This is a monthly thread for those of us who have a lot of weight to lose. The definition of “a lot” is something that is determined personally, so everyone who feels they have a lot of weight to lose is welcome to post here.
Please join us in offering support, checking in for accountability, help with questions, etc. We’re in this for the long haul.
We’d also love to hear from those of you who are maintaining a large loss. We need those tips to help us to keep the weight off once we lose it.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all enjoying your holiday I had my one year at goal weigh-in today and was 2.2 pounds below my goal weight - after losing 200 pounds. I'm thrilled and happy with that. I have never been able to maintain my weight loss any of the 4-5 times I've lost at least 100 pounds in my life. So for me it's a major achievement. The first 8 months were pretty easy, but these last 4 months sure have been a struggle for me. I'm just hoping to keep on working at keeping the weight off. I don't ever want to have to have to lose that weight again so I know I have to stay strong. I'm "allowing" myself some higher calorie foods today and then I know that tomorrow I have to be right back on track eating well. I am still getting in my steps/exercise and water today and also fruits and vegetables. I'm also tracking what I eat. I've made those things that I have to do each day - and I think that's contributed to my success this past year. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans and I thank you all for the support you give me.

Just checking in for the day and doing well and back on track after the extra food yesterday. I find that sometimes I don't even enjoy having that extra food, since I'm used to a certain amount of food each day now. I really want to work this month on staying on track and avoiding bingeing. I've had too many bingeing days this year. I will have several food "events" this month and I need to try to enjoy the food at them, and not let the eating get out of control. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans

cj59, Congratulations!!! That is an incredible accomplishment. Maybe it doesn't sound as incredible to you because you're living it, but losing 200 pounds is incredible by itself, and then keeping it off for an entire year?!? No matter what anyone says, you are a weight loss expert and success story in my book. May your second year at goal be even better than your first!

Hello Everyone Thanks for your kind words about my one year at goal, I appreciate them I'm doing well today, so that's two days back on track. As long as I can get right back on track after a day of extra food I'm happy. It's a relief not to have the thoughts that since I overate I might as well just keep doing it. That's one of the most important skills I've learned in the last 3 years, I hope I always keep it.

Good morning
cj59, that is a great skill to have learned! Keep it up.

I threw out Easter candy this morning because I have no control over it. One day, one meal for me.

Hello Everyone sunrose - good for you throwing out the candy. I've done that with some foods but candy would be tough for me to throw out, I have a really bad sweet tooth. I'm doing pretty well today, but fighting a desire to overeat. I feel like I'm going to float away with all the water and zero calorie drinks I've had today, hoping to fill myself up. Hope everyone else is doing well today.

Hello all! I decided Tuesday to do more of a push, and yesterday went fairly well. I tracked honestly and assessed what went well and what didn't (What a filling breakfast! I made it all the way to lunch without wanting to stop and get something. And why did I eat that cadbury egg before bed? Totally unnecessary). Today is day two, so onward (and hopefully downward). I might still eat a cadbury egg, but I was saving them for the 2 pm snack attack. It's a serious situation. cj59, Fighting the good fight, as always. Sorry that the drinks took so long to kick in. sunrose49, Throwing out the Easter candy is a bold move! Good for you! Have an awesome day on plan!

Hello Everyone irisinnia - Sometimes I'm good at portioning out candy, and sometimes I'm not. I think it all depends on our frame of mind. Hope you had a strong day. I was totally off track today and I'm just admitting it and I tracked what I ate. Tomorrow is probably going to be the same since I'm going to be around a lot of high calorie food. If I can just limit some of what I eat and then get right back on track then I'll be happy. I know I can't spend the rest of my life saying I can't have certain foods. It's just not realistic for me and also not an enjoyable way for me to live. So I just have to be truthful to myself about what I'm eating and keep up my other good habits even when I am overeating. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Hi everyone! cj59 - I agree that nothing should be off-limits completely. I try to tell myself that I can have it whenever I want - so I don't need it now. I also try to keep in mind that some foods are just for fun and do not do anything for me health-wise or are even detrimental to my health when consumed frequently. irisinnia, you seem to have good insight. sunrose49 - I support the throwing out of candy if it's causing you a problem. I am not good at portioning things out - except for nuts. I do best if I keep everything out of sight and don't bring it into the house. I've never been good at moderation. If I want a treat, I need to buy a single serving something. Of course, that is all in theory. There is a giant bag of mini eggs at my house right now, and a tub of Oreo ice cream. I find it really hard to keep that stuff out of the house with DH and three kids. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning
cj, it is hard some days. You are doing so well.
irisinnia, good for you tracking. The cadbury eggs are hard to stay away from.
wwlurker, when I buy goldfish I put them in snack baggies and put out of sight. I have control that way. It was hard for me when I had a dh and 3 boys in the house. I feel your pain.
Still struggling. But still trying to stay in the game. I hope today/tomorrow are better days for my WI on Sunday.

Hello, kids have been on spring break this week, so my normal schedule is out the window. I lost a few more pounds and I am now down a total of 60 lbs gone. My new goal is 25%, which is hard to get my head around since that means seeing 197 on the scale. It's because I haven't seen a 1 in front of my weight in so long that it doesn't seem real. But, I just keep on moving forward and sticking with it. cj59, Congrats on making your one year goal that is huge. irisinnia, I hope things are going better today. sunrose49, Good job on throwing out the candy. wwlurker, Thanks for the mom support. She has caused major stress for me and my sis, but I haven't take my feelings out in food and that has been a huge NSV for me. Hope your plan is going well too.
