Hello Everyone sunrose - Yard work is a lot of hard work, isn't it? I'm not an outside person so I do as little of it as I have to wwlurker - Hope you were right back on track today. I agree with you that slip-ups happen and we just have to move on. I've come to realize that this is probably the reality for most people who make it to goal weight - there are always going to be ups and downs. I bet it's a very low number of people who have lost weight that stay close to their goal weight long term. Recognizing this is making it easier for me not to let the times that I've gone off track go longer than a few days, or two weeks, at most. In the past I would have just given up, but now I realize what I have to do is get back on track and do the hard work. This is probably the way it will be for me in the future unless I somehow find a happy medium and don't gain too much or go off track much irisinnia - Good for you changing your strategy as soon as you realized your were off. I think being able to do that is a good skill. Isn't it crazy how many points are in the tasty foods? I'm doing pretty well today. Still sticking to my food plan and staying on track. I try to get my exercise and steps done before noontime or shortly after so I don't have to worry about it in the afternoon. That has worked well for me. Take care everyone!

Good morning everyone! cj59 - I wish I could figure out what causes me to go off track and stay that way for days so that I could work on it. Maybe you're right; we just need to accept and deal with it. irisinnia - I'm with cj59 - good job adjusting! Last night I had a bit of a mini-binge. I was disappointed but today I'm working to get right back on track. Even if I feel like I need to start over every day, I just have to do it. Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning
wwlurker, I had a mini binge too last night (well most nights). But I think we all have been pretty much saying the same thing on each day we get to start over. To me that is not giving up! Thanks for sharing. Interesting on the pepsi.
cj59, I agree on the reality for most people making it to goal. I made goal in 1991 and have started over so many times. Not like this though.
IrisInnia, you did good on the switch for lunch.
Thanks everyone for sharing on the starting over. It clicked with me that I'm not a loser and if I keep trying I will eventually get there. Have a sore throat this morning so steps are slow.
Waving to all.

irisinnia - Kombucha is made by making sweet tea (I make a big batch with 4 green tea bags, 4 black tea bags and 2 cups of sugar). You combine this with a "starter liquid" (some kombucha from your last batch, or commercial unflavoured kombucha). I use about 1 L of starter liquid (I make 2 gallons at a time). Then you put it all together in a big glass jug with a SCOBY (which is a bacterial culture thing - it's like a big gelatinous blob). Cover with a tea towel or cloth napkin and leave it for about 9 days in a dark, warm place. The SCOBY eats the sugar from the sweet tea and transforms it. The SCOBY is either purchased from a reputable dealer, or grown using commercial unflavoured kombucha. I grew my SCOBY. With each new batch, a new SCOBY is formed, so at any given time, I have about 3 SCOBYs. Once it's done fermenting, you can flavour it and bottle it. It sounds like a lot of work, but once you get it down, it's easy. Commercial kombucha is about $3.50 to $5 per 16 oz bottle, so this saves me a ton of money.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are all doing well today I'm doing pretty well today. I feel like I want to overeat, so I'm making sure to get in lots of fluids and spreading out my eating which seems to keep me from going crazy. I really would like to get away from eating these mini-meals, since it doesn't feel "normal" to me. But it does seem to work to keep me on track. The only problem is that I feel like I'm constantly thinking about food. I think I have to accept that there isn't going to be a normal way for me to keep the weight off, it's just going to be whatever I have to do to keep it off.

Hello all! cj59, Great insight! Wow, that really clicks. I think I have notions in my head of getting to goal and that's it, back to eating like I did in college - fast food life - or that it will be so crazy restrictive by the time I get there, I won't even be able to look at a doughnut. Both of those are all or nothing thoughts. There's moderation with it's natural ups and downs. And speaking of doughnuts, yes, it is totally crazy how many calories are in the tasty foods! Then a whole bowl of salad is like 15 calories. lol Keep up the great work! wwlurker, Good job getting back on track! Did you have a good day before the mini binge? It does feel like starting over sometimes, but it's not really. It's just a bump in the road! And thanks for the Kombucha explanation! I'm fascinated, and will be looking into it. I'm not sure if I have the time right now with the little ones, but I think in another year or two, that could be right up my alley! sunrose49, You will definitely get there! You are nailing your steps! So the only place I see you being a loser... is on the scale I am riding the "beginning of the plan" high! I don't know why it clicked this time. Here's what happened. I wanted to buy something that I felt guilty purchasing - total want, not a need at all, and technically I already had one - so I made a little deal with myself that if I lost 5 lbs, I could get it. Everything fell into place after that. I want to lose weight, I want to buy it, my whole mindset fell in line. There is only one objective: stay on plan. The first day was the hardest. I'm used to talking myself into eating things, but I said no, we just have to get the 5 lbs off. And the funny thing is, once I see the scale start moving down, I get so excited I want to do more! I just needed a mini goal with a carrot dangling in front of me! Side note: Never understood the carrot analogy. I don't know anyone motivated by a carrot. Even a horse would probably prefer a sugar cube, or at the very least an apple. I hope I don't sound like I'm trying to brag, I'm just really excited that I might actually lose some weight this time! This up and down stuff is tough! Have a great day everyone! And good luck on your plans!

Just a very quick check in - I have busy days today and tomorrow - meetings, calls, presentations, oh my! I was mostly on track yesterday (I was way below my calories). I have a couple of friends here who are doing WW and one is about the same size as me. She is doing well and I'm using that as motivation to keep going. cj59 - I like a balance between eating all of the time and meals. I try to aim for 3 meals/3 snacks so that I'm eating frequently but eliminating grazing. irisinnia , you have every right to brag. It's awesome when it all falls in place! sunrose49, I'm with you - we just have to keep trying. Have a great day everyone!

Hello Everyone irisinnia - I'm glad you found a way to motivate yourself. I think it's half the battle if we can just find what works for us to keep us on program. I do well with getting a "reward" for success too, I should think about trying what you are doing. Every time I go off my program I go and get donuts somewhere - I love them wwlurker - I'm glad you have someone to motivate you. Hope the next few days aren't too crazy. I'm doing pretty well today. I'd like to eat my stress, but I'm not going to. I made out a food plan on Monday and I've been sticking to it pretty well this week, just modifying it when I need to. I think that making the food plan is something that I'm going to need to do all the time, since it seems to help me stay on track. I did make some of the Two Ingredient Dough today and I split it into thirds. I'm having a bagel with one third and the other two I'm going to make a mini pizza today and another one tomorrow. I found the dough keeps fine overnight in the fridge. It's nice to have something that feels like a "baked good" every once in awhile, so I'm glad I found this recipe. I also made some SF Strawberry Jello applesauce and I get 3 fruit servings out of it so I spread it over 3 days. Hope everyone else is doing well on their plans.

Good morning
irisinnia, good for you regarding the mental click!! I am still searching.
wwlurker, that's great you have motivation help. I think that is so important.
cj59, WTG not eating your stress. Stress is hard. I still need to make the 2 ingredient dough. Do you like it?

Was MIA yesterday. Not feeling the best. Got my steps in yesterday. Need to run errands this morning and then yard work.

Good morning! It's been a relatively quiet week here- and I'm not complaining! It's really warm for the "average", getting into the upper 80s/low 90s when 85 is the usual high, and then there's humidity, ugh. I hate having summer electric bills in the spring Hope everyone is having a fantastic day!

Hello Everyone sunrose - Hope you are feeling better today. DotRen - I'm always happy when my life is "quiet" too. I'm doing pretty well today. I went grocery shopping and was nervous I'd buy junk, but I was able to avoid buying too much. I did get a few snack items but I'm able to portion them out. Now I just have to make it through the weekend and I'll have had a full week on program. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

My DH is going to get a smack upside the head. I know what foods he likes and what he doesn't. So when I make something "for me" and he insists on eating it, I tell him "you're not going to like it" and he never, ever, listens. Tired of him throwing food away, I made a new rule: He is welcome to try whatever I cook BUT, if I tell him he's not going to like it and he insists on trying it anyway, there will be no spoiled child "that tastes awful" and the face to go with it and ends up with him spitting it out. I told him if he tries it he HAS to eat it. I mean really, he's a 60 years old man, time to grow up! lol.

Hello Everyone - Hope you are enjoying your weekend sunrose - I forgot to answer your question about the 2 Ingredient Dough. I do like it a lot. It's nice to have something that is "home baked". When I make a plain bagel with it, I let the bagel cool and then I slice it in half and toast it. I do put some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light on it and some preserves/fruit spread and it's really enjoyable. I also like to make one with cinnamon and raisins mixed in. I used it for the mini pizzas this week and those were good too. You have to accept that the texture of the pizza crust is a bit different, but it's still great to have such a low point pizza. DotRen - I feel for you having someone eat your food that is for your plan. I hope your ultimatum will keep him away I'll check out the link you posted even though I'm doing an older WW plan I like to see what others are doing. I'll be glad to make it through this day. I really feel like overeating, but I have my food plan made out for the day so I hope to stick to it. Hope everyone else is doing well.

Good afternoon
DotRen, too funny regarding your DH. I don't blame you. I use to hate sharing my WW meals my my ex and the kids. Most of the time they liked it, but gee....lol
cj59, thanks for the 2 ingredient tips and that you like it. I keep buying the yogurt and it expire.
Waving to all
It is really muggy here. I did get my steps in, but would love to be out on the porch reading. Yesterday I was outside most of the day.
Tomorrow is WW meeting and Mother's Day so probably won't be checking in.
