How does it teach you to maintain if you just continue to lose during the 6 week period? If they were going to do that, why have the 6 week period at all?

wildcat if you truly think about it in a general sense, WW is about losing the weight, people don't sign up to learn how to gain. KWIM? I understand all the technicalities and the issues with maintenance but I really think that the main goal is making sure the weight stays off, hence the focus on not going over by 2 pounds. Again, a good Leader will keep a very close eye on people during this period. Reminding them to add in the points and to make sure they play with them to find their sweet spot. I just want to add that I am just speaking of this in broad terms, the 99% of members that get to goal and try to stay there and not put it back on. Not the people like zazzles mentioned.

So much for my plan to stay in weight loss mode once I get back to goal. I wanted at least a 5 lbs under goal cushion. Are you already a LT member? Â If so, when you get back to goal you don't have to go through maintenance again. Â You are free to continue losing below goal weight (as long as not below the bottom of the range). Â When I got back to goal, I hadn't been at goal in over 20 years. Â Still, I didn't have to go through maintenance again. When DH got to goal he wanted to lose some below it. Â He made sure that end of 6 weeks he wasn't more than 2 pounds below his goal weight. Â Since then he has continued to lose and is several pounds below his goal weight. I am a Lifetime member. The confusion is that I've heard of some members going through maintenance again and some not. I've been over goal for about 6 months. This time I want a bigger cushion for scale's sake and to get rid of a few vanity lbs. I don't see myself going anywhere near the bottom of my range (114 lbs).

I am a lifetimer-formerly-above-goal (for YEARS). I went back to meetings last January using my Lifetime ID number and got to the top of my goal weight range on 11/19.
I asked about "maintenance again" or any continuation training for my situation and was told that there isn't any.
I'm now 5# under goal, therefore 7# below Payin'Weight.

you didn't think 17 lbs was enough wiggle room so you begrudgingly accepted 10?

When I came back as a Lifetime member [way] over goal once I got back within two pounds of my [new] goal weight, I was free. I did not have to go through official Maintenance, and pay during that time. I chose to go through Maintenance (without paying) by monitoring my weight, adding points each week. So, if I caused any confusion, I'm sorry.

Once you get LT membership, it's just that, Lifetime. The only time you pay is when you miss a month and/or are more than 2 lbs. over goal. It's against the LT rules to make a member go thru Maintenance again.

Roz You just need to make sure when you return that you let your meeting center know you are a Lifetime member, and you give them your Lifetime number. That way they can track you properly, charge you properly and know when you should stop paying. When I was working for WWers we had a couple of members who for some reason were registered as "regular" members, so when they missed meetings it would show they owed for the missed meetings, which they did not. Once we got them input into the computer correctly, the problem was fixed.

Oh no confusion on your part at all. I follow a couple of LT members on Instagram and they had to go through maintenance again when they got back to goal too. So I thought it was standard practice.

? I am so lost. newheavensearth2, no lifetimer should be paying for maintenance?! That's what I figured. I called CS and asked my leader and they said basically I get back to goal and pick up where I left off for free So hearing that a Lifetime member had to do maintenance over again threw me off. I still have my LT card so I know my number. Just gotta get there 😕

Also, when you come back you do not need to keep your original goal weight. You can change it if you wish.
