ksbruns I was pleasantly surprised. My biggest issue now is that I have always weighed in the buff. I have been weighing before and after dressing to get a good read and then will compare that to their scale. I am still entering my weight with the before clothes number as I always did so soon I will have to record the higher weight with the clothes. I am hoping that maybe soon I will have one of those bigger loss weeks because as silly as it is I don't want to see a big jump when I track it. On my scale clothes weigh about 3.5 or so lbs so there is a good difference. Guess nude WI's are frowned upon. Says the woman who will not even wear a bathing suit.

Wow you guys are a tough bunch! personally I think if someone is at 142.8 and the new computers won't let you make them lifetime unless they are 143, I would have told them to bounce on the scale or handed them a stapler or something. On the flip side I had people who were a smidge over and told them to take their shoes off or go take their bra off. I really don't see any difference between the two. I think that being too strict is really a recipe for disaster, especially with people that have issues with the scale already. **Also, as was said by the rep, all centers are different or may be more "lienient" as they put it. This is one of those questions that all answers will be varied so best to go by the rules of your own center

thyme2 You are speaking to the choir, you know I've always said I have scale issues! Even weighing once a month, it always killed me to have to start wearing winter clothes and have that gain, LOL. When I went back to meetings (online the first two years) I wore the exact same clothes every single week...and had one cup of coffee and a Vitamuffin (back when they were just a point.) Then when we moved to East Texas and there were no centers, I had to mainly go at night, and it just about killed me, lots of days of starvation, head case. So, I'm still a committed AM weigher... And yes, I weigh *nekkid* every AM, but I weigh again before I head out so I'll know what to expect (you can get it down to two pounds extra in your clothes, promise, LOL) As much as I fussed when SP came out and I couldn't quit losing, there was still that *old thrill* of watching the scale go down. Actually, I started wearing heavier clothes to WI because I didn't want to have some huge loss that I couldn't maintain, but since they will ALWAYS congratulate you for a loss, even if you're supposed to be maintaining, I got over it. Okay, TMI information!

When I made LT back in '98 my Leader cheered me on as I continued to lose each week during my six weeks of maintenance. I was probably down another 12 pounds during those six weeks. I continued to lose in the weeks that followed also, and was encouraged by my Leader. You see, I had set my official goal at the top of my range but had a personal goal to be at the bottom of my range.

As I mentioned in my earlier post I made goal and kept losing. I didn't even think I'd hit my first goal so when I did and continue to lose I was thrilled. I don't remember my leader's response. But the problem was, I never learned how to maintain. That's why I gained it all back...plus more. I don't remember there being anything like "official" goal and "personal" goal. There was just goal.

Does anyone remember when that change was made? Adding the 2 pound below limit? It must have been within the last 12 years because I remember it being a big thing on the WWMB's when the new materials had come out and everyone was shocked. Was it with Points+ maybe?

This is one of those questions that all answers will be varied so best to go by the rules of your own center Deb, as someone who has never weighed at a center that makes me ask, "Is the weight recorded electronically/digitally?" I guess if so then they would have to help you out by asking you to remove shoes etc. It does get silly. I guess rules are rules. It is just a silly stressor of mine to go from my independent weight loss to relying on someone else to weigh me in. I worry about weird things sometimes. I am just bound and determined to do this and maintain. I don't want any silly old scale getting in my way or weigh...

DebDoesWW It was while I was working for WW's that they started *wishing* people would stay closer to goal and the whole thing erupted on the boards, so that was 2009-2011. I can remember a few staff members giving a half-hearted stab at making people toe the line, but it was never really enforced. Usually someone would be asked if they would like to reset their goal lower, but there was nothing to be done when told *No*. I have always thought maintenance is it's own gig; I know a couple of people that have maintained very successfully with their own lower personal goal, but I have seen a whole lot more people yo-yo around and yo themselves right out of the healthy weight range. I am all about a cushion and love my own; I spent several years hovering around goal, but I'm not someone that fluctuates a lot, and it's doable, just not comfortable.

thyme2 depends, most if not all centers are computerized (weight automatically recorded from scale to computer) by now I would assume, but at work and 'traveler' locations (churches, basements, rec centers, etc) are not. And I absolutely, 100% wasn't referring to your post in any way in fact, I'd be the one holding the towel up so you could strip down to that bikini and make LT if that is what it took!! 😆 That sounds about right Kathy thanks!

Agree with what most have said. The weight at the last maintenance period weigh in can't be more than 2 pounds above or below goal weight. FWIW, if I thought I was in danger of going below on that last weigh in I would bring a jacket with me or something that could add in a little but not too much weight. Where I am, the receptionist will let you do a test weigh in before she does the official weigh in.
Once you are finished with maintenance you are free to weigh in at less than 2 pounds below goal (I am usually below that amount but not always). They can and sometimes do suggest that you can lower your goal weight but you don't have to.
Now that I usually weigh in more than 2 pounds under goal I've started wearing heavier clothes to weigh in. I used to wear shorts and a light tank top year round!

Luanne, to answer your question, no I never did go through an offical maintenance. I have over the years maintained for many months at a time, but in all honesty I tend to yoyo. My weight fluctuates a lot. And there never was an official goal came a personal goal. It's just that I know myself and I know that I'm going to be up and time and down at others and I've leaned not to beat myself up over it.

I wrote the same clothes, one I hit lifetime,I cut those shorts up! I was a receptionist also and do not remember the 2 pound below rule. I was the receptionist who would have you take off jewelry, glasses, to get you to goal. I currently am 13 pounds under goal, but I have also lost height. My BMI is fine.
