Me too. Tom Selleck just seems "flat" most of the time and I don't know if he's tired of acting or if this is supposed to be the character he's playing. He needs to find a girl friend, go out dancing and get some excitement in his life on the show!! LOL!
I think I remember somewhere early on in this show that Tom Selleck did have a lady friend. I don't know why they dropped that whole story line idea.
UgH! Comcast/Xfinity is dropping Starz Dec 10th. That means Outlander. It looks like you can still buy the channel separately, but it's not going to be included
My name is Rene IG @dotren1tx since I'm not good at adding photos on here lol
DotRen, I lost HBO/Cinemax when Dish dropped them. Even though my bill was lower, I missed lots on HBO. Now, they are recommending I get the HBO Go app for $20/month! GRRRR. I'm sorry Comcast is pulling the same thing. These cable companies are forcing people to leave them by pulling these tricks. No wonder Millennials aren't buying into any of these options.
Regarding Tom Selleck and Blue Bloods: There was one show when he had a date with I believe a television reporter. He got a call and had to leave and next thing you know she shows up at the crime scene with her crew. There was another "interest" I believe she held a special position in the city.
I never thought of the fact that he never smiled, or come to think of it have a good laugh.
He never seems happy or has "fun" on the show. His job is demanding and I wish he could get away for a fun weekend sometime! (that's me speaking, he might be very happy.) Come to think of it, DH and I have watched the entire Jesse Stone Series which stars Tom Selleck and plays often on the Hallmark Channel. He plays the Chief of Police in a town called Paradise. The stories are based on the books written by Robert B. Parker. Tom plays a flawed character and he has the same demeanor on both shows.
Yes! I watch a couple of the Jesse Stone movies and Tom Selleck plays a very sour? stoic? serious? character. My thought is that he's not really a very good actor, but he was such fun to watch in Magnum. AND if you have never seen Quincy Down Under, I would certainly try to watch it if you are a Selleck fan. It's just good fun.

I just read this somewhere else (probably Facebook). We have DirecTV. Hopefully we'll still have STARZ as part of the package we currently have. We did lose CBS and Fox (I was watching SYTYCD) for quite awhile earlier this year due to pricing and a dispute between two companies that I can't remember right now.

Comcast also moved TCM, a channel I really like and watched a lot, to their Sports Entertainment Package, which costs 10 dollars a month extra. They're basically forcing people to just go to streaming services and dropping cable TV, using them only for internet.

I love the Jesse Stone movies. I don't know how good of an actor Selleck is, but that's how Jesse is in the books. Then again, Selleck seems to have the same expression when he's hawking reverse mortgages, so you might be right!
Is anybody else a fan of period pieces on PBS? We finished watching the final season of The Durrells in Corfu. I am going to miss those crazy characters.
It looks like Callum Woodhouse (played Leslie Durrell) is going to be in a new show. It also looks like a new WWII show is coming out. World on Fire with Sean Bean. Will certainly watch that.
Also, Sandition, based on Jane Austen's unfinished final novel is coming to PBS. I am a huge Jane Austen fan. Will definitely be watching this one.
luanne, I would love to see Catherine the Great but, alas, Dish Network dropped HBO so I can't get it and I don't want to get the HBO Go app for $10/month. I hate what the cable companies are forcing us to do.
hallian, I love the Durells although the final season hasn't finished here yet. I'm ready for Poldark to end. Have you watched The Press? I've taped it but haven't started it. World on Fire looks good. We watch a lot of PBS shows and find most are very good, including Unforgotten, Sherlock, Victoria and Endeavour.
Anyone watch Last Tango in Halifax? Hilarious if you can find it on a streaming service.
linda72 , The only reason we have been able to watch the entire Durrell season is because we are Passport PBS members. It's the one tv station I don't mind paying for.
