luanne, can you change it before getting there? as in, my official LT goal weight is 130, but being realistic, i don't think i'll ever get there. but 137 is the high end of the range for my height. could i go in not being at goal as i am now and ask them to change it to the 137 number? i realize i'd have to keep paying until i got there, but was just curious about the timing of changing a goal weight.

Not Luanne finreporter but yes, you can change your goal anytime. It just needs to be within the range for your height (or with a doctors note.)

Yes you can change it. The top of my goal range is 146 pounds, but at one time my goal weight was 125. I moved it up to 146. Back when I got to goal the first time (25 years ago) I was told I could only change my goal weight one time. But, later, I was freely able to change it. I got to 146 pounds in stages and through several changes.

finreporter My goal weight when I made Lifetime in the 90's was 122. I doubt if I'll see that number again without losing an arm, leg or contracting a dangerous illness! I had it changed to 137 (top of my range) with my goal being NOT to pay at Weight Watchers again! When I reached 139 I regained my Lifetime status and became "free" again. My body seems to be comfortable here as I've 'maintained' the 2 lb range for 3 months now. I've set a "personal goal" but haven't managed to reach it yet.

pbnj Your story is almost identical to mine. I'm at 137, top of my range, but I'd like to get to 132-133. It doesn't seem to be happening. I don't know if my heart/mind just aren't in it to lose more. I'm still at 30 SP/day but not losing. I can't imagine going to 36 points (maintenance) because I think I'd gain. I'm 5'2" but truthfully, at age 67, I'm probably closer to 5'. Let me know when you find the answer!

Lifetimers never go through maintenance again. On the day you get back to goal, you're free. One of perks of being LT.
Just wanted to add, as for going below goal, that when I worked for WW we were told to counsel members who were going beneath the minimum weight for their height. I saw it happen more than you might think. One of my members literally entered a dangerous weight zone and was exhibiting signs of anorexia she was so thin. She got very combative when we told her she needed to stop losing and actually put on some weight and stormed out. I regularly weighed several women who were almost painfully thin but since they still looked healthy and were maintaining that low weight and not losing further, we let it go but were told to keep a close eye on them and have the leader intervene if they went any lower.

NatureLover I know what you meant but I am going to clarify what you said again because there does seem to be some confusion about this here. For returning lifetimers, It is not the day you get back to goal, it is the day you weigh in 2 pounds above your goal that you are free again. You don't have to get back down to your official goal weight and then go from there, just within the two pound cushion.

When I hit 153# in November, we-all at my WW center realized that I had never (since Jan 2016) "declared" a goal weight for them to key in to the database for this go-round.
I thought it might be 152# but they told me that for my height 5'6" the top of my range was 155# - so I could have been "FREE" since 10/29.
And they nudged (<er> STRONGLY encouraged) me to declare goal to be 155# and to go get my Monthly Pass money back from 10/29, which was the weigh-in when I "hit 157#" (have I mentioned how much I LOVE my meeting receptionists and leader?).

Fin, looks like you already got your answer before I saw this. When I returned to WWers my original goal had been 145 and that was what was on my records. The receptionist just asked me if I wanted to keep that goal, or change it. I upped it to 155 (I never thought I'd see that number and I was well over 200 pounds). So, you can ask for your goal to be changed now.

Ha ha, you can see I haven't weighed anyone in a year now.

I thought you could be 5 pounds under goal but I probably was wrong about that. The last few pounds took me months to lose so I don't think I will lower my goal any time soon although my official goal weight is over what WW recommends. I look very nice and maybe that is a healthy weight for a woman who has more muscle than someone else. I wouldn't mind losing another 5 pounds but I am in no rush to do that.

I read somewhere, though do not ask me where, that those in England have a 5 pound leeway in both directions. Then again, I could have incorrect information or remembering it incorrectly. Lol. Five pound leeway would be great.

limefan I heard that Australians get a 2 kilogram leeway. That would be 4.4 pounds. I'd love that but then I'd probably just run my weight up to 4.3 anyway! I'm a rebel like that!
