Hi Everyone! Have had a great weekend with wonderful sunny, warm weather. Yardwork done and enjoyed the patio and cooking out on the grill - more like Spring. We had the boys here all day Friday and enjoyed having them and DS when he came to pick them up after work. He stayed and ate dinner with us.
Holly - so bad that you had to have 3 teeth done at once! I know you must have been in pain. I hate dental work - one of my worst nightmares. Hope you feel better soon.
Joan - hope that your cold doesn't develop into much!
Sue - Victoria is a great series. I have learned so much watching it that I didn't know about her reign. Has spurred me on to read more about it. She was quite a Queen! and quite in love with Albert (unusual for most monarchs)
Started on a Spring top (crocheting)
Sue - congratulations on your wt. It's great - especially for you working with food all the time.
I am still doing my exercises regularly ( about 6 days/wk.) and walking about 2-3day/week. Would like to make myself walk more but I guess any is better than none!

Sorry to say, the cold has really developed into a nasty one---it has compromised my breathing so badly---took 4 breathing treatments yesterday and had to take my inhaler just to survive until I get food in my stomach so I can take another one this morning. Needless to say, no gym for me--which is what upsets me more than anything.
DH worked on his plan for lights on the patio all weekend and finished his work yesterday afternoon---we hung thesse industrial LE bulbs on a string around the center portion of the patio a year and a half ago but neither of us liked the look of the swagged wires hanging down inbetween the bulbs---DH came up with a ton of ideas, none of which made much sense---but finally figured out how to create a channel for the cord and a cover so that only the bulbs hanging down show and yet it doesn't look top heavy. Looks really good and adds such a nice "lighting atmosphere" to the patio.
Wow, watched the oscars last night---I had DVR'd it so could zoom thru commercials---thought it was one of the smoothest ever and then came the last award---what a disaster---I did not want La La Land to get best picture---it had several other awards, but it was not a movie of substance that the others in contention were---but still, I felt sorry for everyone---for the losers who had to be so embarrassed, for the winners who had to feel as tho they lost most of "their moment"---sad mistake just because of handing the wrong envelope! We watched a Guinness Book of World Records moment in history of film!

JoAnne, I think Victoria is one of the best things I've watched---I love it---I saw last night that they were rebroadcasting the whole series as last night was ep.1 again. And yes, it is nice to actually watch something with a bit of romance--yet realistically some normal relationship drama--I thought Rufous _____ who played Melbourne really did an excellent job of portraying the relationship between he and Victoria, too. Even the young women who becomes the seamstress is a real character and was her seamstress for years. The pastry chef, however, was let go because his French pastry was too rich for Albert's taste---but he became a famous chef in his time!

Hi all,
The pain hasn't been too bad. I am still exhausted though. Have been sleeping a lot.
Weirdly enough, I got a normal BP reading this morning for the first time in I'm not sure how long.
JoJo, did you see my message about being in Atlanta at the end of May?
Joan, hope you feel better!

Holly - I did! I'm hoping that we can find some time for a meal together or something. My kids are coming for a week sometime around the Memorial Day week and then DGD is staying another week with me. I don't know the dates or what all we will be doing yet. Probably will know more when I'm in Texas in March. I'll let you know as the plans develop.
Joan - your cold sounds terrible - something like what I had in Dec-Jan. Unfortunately it took me a good 6 weeks to get over it. The spiralizer that I have is a Wolfgang Puck (think I spelled that right!).
Had brunch with some dear friends this morning and enjoyed the morning so much.
Raining here. Should have known that the beautiful sunshine wouldn't last.

Hi!
I did so much at the restaurant yesterday. Totally wiped me out. The sous chef I have been working with told me she can see how much faster I am getting with the prep work. A lot of it is just knowing more of how they do things so I can just keep going instead of asking questions. Hard to believe that tomorrow is my last day of internship. I will miss some of them, really like them.
Jojo, glad you had good weather for the DGSs' visit. As for my weight, I'm glad I'm down from the winter holidays, but now it seems I just keep going from 118s to 119s. Good job on doing exercises 6 days out of the week.
Joan, sorry about the cold! Glad that DH was successful with the outdoor lighting!
Holly, are you taking your BP every day? Glad that it went down.
I fell asleep on the couch before the Oscars ended, but saw what happened on the news - shocking! I haven't seen any of these movies, but will put them on my netflix queue. We did see Spotlight this weekend, last year's oscar winner. It was fascinating.

A pretty day here today - much nicer than yesterday weather wise. Thunderstorms coming in Wed. afternoon.
DH has lost his phone - we have called and looked everywhere for it. Guess we will have to get a new one for him soon.
Sue - do you think that this internship is somewhere you would like to work? Have you thought any more about what you will do when you finish school?
So Holly does you doc think the teeth had any relation to the BP since it has gone down now?
Busy around the house this a.m. Vacuuming, changing and washing linens, straightening and putting things away in the kitchen.
Exercises done.
Joan - how is your breathing? and other symptoms today?

Hi!
Finished my internship this morning, a total of 90 hours for the quarter. Now I only have my 2 classes. It was tough, because I compressed the time into 7 week period instead of 10 week period like most others are doing in their internships. But now things will be a little easier on me.
Jojo, I definitely don't want to work in a restaurant. I wanted to intern in one just to see what it would be like. If I do anything with this field, it might be catering or opening something daytime casual, but I would then want to partner up with someone and I can be the investor.

School restaurant tonight, prepping for service on Wed and Thurs nights. Chef told us about 20 people expected on both nights. This is a lot more than what we have been seeing since the beginning of the quarter.

Good afternoon all! I am not doing better---it is strange that my breathing treatments are having such a hard time maintaining my breathing--I slept pretty well until about 3:30 and then lay awake for about 1 1/2 hours---sure it was just the prednisone as it usually disrupts sleep. I turned up the CPAP humidity level which helped keep my congestion down---but I can tell this is a cold that demands a lot of respect---I find myself thinking about when, if I do, do I go to ER with this. I am going to give it another day to finish the 3 prednisone---but I won't get to go to gym at all this week I fear.
I'm tired of tv, tired of reading, tired of lying around---yes, I'm complaining---sorry. One of my friends is sick to0 but she thinks she has a sinus infection. This is a challenge.
BF's got back from Mexico---the DH and his DSIL and his DGS and DS were all going to golf on Saturday---took a taxi--a car hit them head on---BF's DH got a concussion, a sprained ankle, and a broken rib! Not a good end to their otherwise good week.
I am about half way through The Nightingale---it's so stressful---all WWII novels are so hard to get through but the writing and the story force me to stay with it. Did you read it, Holly? It is our March book.

Oh my gosh---finished watching a movie I rented---About Time---it is directed by the guy who did Love Actually and Notting Hill .. But this is the best---it was so good for me---awesome philosophy on life---one I needed to be reminded of today for sure. It may be one of my favorite ever movies.

Hi all,
I worked late last night. That usually throws me off the next day because my mind takes awhile to calm down.
Joan, I will check that movie out. I haven't read The Nightingale, but have been meaning to put it on my list. Hope your cold is better. I don't like slowing down when I get sick either.
Sue, those sound like good options. I don't check my BP every day consistently, just when I think something may trigger it.
JoJo, lots of stuff blooming here. I have some hyacinths that have come up, and the hydrangeas are starting to bud.

Sue - g;ad that your schedule has slowed down. I could see you really enjoying catering - you could pick and choose how much and what you want to do.
Joan - take care! I think there are some wicked viruses and bacteria out there these days that really take a while to get over. In Jan, when I was sick, I had to sleep sitting up. Never take prednisone after 5p if you want to sleep. If you didn't have an antibiotic to take, you need one. Having Asthma places you high risk and you need to take it to protect you from a secondary bacterial infection, even if it is a virus you have now. So sorry to hear that you had such a rough night. How terrible about your BF's DH! He sounds a mess! Hope the others were not hurt. Not sure if I've seen the About Time movie. I may have. We see so many that they get all jumbled up.
Holly some of my hydrangeas are budding but I am worried about some of them - I hope the low temp we had a couple of nights didn't destroy them. Guess I'll just have to wait and see..
I'm at a loss what to cook for dinner tonight. May do the zuchinni pasta, tomato sauce, and mushrooms. DH seems to like it

Had a chest X-ray this afternoon and see my dr. At 11 tomorrow. My I am so sore from coughing!
I finished The Nightingale today---it was so good---Might read Inferno next by Dan Brown. or The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood.
JoAnne, I have been taking the prednisone right after having breakfast.
JoAnne BF's husband is the one who had lost weight and really dealt with his unhealthy lifestyle---started walking, etc., but now he's back to sedentary ways and major eating---has gained all the 27 # back, now has multiple blood clots---he had on previously---today he was getting tests done on everything for 5 hours---haven't heard what all the conclusions are. He watches tv about 8 hours a day or maybe 12---like me with this stupid cold!
