We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 36 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished Mar 1, 2017.
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date & will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members will join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started Mar 1, 2017, is "250 Miles by Aug 1, 2017."

Good morning, happy it is Saturday. Yesterday I walked over 25 miles!!!! Haha April Fools!!!! It was 3.5. Today want to vacuum my furniture, then going to the high school play (Beauty and the Beast), then to church then out to dinner to Bonefish Grill. Already looked up what to eat.
Kelly, thanks for getting us started.
Nancy, that is so nice you made the soup, I do that sometimes but need more in the freezer as a quick healthy lunch.

Good one, Ruth! I am the world's WORST April fool-er. The only ones I can think of are negative, darn it. Did you give the party report?
Nancy, I hear you on the food prep. DH works second shift, so we cook a couple of things on the weekend and then we both eat leftovers during the week.
Cait, that negative self-talk can really affect you, can't it? I learned this years ago and have tried to avoid it.
Amy, good decision not to stress!
Kelly, WTG on the miles!
So, Thursday I got in 2 miles campus walking, and Friday I went to Aquafit (2 miles) and walked (counting 1 mile). It's a grey, dreary day, so I don't know what I'll do today. We'll see!

Good afternoon,
Ruth I thought for a minute that you must have walked all day.lol. Good job with your miles.
Kelly hoping that you have a great month.
Carol the soup was good, but the kids ate goulash. WTG. With you miles.
I have walked three miles today. How long has it been since you hula hooped ? Yesterday GD called her brother had broken her hoop, so I took her to the Dollar store to get one, we bought her one and one for me. I am so sore today,I must have used muscles that I didn't know I had, lol. So today we invited my nephews GD to play. I don't think I could hula hoop today. I am really out of shape, but it was great fun. And she got a good laugh watching me.

Walked to the post office and back (2 miles). A hula hoop sounds like a good idea ( in moderation, of course)!

Amy so glad that you had a loss!GFY on your steps.
Carol I hope your back is better, GFY for the stretching and the stairs.
I walked the TM two miles, it has rained here most of the day, and been real cool. I had to make myself walk all I wanted to do was get a blanket and get on the couch. We do not have weather like this very often, we really needed the rain. It has been nice.

Good Morning!!!
I had a busy weekend. Up early as I need to take the DH to have his protime rechecked as it was high on Saturday and I need some blood work done too. My food was all tracked for the weekend but I was over both days. The Thai food from Saturday night still has me bloated today. I did 3 miles on Saturday and only 2 miles yesterday. Was lazy yesterday as I only had a little over 8000 steps.
Amy: Great job on your weight loss and your steps.
Nancy: Good job on the miles and the hula hoop. Looks like you had a busy weekend.
Waving to all. Happy Walking and sending skinny vibes!!
Carol: Hope the back is feeling better. Great job on staying active.
Ruth: Love your April Fool's joke.

Good morning, yesterday was scheduled to death!!! It is not my favorite way to spend a day off but things had to get done.
Nancy, oh the hula hoop. I have one in my garage, maybe I will get it out this week.
Kelly, I hate the eating out body hangover!!! It makes me so mad if I make good choices and it still feels all bloaty.
Amy, good job on your loss.
Carol, I wish I could prepare food and we could eat it in the week. DH is so incredibly picky that it is frustrating trying to cook for him. This week tho he is going to Myrtle Beach golfing.

Good Morning!!
Stayed OP yesterday. I added 3 WATP miles 1 in the am and 2 in the pm. My labwork was all normal. So I am to stay off the thyroid medicine I was on for the Graves disease. The medication is thought to be the cause of my elevated liver enzymes and the pain I was having. Too bad I went through all the imaging exams for no reason. I suggested early on about the medication but they didn't think it was the cause, after all the negative imaging I suggested again to consider it since all the issues started about 1 month after being on the meds. They had me hold for 10 days and have the blood work done and everything was back to normal.
Oh, I know why the bloated feeling TOM decided to come for a visit.
Ruth: I too, do not like being so busy on my days off but things need done like you said.
Waving to all. Happy Walking and skinny vibes!!

Good morning. DH left for his golf trip this morning, jeez he can't get up for anything before 8 EXCEPT golfing. Not true, when the babies are here he gets up earlier. Thats about it tho. We went to dinner at Harvest Seasonal Grill last night, it was really nice. They keep all meals 500 or less calories unless they are marked. He didn't want to go thought it was too healthy. It is nice I like it. They have flights of wine, like beer flights, and you can try 3 kinds 2 oz each. I had very nice wine.
Kelly, how frustrating!!! Why won't they listen to us about our thoughts on our own health? That is SO maddening!! Will you have a problem without the thyroid meds?

Good Morning Walkers!
Yesterday long day up 5 am to prep & be in downtown LA by 8:30 for work. .5 mile walk in DTLA. Visited Mom on the way back, and then back to work at office. Green zone of pts & JGTB.
Mom has dementia. She was distressed confused and weepy when I arrived. We talked and it got a bit better. I suddenly just thought how much I love her and I smiled and she said "What?" I told her I love her and she smiled and said she loves me. She was in a more peaceful mood after :-)
The weekend was so busy - Fri night babysat DGDs. Sat am we bought plants. Sat Afternoon I attended an event DD#2 organized. Sun DD#1 DSIL & 2 DGDs came over for the day - so fun! DH put in most of the new plants, including the "secret fairy garden" which he did with DGDs :-) So cute! DGD 5 yo's 1st day with roller blades & DH made her a skating trainer on wheels to hold onto, like a walker. She got better fast!
KELLY - GFY with the good month & I'm so glad you have a possible answer to the pain and it involves less meds, for a change! Re Thai food - Sat I brought in Thai for DH & me and I asked for "spicy" and it was off the charts spicy! But delicious. Next time at that place we will ask for medium :-) Last night we ate leftovers while DH watched NCAA basketball. I made a mix for myself with the Thai curry sauce on veggies & brown rice & leftover tofu from Chinese food Fri night - spicy but so good!
For March I had 39.7 Miles so I am short of pace for the 250. Last week only 4 Miles. I need to get moving!
CAROL - GFY with the campus walk & Aquafit. Yes that negative self talk can creep in without me recognizing it
RUTH - glad you got to go to the Harvest seasonal Grill. It sounds great.
NANCY - hula hoop, dollar store, love it! Gotta think about doing that.
AMY - Whoo hoo for you with the WI & 10K steps
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!
Cait
