Kelly, I agree with Ruth that it's frustrating when professionals won't listen to us! On the flip side, though, I depend on professionals for advice; I guess the trick is to find the right balance. Sadly, we got the notice last week that our primary care doc, whom we really like, is leaving the clinic and becoming a "hospitalist," whatever that is. Now we doctor-shop again.
Ruth, both DH and I like only having to heat up meals during the week. That way, he can have his dinner at noon and I can have mine in the evening (he usually works 2nd shift).d
3 miles yesterday between aquafit and walking. Not sure what today will bring.
Guess I should switch out my profile picture from winter to summer!

Good Morning!
I had a good day yesterday and even ate out at Hoss's for the evening meal since we had to take Baxter the dog for his f/u appt for his ear infection. We just had the salad bar. It was the first time ever I ate there and did not have any ice cream. I had some pudding made with Splenda, fruit, and a little cottage cheese with apple butter for desert. He is doing well. The thyroid med I was on was just to be temporary. They will keep an eye on my levels and f/u US in June to be sure.
Cait: So sorry about your mother's dementia. It is so hard when that happens. I am sure you will get those miles up over the next few months. My Thai choice was already spicy but oh so yummy. I will have to go back again sometime. The DH does not care for Asian Cuisine.
Ruth: The Harvest Seasonal Grill sounds yummy.
Amy: Great job on your miles.
Carol: Great job with your miles. Sorry about your doctor leaving. A hospitalist is a Dr that just sees patients in the hospital setting. Gone are the days when your Dr comes to see you at the hospital bedside. So hospitalist provides the medical orders for your care in the hospital and then calls in specialists if needed like a surgeon.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good morning.
DH is away golfing so I have to take the dog to work. It is too long for her to be home alone. I don't work that long, just til 4 but I usually do something after work every day, today I won't get home til 9. Yesterday she got a haircut and when she went to work after she was a PITA! Very needy!!!
We are supposed to have bad thunder storms today. I hope not too bad.
Cait, I am sorry about your moms mental state but you shared a beautiful moment with her.
Carol, I love you have a picture up. I hate looking for a doctor you feel good, or at least ok with.
Amy, good job on the steps.
Kelly, nice job on good choices.

Good Morning!!!
I am having a good week so far. I added 4 WATP miles yesterday. We had some nice weather on Monday and Tuesday. It was in the 70's. Today we are to get a few inches of rain and only in the 50's. Tomorrow will be chilly and windy. My Leslie Sansone Walk Challenge started yesterday. So A good start for me. Looking forward to Friday evening as I am going out with some coworkers from one of my old jobs. I haven't worked there in almost 4 years but they always include me. There are several that come that no longer work there.
Ruth: It is Awesome that you can take your dog to work with you.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!

Good Morning Walkers!
Yesterday I was up at 5:15 am to get ready to go babysit DGD2 at 7 am til noon. Did some work on laptop while babysitting. On the way back I parked far from the store and got in .2 miles walking. Then to work. I took my breakfast & lunch and we had a nice dinner out on the deck. All was well with eating til after dinner. I got to my red zone of pts but grateful that I stopped. I didn't get into the nuts - NSV.
This am I have marched in place 20 mins = 1 Mile. I have a dermatology appt for a spot on my neck. Then work. Then DGD1 has open house at her preschool so we will go to DD1 house for dinner & then to the open house.
Thanks for the kind words about Mom.
KELLY - GFY WATP and having a good week. have a great visit with former coworkers! Sounds like fun.
AMY - GFY with the 10K steps, WATP & health eatng

Ruth, glad you like the photo! I put it up by mistake -- it's from a few years ago when DH had just finished the pond. I like it, though, so it can stay up for a while. My other picture was also of me, skiing in Yellowstone, but I was so far away you couldn't tell it was me. ha, ha.
Kelly, the WATP challenge sounds like a good motivational challenge.
CAit, I know nuts can be addictive, so GFY limiting yourself.
Amy, good job on the steps. Sorry about the popcorn!
Aquafit yesterday and a little walking (3 miles); today, 3 miles walking to lunch and back. I'm going to add 20 minutes of stretching, just to make sure I do it when I get home!

Good Morning Walkers!
Dermatologist removed the "milia" small cyst on my neck - apparently very common & usually not a problem but because this was itchy it will be checked.
Yesterday dinner at DD1 house then DGD1 preschool open house was fun. I saw 2 grandmas I used to know when our kids were young. DDs old HS friend's child goes to that preschool. After seeing DGD's classroom, DGDs played on the play equipment outside and ran around while the grown ups visited. DGD2 is just 1-1/2 but she is fearless out there climbing and playing. DH watched her like a hawk and caught her a few times. That gave him a job to do ;-) He's not much of a chatter and doesn't know the people well.
After we got home I marched in place 1 hour while we watched TV. Together with the morning 20 min marching I got 4 miles. I did eat nuts with evening snack but JGTB and stayed in yellow zone of pts.
I marched in place while typing most of this post 20 mins = 1 mile. I'm behind on my 250 miles in 5 months challenge - only had 39.7 Miles last month. Need to make up miles to get back on pace of 50 Miles per month. Trying to get back on track with both exercise and eating.
KELLY - GFY with the OP day & WATP. What a nice volunteer plan ASPCA & Easter Egg Hunt.
CAROL - GFY Aquafit walking and stretching
AMY - sorry about the digestion problems. Hope you feel better today.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!
