rather try to undo what Iโve messed up.
When the Saturn dies, im not buying another car.

Quick check in. At DDs & on little boy duty. They ha e choir practice at church, then weโll have supper....and I think she said we are going bowling tonight. That will be interesting.
Celeste...yay on the loss!!! Keep going! I put on a pair of jeans today & about croaked....they must have shrunk in the drawer this winter !?! Sigh....all the hours at the gym arenโt going to solve the problem obviously....will need to change up how we are eating ...phooey!
Steph...what kind of dishwasher did you get? Ours is sounding worse every time we run it! Had hoped we could get out of there before it had to be replaced...but I know it would never pass inspection.
Louise ... oh no on your FB! What happened?
Connie ... the window deal sounds great! That appraiser ...not so much. I think you are right to be done with that particular one.
Need to pop pizza in the oven ...
