We are walkers, joggers, bicyclists, and some do other exercise. We set goals and keep track by miles. You can set your goal for any amount, count your miles any way you wish. The goal is consistency with exercise.
We started Jan. 20, 2003 on the WW Challenge Central Board as "250 Miles by June 1" & we've done 36 five-month walking challenges, including the one we finished Mar 1, 2017.
The group challenge is to average about 2 miles a day, 13 miles a week, or 50 miles a month; if you do it, in 5 months you will have walked 250 miles, and if you have stuck with the challenge and a healthy eating program for that 5 months, you will see wonderful changes in your health, fitness, and size!
Some people will finish well before the target date & will go for more or another 250 miles, but others will go at a slower pace, and new members will join along the way, so each member is welcome to set her/his own personal goal and target date. The new group challenge which started Mar 1, 2017, is "250 Miles by Aug 1, 2017."

Good Morning!!
I had a nice weekend with the DH. We went to a wedding Saturday afternoon/evening and had a great time. Eating was not the best a little too much snacking. Got some walks in and marching in place too. Still lower than usual on the steps.
Amy - Hope you are doing better today
Carol - Hope you are feeling better with the strain.
Ruth - Great job getting in your stairs and stretching.
Cait: Glad to see you posting. Hope you get back to your JGTB and getting in a few more miles without the snacking at night.
Waving to all. Happy Walking.
Miles: WATP/Exercise miles: 176 miles and Fitbit miles: 254.13 miles

Hi all. I am really going to try for this next round of 250 miles. I did my first half marathon of the season on Saturday, here in Nashville. It was very hot, 87 when I finished. I was pretty slow but had a great time. So 13.1 miles but adding another 1 miles for the walk from the car to the start. Adding 2 miles for push mowing on Sunday. None of this counts since last month. Taking a DOR today.

Wow, congrats on the half-marathon! I did one a few years ago, and I was super s-l-o-w! I was good about following the "training" schedule, so I did a lot, lot, lot of walking!
The sun is out today -- yay! I am logging 2 miles AquaFit and 1 mile campus walking and 15 minutes stretching. Tomorrow I need to deliver flyers for the neighborhood picnic, so I should be able to get a few miles in.
Happy May DAy!

Good Evening Walkers!
Yesterday 5 Miles between walk and marching in place. Now I'm marching in place while we watch TV.
Last night I stayed up late but not as late as other nights, and I ate too much popcorn but that was better than what I was eating other nights.
KELLY GFY with the moderate weekend!
AMY - GFY with the TM
CAROL - I love how you have diverse exercise
YETTA Whoo hoo for you with the half marathon! I did one 13 years ago. No more running for me after hip replacements.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Carol: Great job getting in your miles.

Good morning. Going to be better showing up here in May. We had company all weekend so my computer was put away.
Carol, glad you are ok and yes I agree ... not crossing legs, ankles, anything is a hard habit to break. It IS wonderful outside this time of year isn't it??? Other than not being able to see with the eye allergies that is, still beautiful.
Yetta, that is wonderful, congrats!!!!! A half marathon... that is so impressive!!
Kelly, I had an overeating problem yesterday evening. Way worse than tositos and queso tho I am sorry to say. Thanks for always getting this started and keeping up with it.
Amy, good for you that you are being so consistent with the treadmill!!!
Cait, you are so good at marching in place while watching tv and posting. Once I plop down I am not good about doing anything.
Yesterday was National Mother Goose Day. When I was little my brother and I would pick flowers, put them on my porch and ring the bell and my mom would chase us. It was really some custom she had growing up. Nobody else in my life ever heard of it.

Amy, good job exercising today!
Cait, popcorn is a whole grain, don't forget!
Hang in there, Kelly!
Ruth, we grew up with a similar "May Basket" tradition. Kids would make little baskets of flowers & candy, put them by the neighbors' front doors, ring the bell, and RUN! Why? Because whoever would answer the door would chase us until they caught us and then KISS us! When we moved into our current home, 25 years ago, the neighbors' little boys did that for several years (the mom was from a small town, so she made them do it). Of course, I had to chase them and kiss them. It got to be pretty tiring, I can tell you, as they got bigger! Nobody has done that for several years, but it was fun!
I am okay, but my back squawks if I walk very far, so I'm anxious to get my bike out. DH helped me deliver flyers, and we got over half delivered, and I should be able to finish tomorrow. I'm counting 3 miles for that and 163 stairs.

Good Evening Walkers!
I'm marching in place while we watch TV. Yesterday 1 hour = 3 Miles, yellow zone of pts. I didn't JGTB but I got to bed earlier than the previous night. I ate some popcorn late but less than before. Aiming for green zone tonight and JGTB.
Went To my faces group for lunch today. It's so nice to be home where I can just hang out with friends. Worked before and after. Work is less structured when I'm at home.
RUTH - I didn't march or exercise much for many weeks. I feel better when I "Just Do It." The Nike solution.
AMY - GFY with the bike & TM
CAROL - Yes popcorn is a much "better than" choice but not good in the volume I can eat it. Love the May basket story.
KELLY - GFY getting past the chip episode and at least getting in 1 mile.
Waving at everyone! Have a great day!

Good Morning!!!
I had an ok day yesterday as I had some chips with my supper. I did any 2 miles of exercise though. I worked from the office closer to home yesterday. They were teaching me the rooming process in case, the other nurse and I have to help the medical assistants if they are short staffed. Not sure how much I will retain if I do not do it on a regular basis.
Amy: Great job doing the bike and the treadmill.
Cait: Great job getting your miles in and not going overboard with the popcorn.
Carol: Great job with your exercise. Hope the back, stops squawking soon.
Ruth: You are doing Awesome with your miles. The goal is 250 miles by the end of a 5 month period and you are doing it in a month. Great job.
Waving to all. Happy Walking!!
Miles: WATP/Exercise miles: 179 miles and Fitbit miles: 259.58 miles

Good morning. Went to 30/30 class this morning, I think she may be trying to kill me!!!! It is beautiful today ~ cooler but beautiful.
Carol, I am so glad you said that, where I grew up NOBODY else knew about it and my brother and I actually got in trouble for ringing the neighbors bell. Yes, my mother kissed us when she caught us.
Kelly, good job on eating better.
Amy, good job on the exercise.

Kelly, I need regular 'hands on' practice to retain, too. Sounds like everyone is doing great now!
I delivered the rest of the flyers this morning (2), a little campus walking (1), and swimming (2). Phew!
